Can I easily change the colour of one CMYK channel?

Hi. I'm still working in Photoshop CS6.
I'm working on packaging that requires two blacks to print on the pack, so I'm trying to just quickly change the Black channel in the photoshop file to a Pantone Black. Now it's easy to duplicate the black layer and rename it as a spot black and then just delete the normal black layer. The problem I'm having though, is that the image has a transparent background with different levels of transparency, and as soon as I delete the original process black channel it completely flattens the image so I lost all transparency. Does anyone know if there's an easy way to replace the channel without losing transparency, or if there is any way to store the transparency of the image so I can delete it out of the background again after I've replaced the black channel? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, sorry. I did say layer where I meant channel. I'm just trying to replace the black channel in the CMYK with a spot colour. But that changes the transparent .psd into a multichannel file, which then flattens the image onto a white background and loses all transparency. All I want to know is if there is a way to create a multichannel image with transparency in photoshop. Unfortunately I can't post the image yet, as the packaging upgrade is not in market yet. I've found a workaround for now, but once the product is in market I'll upload some screenshots to see if there is a way we can figure it out, or I'll create a different image some time when I have a chance.

What's a polymorphic terminal and why can't I change the colour of an LED?

Hi,
I've written a small vi to experiment with changing the
colour of an LED from the front panel by the user. (See attached.)
I've created a property node for the LED indicator and selected the 'Colors[4]' property.
I've then selected the 0th element of the array using 'Index Array' and used this as the cluster type on 'Bundle By Name' but no names appear in the elements.
When I then try to wire a colour box to the input of Bundle By Name I get a broken wire and the message: "This wire connects to a polymorphic terminal that cannot accept this data type".
And yet when I hold the mouse over the wire from the output of index array so it's just looking at one element of the colors[4] array in the help window I'm told it's a cluster made up of two U32's. Individually these are the same data type as the output from the colour box.
What's a polymorphic data type and what's the correct way to wire from the colour selection box to the Colors[4] property of the LED so the colour can be changed?
Any help much appreciated.

Dave,
A couple of comments.
As CC said, you need to use the plain bundle node.
If you want to change the "ON" color, you need element 1, not zero.
Property operations should only be done exacly once whenever something changes, not 10000 times/second. Use an event structure.

How can I programmatically change the colour of tab pages? If not, when?

I have found that in LabVIEW 6.0.2 the "Dialog" tab control cannot be coloured, but the other type of tab control one can be coloured by the paintbrush tool. I cannot find any property node to programmtically set the colour of the enitre tab control or individual pages. When will these properties be available in LabVIEW?

The dialog controls and indicators are designed
specifically for use in dialog boxes. These controls inherit their color from the colors you set in Control Panel >> Display. Because of this you will not be able to programmatically change their color.

Changing the colours in a logo

A client of mine has supplied me with a logo, but asked if I
can change its colours to fit in with a new website design.
I've managed to change most of it OK where solid colour is
used, but not sure how to easily change the colours on the edges to
soften them.
I've posted the logo here to show what I mean. The darker
colour on the right is pretty much OK, but the orange edges are
particularly bad.
Any pointers or help with this would be much appreciated.

Use the Subselection tool for altering control points in an
FW vector.
To extend the control arms for a control point, click k the
point with
the Pen tool and drag away from the point. You should not get
additional
points on the path by doing this.
In FW CS4, the Path panel gives you a lot of control over
vector points
and paths. It's worth checking out.

Best way to draw an asset if I want to change the colour of it?

If I draw something manually, can I still change the colour by actionscript?
I want to draw a cat, and the cat colour depends on the the user choice in the previous 'screen'. How should I go about this?

Yes, there are a couple ways. You can use the ColorTransform class. Or you can use one of the Tweening engines - it's really easy to tint objects using TweenLite. You can even test in the demo at http://blog.greensock.com/tweenlite/
Scroll down a bit to the demo... pick a color in the tint box and hit Tween.

Why my calender changes the colour?

I'm using iCal on my iPhone 5 and my iPad 3. Since today iCal started to change the colour of one of my eight calendars. Everytime I change the colour on my iPhone, my iPad or at iCloud, iCal undos it back. Why does this occur?

My calendar is doing the same thing, except that it's doing it on my Macbook Pro. Beginning Monday morning, the colors for my Work and Home calendars shared using iCloud, changed on their own and when I changed them back to green and yellow, respectively, iCloud changed them again. This problem also caused Daylite 4.3 to crash, which then caused Marketcircle to have to put out a patch the same day (Monday). Why did Apple find it necessary to do this? Seems I can either share my calendar with my iPhone and iPad and accept the ugly colors Apple chose, or I can not share my calendars and choose my own colors. Not really a solution.

I am using Keynote 6.2.2. I have prepared a chart which displays the quarterly income (as a points on a line) and expenditure (as bars) for the past 3 years. You need to change to; plot columns:
select the chart
click the Edit Chart Data button

How can I easily change black line art to a colour? (Or color?)

I have line art on a transparent layer. That is, it's not part of a white layer, but just black on nothing. I want to easily change that to a colour without changing the quality of the line. I know I can put a screen layer above it with a colour and that makes the black coloured, but it only shows up if I flatten it on to white. Otherwise, that's exactly the look I want, just not on a flattened white layer. I need to keep the line on the transparent layer so that I can paint under it, so I can't flatten it on to white. I also don't want to select the line and fill it as that significantly changes the quality of the line. I just want to change the colour of the line without chaning it's density, or any pixels. Any idea how to do this?

I believe your layer with lines has pure black pixels with transparency producing it's gray appearance. An adjustment can't make black blacker than black
A mask is grayscale without transparency. So if you convert the transparency to a mask, you have grayscale pixels in the mask which can be affected by an adjustment. The result will be a change in the appearance of the masked layer.

Can i change the colour of my scrolling texts from FCPX

i have a scrolling texts created at the end of my video clips in FCPX.
in this credit scrolling texts, i want to show the names of singers and their songs.
I also want to display them in different colour.
SINGERS white colour
SONGS red
i highlight the songs' names and changed to red
but what happen in FCP is all the texts after the one i highlighted become red.
just wonder if i want to do such thing.
Do I need Motion5?
Also FCPX seems not able to let me enter any RGB vales.
Can Motion let me do that?

i finally did it.
i needed to double click my title texts in VIEWER to change colour to particular texts.
this's a good new to me.
i know this's not a FCP forum, i posted a question there and post the same question here. I thought maybe i can only do this in Motion.
now i know i can do it. It seems to me I can only do it if i double click my title texts in VIEWER.
i'm still not able to do what i want in TEXT inspector. i can change the colour but this always ends up changing colour for all the texts.
if you don't mind, i have few more questions:
after i double click the text in the VIEWER, a bounding box appears. i can do anything within the text box.
how can i get rid of the bounding box after i've done my edit. i always click on the inspector button to close off anything.
now i can change the colour, can FCPX let me enter any RBG valves.
I can pick a colour in the colour panel, it seems i can't enter any particular vales i want.
don't know if you know the answer or not.

How can I change the colour of the tools?

I want to change the colour of the blue box next to the word diabc. The blue field is a tool with you can change the text. I know how to change one field at a time but I want to change the standard settigns, so that I don't have to change it field for field. I can't find it anywhere. I have found some information about changing the tool bars, but you can't change this tool I use. Only others.
Who can help me? I have Adobe Acrobat 9 pro extended. I use the Dutch version, so some things may have a different name.

I hope you can see it now. It's a bit difficult to make a picture from my print screen, because I don't have the right programs at my computer at work.
The menu is in Dutch. But I don't have so many options as you have. If I go to 'eigenschappen' (in English properties) I get this menu. In this menu you can change the colour, but Adobe doesnt' remember this, so you have to change it every time. And that's quite a lot of work if you want to do this. and recently started to use JDK 1.2 instead of JDK 1.1.7.
So, I set [start]-[weblogic]-[Choose1.2JRE] in environment.
and then, if I execute T3Server, the message of

I can't change the colour of linked text?

I have a black background on the side of my web page containing the menu bars which requires the link text to be white so it can be
seen. I also have it set to change to yellow when you hover over it.
The problem is that this setting seems universal throughout the website and I cannot get the links in general text (such as 'contact
us' links, etc) on each page to change colour - they default to white which doesn't show up as the background is also white.
i have tried creating a CSS rule for links in the body of a page but to no avail.
