Can I email photos w/o templates Iphoto provides? I used to be able to choose a few photos and email them. Now I have to work with these templates and can barely see what I'm writing!

LR 5 - using it on a MAC-
Error message: "the following files were not imported because they could not be read (335).
I have been working with several forums and have tried all recommendations and none have worked.

It seems to be a problem between LR and Yosemite.The permissions have been changed on the destination folder where the photos are to be copied into.
You must make sure that the permissions are set to Read and Write.
Or perhaps the destination folder has been changed accidentally to something else, and you need to change it back to whatever it used to be. -
I had a repair done on my MacBook Pro and had to have a new hard drive installed. The Apple Auth Repair Shop then updated the OS from 10.6.8 to 10.7.5. Now my iPhoto v 9.2.3 will not open and it sounds like it will not work with this OS. Can you please advise?
You may need many other updates to retain compatibility with Lion. I suggest you reinstall Snow Leopard. Unfortunately, you will need to erase the drive first. Be sure to backup your data if you haven't done so already.
Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer. Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the "C" key. Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.) Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. After you finish Setup Assistant will complete the installation after which
you will be running a fresh install of OS X. You can now begin the update process
by opening Software Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your
installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. -
I have an apple id which I have been happily using to purchase from iTunes and it appears magically on iPad and iPhone, MacBook and partner's iPod touch. Now I have done something wrong in iCloud and my mobile me Id comes up on iPhone and iPad so I can no longer purchase using this and i can't find a way to reset What should I do? I want to be able to buy apps from iPhone and iPad from this same account and still synch with my mac book and share with my partner's iPod touch.
Any suggestions?We are users, not Apple. We cannot trace your phone, and neither can Apple.
Please change every password you have. Posting your email addresses and Apple IDs on a public forum is insane. Hopefully a Mod will edit them out for you. -
I could read Burmese font with Zawgyi Font in my previous Mac Book with Lion. I have MacAir Retina display with MountainLion and could not read Burmese fonts. Font books have 3 fonts for Burmese font and all are enable. Please help

You want to transfer the catalog file to the new desktop using your operating system, and open that by double-clicking on it. Then reconnect the photos to Lightroom (if necessary) by these instructions: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders

However, you only can download the current version of app.
- For apps your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync. -
I can't understand why all of a sudden the display on my computer got all darkened, and I have to tilt the computer to barely see what I'm writing or the icons. I tried the brightening the screen but it didn't work so I'm concerned on what's going on....

I like the mail feature with one exception; I cannot figure out how to change the font size of incoming mail permanently. And, when answering an email I have to highlight the first few words and zoom it so I can see what I am writing. what am I missing?
You can type the email using what you set in preferences and then highlight the text and use command - minus sign (or command - + for larger) to reduce the size of the text.
You can also type command - T and a window will appear allowing you to select fonts/sizes/color/ background highlight.
The above works in Notes also. I haven't tried to do this in any other Apple application.
For incoming emails, you can use the above to reduce font size, but I don't know of a way to permanently set the incoming font size to a default. -
Just Installed Iwork. Can´t see what I am Writing? although the letter color is black!
I Have Just installed Iwork. And for some reason I cannot see what I am writing! The only color that seems to work is blue!
I don't have anything wireless so that is not the problem....

It is best to use the downloadable "Combo" versions to update your system as it fully patches errors in the System like those you seem to be experiencing. The Software updater is fine for everything else and will automatically detect what needs updating.

I cannot access iPhoto now I have upgraded to Yosemite. Not available in UK! What can I do? I have hundreds of photos I need access to and more to save on my computer.
iPhoto should be still in your Applications folder and will still work. But if you failed to keep it up to date then Try Terence's instructions here Is Iphoto gone ?i want it back!

I have been working on a book and have 418 photos already in my book. All of a sudden I cannot access the book module and clicking on the multiple view, spread view, or single view does not take me back to the book I have been working on. I can no longer see my book although I still see the collection with 418 photos under collections. What I do see is a blank template for a new book and I can't find the unfinished book I started with 418 photos. It is like the new empty template is somehow covering it up. How do I get back to the book I have been working on?
Is it possible you mistakenly clicked on a [Clear Layout] button?
But a great hint is- Always click on the [Create a Saved Book] button, early in your new book design.
Then you have a permanent link to the book in the Collections panel. (In addition to the standard collection of your selected images)
Note: a Book Collection shows an icon that looks like a book.
Every time you come back to edit the book, open the Book Module by clicking on the white arrow that appears on the end of your Book Collection title. (The title as saved)
Re-opening a book without using the "Saved Book" option can have unpredictable results.
A "Book" Collection is like a "Smart Collection" because anything you do to the book design, change pages, change images, etc, is automatically updated in the Saved Book collection. -
First, how do I create my own favorite theme template for DVD slideshows? I used to be able to select this from pulldown menu, but cannot now do so. I am directed straight to already existing themes, which take more memory. I have a large slideshow, and need all the space I can get. I just want to use a picture as my DVD cover, and then insert a slideshow. Also, when I try to burn my 8.5gb double sided slideshow, all that burns is the music. It is a large slideshow, a memorial on the life of my now deceased brother. This means a lot to me and to my family, and I am having so much trouble trying to burn it. I have gone into Project View and selected appropriately. The bar shows I have room to burn this DVD, but it does not burn. I have burned so many DVDs in the past, but this one just will not burn. I am so confused at this point. I will say this is the first 8.5gb I have attempted to create and burn. My specs list a 7.7gb or 4.7gb as operable....but there are no 7.7gb dvds. I had to purchase 8.5gb. Help? What am I doing wrong? I have spent so much time on this, and just cannot figure it out.
Final Cut is a separate, higher end video editor. The pro version of iMovie.
Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow. It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them. You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version). Personal preferences showing here. -
I cant seem to open some photos on Iphoto. I downloaded like 3 months ago from my phone into the iphoto. I could access ALL of my photos back then but when I try and access them now I cant seem to open the file. When i open iphoto and open the folder thats on it, i can see ALL the photos that are there but when I click on different ones some appear in the larger screen but A LOT of them dont appear. Iphoto seems to have erased the file or I dont know.
Also I tried clicking on the photo that doesnt appear and making it "Reveal it on finder" - "original file" and it says 'The operation can’t be completed because the item can’t be found.".
I really want those photos because they involve a really special family vacation, please help me find those photosA LOT of them dont appear.
What do you see in the window when you click on those? A blank, black window? An exclamation mark? What? -

My daughter will often ask me to give her raw files I've taken at family events so that she can process them in her own copy of LR. (I work too slowly, apparently.) Recently I inadvertently cut instead of copied a folder. When I pasted it back I could see it in Windows Explorer but not in my LR library. I thought that re-importing the files might work, LR gave me a message that they were already imported. I expect there is a way to make the files available again in LR and would be grateful for some advice.

Copy the photos back into the exact same folder and folder location that they were in before
I don't know what you actually did "when I pasted it back" ... but the bigger issue is that you shouldn't be working with these files in your operating system, period. Once you import them into Lightroom, you don't manage these files in your operating system.
