Can I edit the size of my photo when setting up an email signature?

Not sure what you mean by "photo screen?" Do you mean your Photo Stream?
In the Photos app there are several ways to view the photos. Tap on Albums. Your Photo Stream is one Album but there may be others including the Camera Roll, albums made on the iPad with photos from the Camera Roll, and albums of photos copied to your iPhone by syncing with your computer.
To remove albums from the Camera Roll, tap on the Camera Roll album to see the small thumbnails of the photos there. Tap on Select, tap on the photos to delete, then tap on the trashcan. The photos will then be moved to another album called Recently Deleted. They remain there for 30 days to allow you time to reconsider whether you really want to delete them or not. After 30 days they will automatically be deleted from your iPhone. But if you are sure you want the photos deleted from your iPhone delete them again from the Recently Deleted album.
Albums created on the iPad with photos from the Camera Roll can be deleted in the same way.
To delete albums copied to your iPhone by syncing with your computer running iTunes are deleted by doing another sync. But before you click on Sync deselect the albums in iTunes. Then when you click on Apply or Sync the albums will be removed from your iPhone but they will remain on your computer.

How can I reduce the size of a photo PROPORTIONALLY?  With my old Macmini I was able to place the pointer on the bottom right corner of the picture, hold down the shift key and move the pointer to achieve the desired size.

You'll need to use a 3rd party editor like one of these:
Some Image Editors That Support layers:
    Photoshop Elements 11 for Mac - $79
    Rainbow Painter - $30
    Imagerie - $38
    Acorn - $50
    Pixelmator - $60
    Seashore - Free
    Portraits and Prints - Free
    GIMP for Mac - Free
    Xee 2.1 - free
My personal preference would be for Photoshop Elements for Mac. Most of these will let you select and copy a head from one photo, paste it into another photo, resize and place where you need it.
PSE has a specific feature just for that function.  I belive the Adobe site for PSE has a demo video of that feature.

  • Can I change the size of a photo image to less than 6KB?

I am trying to reduce the image size on i photo to less than 6KB or to less than 80x80pixels,
on a photo that was imported from photo booth, is that possible?

You can certianly get the 80 x 80. Crop the image to square, then File -> Export and you can set the maximum dimension in the Size field in the Export dialogue.

  • How can I keep the order of my photos when I synch them with my iPad

Prior to transferring my photos to my iPad, I arrange the photos in a specific order.  Once the transfer to my iPad is complete, the sequence/ordering of the photos from the Album/Event never stays in tact.  I am using iTunes to manage the transfer process.  Is there a trick to making the photos all transfer in the order they were originally placed?

Thanks for the quick response.  Sorry about the lack of info.  I am using iPhoto to compile and arrange my photos.  I am using IOS 8.1.3  on my iPad.  I went as far as to include the sequence number for each photo in hopes it would sort by sequence.  But if it is by capture date etc... then I guess that won't help.  I wasn't aware that you could rearrange the order of your photos once they had transferred to the iPad.  I guess I could also create a slideshow of the photos and synch it with the iPad..  That should maintain the order...  Thanks again..

Some of my photos in Iphoto turn blank (white) when I tried to edit the size like zoon in and out.Can someone help me on this?

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Why does the size of my photos reduce to 0mb after editing in iPhoto?

Please bear with me here.  I am a new Mac user (MacBook Pro, 2008, OSX 10.7.5), as well as not the most technologically competent person in the world, so I might need a little patience and additional questions to help me understand everything!
After a recent trip to Europe, I imported photos that I had taken with two different cameras into iPhoto ('09, version 8.1.2).  All the photos that I took with my Canon Rebel t2i DSLR have not had the problem I'm about to describe, in the past or with photos from this trip.  The problem has been only from pictures that I took and uploaded from my husband's Nikon Coolpix L610 point and shoot.  Not sure if this will matter, but the mode I was shooting in was 16M (4608x3456) which appears to be the "best" quality for this camera.
As I was going through my photos and editing them (mostly minor edits, cropping, straightening, enhancing, altering the sharpness/exposure/definition/saturation), I noticed the size of my photos decreasing, as described in the information box in the lower left hand corner of the screen.  With at least 30+ pictures of the ones I have tried editing (this isn't counting the hundreds more that I have yet to start editing), the file size dropped to 0MB, some after one edit as simple as straightening, others taking 2 or more minor edits to drop to 0.  The picture is still there in the multiphoto view (in Photos section under Library), but if I try to click on the picture to view it larger, it just shows up as a black screen.
For example, one picture I have showed a size of 4608 x 3456 and 7.6 MB.  When I did one edit (enhance photo), the 4608 x 3456 stayed the same, but the 7.6MB changed to 0KB.  For others, it will decrease some with one edit, then drop down to 0 if I do additional edits.  Most of my pictures are in the 4-10MB range in their original form (no edits).  I'm assuming that I was shooting in jpeg mode, since that's what they uploaded as.  (I've read on here of other people shooting in RAW mode and such, but I don't even think this camera has that capability).  I read some other boards with similar questions, but not the exact same problem as I'm facing.  I know that there is "jpeg compression" with jpeg files when editing.
So I guess my question is this:  Is there anything I can do to stop this reduction down to 0?  I will only be printing out a few of these pictures, and most in a 4x6 or 5x7 size.  I'm more concerned with being able to post them to Facebook for my family, who lives far away.  When the file size is 0KB, it won't upload because it doesn't even register as there being a picture and if I try it anyway, it gives me an error message, something along the lines of not supporting this format (or something similar, has been a couple days since I last tried).
I read something one of the similar boards that mentioned saving the edited photos as TIFF files, but it also mentioned that that takes up a lot more disk space, which I'm not sure if I want to (or have the space to) do.  (Side question:  If I did check the box in Preferences --->Advanced "Save edits as 16-bit TIFF files, would that do that to every picture in my library that I have edited?)
As I said, I'm new to this whole Mac stuff (been using it for just under a year, given to me by my brother-in-law after my computer died), so please use as much layman lingo as possible!  And thank you in advance for anyone that can give me any insight and/or advice!

None of my pictures that I uploaded into iPhoto are in my Finder under Pictures.  Should I copy and paste my folders from iPhoto into here, in case something happens to my iPhoto program (in addition to backing them up onto an external hard drive like I already do)?
No, that's just wasting space.  A back up needs to be on a different disk.
Your photos are within the iPhoto Library.

  • Can I edit image size in the TOC?

Is it possible to edit the size of the image placeholder used for the TOC in CP5?
I'd like to use it for a company logo to free up some design space and keep marketing happy, but I can't make it big enough.
Unfortunately I don't have access to Flash so if there is an alternative way that would be great.
    Thanks
    Sam

    Hi,
Unfortunately, it is not possible to edit the size of the image placeholder in TOC in Captivate 5. The image is scaled down to project size and displayed in the TOC.
You could please log a Feature Request for the same under https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&product=5.
    Thanks,

  • Can you increase the brightness of a photo in order to edit and then return to the original brighten

Can you increase the brightness of a photo temporarily while editing in PS and then return to the original brightness.  My problem is that I want to delete some objects in my photo and can hardly see them.

Awesome--some of my menu choices were not the same so I had to guess but I did it and it preserved the original brightness.
    My path:
View->Proof Setup->Custom->Device to simulate: sRGB ice (bunch of nos.)->Preserve no. set on
And Voila!  it returned me to my orignal colors and brightness and maintained the other changes I made.
    Thank you.

  • How can I reduce the size of the MASTERS folder inside Photos?

I was trying to find out why my Photos app database is SO large.  I have 8 gig of jpg photos.
I chose to NOT copy them when I imported them into Photos.
Yet my Photos app database is 8g as well!  That's a lot of space to use when I didn't even copy the JPG into it.
So I went hunting to learn what was going on.
You can go to your Pictures Folder and find the Photos Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
    Here is what I found:
The "Masters" folder is very small.  300MB.
The "Previews" folder is a similar size.
    "Thumbnails" are under 1G.
It's the "Resources" folder that is many gigs in size.
Very interesting.  So in a sense, it could be even worse!
That is, apparently the setting prevented the "Masters" folder from getting 8 gig of photos copied into it.
But even so, "Resources" ended up with 6.5G in it -- even though no files were copied!
    Wild.
Other photo management apps (e.g., Lightroom) have sort of a 10% overhead, not a 90% overhead -- i.e., close to the same size as the actual photos themselves.
I should probably start a fresh question, now that you have solved half the mystery:  Yes, the actual photos were not imported into Masters, but Resources gets really big!
So here is my question:  What the heck is going on with RESOURCES?  How can I make that folder smaller?  I mean, at this point, if I were to choose to import all my photos, it looks like that would double the size of my Photos installation.  Of course, I'm not going to do that.  Because, already, I don't have enough space for everything on my hard drive.  And Photos, even when not importing, takes up a lot of space.
I need to get this folder under control.  How can I?

    Cool article, but not relevant.
I did not import from iPhoto nor Aperture.
I have my photos as JPEG files in a folder on my hard drive.
Photos, the app, did not make any duplicates. Rather, it made a giant Resources folder, almost as big as my folder of Image files.
FInder Info confirms the size increase and lost capacity on my hard drive.
But I appreciate the link.  That could certainly give someone the same impression.

What format are they? Tiif? Jpeg? You can compress them with a lot of apps - including Preivew and just about any graphics editor out there. I'm not sure that 45mb would crash iPhoto thogh, are yo sure that's the cause? I know that some folks have mentioned pixel dimensions causing issues, as can color profiles.

I moved some pictures from my photo stream to an album in iPhoto.  The photo stream icon didn't disappear and I can't edit the picture .

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Moving photos from photostream to your library just imports them, it doesn't remove it from photostream, therefore photostream won't disappear.
Photos in photostream can't be edited, you can only edit photos that have been imported from photostream.

  • How can I fix the text in my photo book that reads"your default text had not been edited. Printed books will not include this text?"

How can I fix the text in my photo book that reads"your default text had not been edited. Printed books will not include this text?"

You will get this warning, if your book includes textboxes that still include the default text, like "Insert Title". You need to find these boxes and add your own text.  Look for boxes like this:
Make a PDF-preview of your book and look, where the preview differs from what you are seeing in iPhoto.
iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture

  • I have a new Nikon D750 sitting on my desk and can't edit the photos with any adobe product?  We are in full wedding season and am a little frustrated.  Photo mechanics opens them right up to download them.   I am using the Nikon software to convert them

I have a new Nikon D750 sitting on my desk and can't edit the photos with any adobe product?  We are in full wedding season and am a little frustrated.  Photo mechanics opens them right up to download them.   I am using the Nikon software to convert them into tiffs.  when is the camera raw update coming out.  I am not the only photographer with this issue check out all the chatter about it.

This happens every single time a new camera comes out from one of the two big camera makers. Nikon and Canon do not send preproduction units to Adobe, so Adobe has to go out and buy a D750 or whatever from the store to test and profile it before they can update Lightroom. They can't get one earlier than you and I can. The profiling is quite an extensive operation. Other camera makers do send preproduction units, use dng, or do the profiling in-house and there you often get support right from release. If camera makers would finally embrace an open raw format such as dng, this whole problem would be gone but both Canon and Nikon seem to think they live in an upside-down world where their clients only use their software.
Usually the dead period only lasts a few weeks but it is frustrating nevertheless. My only advice is to not buy a new camera at the day of release and expect to have third parties to support it. You definitely should not be buying these cameras right away if your business depends on it. Aperture, Capture One, etc. have the exact same problem. No third party (read non-Nikon in this case) will support the camera from the release date. Some are quicker than other adding support. Adobe is somewhere in the middle of the pack in this respect. Nobody outside of Adobe knows when an update comes out. Could be tomorrow, could be a few more weeks or a month. They might jump straight to Lightroom 6 and never add direct support to LR 5. Sometimes they will first bring out a beta version of dng converter that will convert the new camera's nef files to dng, which will work fine in the current Lightroom before updating Lightroom itself.
