Hi,
Ofcourse you can copy the user "administrator" in EP 2004s.
You can do by logging into /useradmin page.
Give the user id as administrator and click on Copy user.
It is best practice to have a copy of the administrator user and use the same for all administrative purpose.

Hi All,
We had initially thought of not using the "Companies" concept in our project...I have around 200 user ids already created..but just recently we decided to go ahead with the use of Companies to aid in Delegated Administration. Now I am in a peculiar position..
1) If I create companies, how would the earlier users be
affected...do I need to add companies in them seperately ?
2) Can one super user administrator upload all users for all companies or each delegated administrator needs to upload users for his companies.
Can someone share light on the same.

Hi Rajan,
1. When you create companies in the portal, the portal itself creates groups with same names as the companies. Hence, you will not need to maintain company in each of the users you created but just add the users to the right group.
2. I have never tried this but I believe a user with super admin rights should be able to upload users belonging to any companies.

Central User Administration using EP

Hi,
Can any body tell me how we can do central user Administration using EP. My landscape has multiple SAP systems, BW system and EP system. How should we go about it?

HI Sujesh,
EP is not able to serve as a hub for central user administration in my opinion.
You can connect EP to several user stores like LDAP servers (including Microsoft ActiveDirectory) and SAP Systems.
So
a) you store all your users in an LDAP and connect all your SAP systems to that LDAP
b) you declare one of your SAP systems as central user administration (CUA) "master", connect all other as "slaves" and connect the EP UME to the master
But in any way - there is no GUI inside the EP where you can administer all user related things like roles from all systems, etc. This can only be done in an ABAP system.

1. First of all create a master user based on which you can create multiple users.
2. when you are done with it export (by selecting the option at user creation) it.
3. you can see some text in a window copy it create a txt file with it, and add as many users as you want
by cpoy pasting the text multiple times and making necessary change as per the names etc...
4. save the txt file.
5. goto import option you were talking about and import the text file and update it.
6. As it gets updated you are done with the creation of multiples users.

How do i reset admin password. no disc but system automativally logs me in as administrator and can access root user mode

I recenly got this macbook, MA&00LL/A, max OS X, V:10.4.11, 2GHz IntelCore 2 duo, 2GHz, When I power up it automatically logs me on as administrator but prompts for password when I try to access/change certain features. I got the macbook from my cousin who has forgot password and has lost disc. I can access root user mode but as iam unfamiliar with apple I am hesitant to delete anything without making things worse. Is their anyway I can reset this admin password without the disc or simply delete this user and reconfigure system as myself as administrator. step by step instructions would be appreciated at this stage till i familiarize myself more. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If it came down to buying a disc, how much roughly do these cost??? thanks again

If you don't have your install disks you can get the 10.4 gray disks by calling Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 They can send them to you for about $16 per disk plus S & H. Just give them your serial number and they'll know which ones you need.
To find your serial number go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info, the System Profiler will then come up. The Serial Number (System) is down near the bottom of the Hardware Overview list.
If you don't have your install disc handy,then follow these steps
1. Start up in single-user mode (hold Command-S as thecomputer starts up).
2. Type: mount -uw /
3. Press Return.
4. Type this: passwd (user's short name) Replace "(user's shortname)" with the short name of the user account whose password you wish to reset. If you are not sure what the account name is, you can get a list of usernames by typing: ls /Users
5. Press Return.
6. Enter a new user password.
7. Press Return.
8. Type: reboot
9. Press Return.

Hi Oliver,
A contact at SAP has indicated that in the KM Task Scheduler Deadline (com.sap.workflow.es.scheduler.TaskScheduler.Deadline.run) that the user "Administrator" is hard coded in the SPS13 release.
Depending on what you are using the KM for you could reduce the frequency of the alert by changing the scheduling of this task which by default is every five minutes.
Although the release notes of the following patches didn't formerly address the hard coding issue, I decided to apply them anyway as I thought that a later release may have fixed the issue. However it is not fixed with these interim patches.

How can I grant users to access/modify system folders (C:/Windows/Fonts) by using GPO in Win7 ?

In our company there are some folks that require often new fonts that they take from the internet. Unfortunately, some of them have offices on in a diferrent country, so going there to insert my admin paswoord is not a solution.
If you copy the ttf file into the C:/Windows/Font folder is enough, you don't have to also add the registry.
One way to bypass the window that asks for admin credentials is to insert my crdentials into the bat file (runas). But this is very unsecure, as I am an administrator.
Is there a way to create a shared folder that can also store fonts that can be used by windows? Can I give them the right to modify files in this folder without making them administrators? Or do you see any solution to this issue? Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

Another solution which will not compromise your security is to create a share folder and have the users to download fonts to the folder. After that a simple schedule task GPO on clients to copy the
*.ttf files from the folder to the C:\Windows\Fonts folder. Since tha task can be run by administrative privileges I guess there will be no problem.

How can I duplicate a control in a subVI using the reference?

Here's what I want to do. I have a tree control in my main application. I add and delete items dynamically based on user input. If I pass my tree reference to a subVI, I can add, subtract and reorder the items in the tree and the changes are shown on the main tree. How can I duplicate the tree in the subVI? Would I simply pass the tree control in (which I'd rather not do) or is there some other way to accomplish this?

Here's my attempt. This VI uses a control reference of the old tree and generates a data structure that can be used by the "Edit Tree Items.Add Multiple Items to End" method to add contents to the new tree that should be identical to the contents of the original tree. Note that this VI only works with LabVIEW 8.0 and later, since the afore-mentioned method is not available in previous versions.
I hope this helps...also note that I saw some re-draw issues with LabVIEW 8.0, i.e. after the VI ran, I didn't see the tree displayed properly until I minimized/restored the window, or dragged another window over it. I did not see the redraw issues in LabVIEW 8.2.

How can HelpDesk manage users in multiple Organizations in OIM R2

Hi All,
I looking to satisfy a requirement for OIM 11g R2 where a helpdesk administrator can only manage users that belong to a particular institution. However, there are approximately 50% of users that belong to more than one institution, where helpdesk staff from each institution should be able to manage the user. Customer is currently
doing this in Waveset by assigning users to orgs dynamically through rules which allows multiple virtual orgs. OIM unfortunately has no way to assign a user to multiple orgs, making OOTB authorization management very difficult.
How can a administrators from different org manage same User. If that user belongs to different org?
How to achieve this in OIM R2?

I know the OIM Authorization is around the Organization, and a user can present in only one org in OIM.
I wanted to know, can we force the authorization based on Department/Institutions rather than Org. I am thinking in reagards of OES Authorization policies.
OIM unfortunately has no way to assign a user to multiple orgs, making OOTB authorization management slightly difficult.
I am looking to determine the best approach to accommodate this requirement. Due to the high number of users that reside within multiple institutions, leveraging organizations will not work. Asa far i know OES APM should be able to accommodate this, but could not find any solid guidance in the Oracle training or Oracle by Example documentation.
Any thoughts?

I use a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. A few months ago I reset my administrator password and have not been able to remember it since. Consequently, I haven’t been able to do any software updates, my computer is running slow and I'm getting a lot of pop-up junk on my screen. I’m the only user on my computer, apart from the Guest User (Sharing only).
How can I reset my administrator password, without knowing the original password?

Fix :- Earlier i have defined all the BAM services as Localy.Modified those services to run it from my user id.

Unable to open the "role" workset in User Administration

Hi,
I have installed Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP9 on Web AS 6.40. But when I goto the "role" workset of User Administration I get "page cannot be displayed".
So help required.

I got the same problem. Try to upgrade to SP17
and it's solved. Otherwise you can use Firefox for this special site. No good solution - I must admit - but it's displayable with Firefox.

How can all the users in my computer (my kids) have access to all the photos I have in I Photo? My photos only appear when I (the administrator) log into the computer. I want my kids to be able to access them also.

For iPhoto 09 (version 8.0.2) and later:
What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.
Quit iPhoto in both accounts. Move the Library to the Users / Shared Folder
(You can also use an external HD set to ignore permissions, a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.)
In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.
