Can I embed a link in a component?

Mac G5, final Tiger, GL CS (not CS2).
I need to place a link on many pages that will return the viewer to the home page, index.html.
I plan to create a simple graphic shape in ID, convert it as necessary to a Smart Object, and save it as a component. I will then need to link it to the home page.
Question is, once I link it as a component, will it retain that link each time I bring it into a page? Or will I have to create that link each and every time I bring in that graphic component?
I think, once I give the component the link, it retains that link in every instance. But not sure.

About to do the prelim work today Sunday.
Maybe you know a shortcut or proper sequence of events to do the following:
Create a graphic element in InDesign.
    (I refuse, by the way, to call it "a graphic," which is an anathema use
of the word to an "experienced" designer.)
    (I refuse, also, to use the word "shrink" an item's dimensions. The
proper term is "reduce.")
Back to my question:
Then save it as a PDF.
Bring it into GoLive.
    I've found that it can't be brought into the proper folder via the
Finder. It has to be brought from the Finder into the Site Window itself.
Try to place it in a page as a Smart Object or as a Component.
It then brings up the Optimize dialog.
Optimize and Save the (now former) PDF as a .jpg or .gif..
Can you focus that or improve on it? I have done it a few times, widely
spaced in time, and that is what I THINK is proper sequence. I'd like to
systematize it a bit more.

1) You can to change language vendor in transaction xk02 with the vendor number and on Address screen you go to Communication tab and change the language there.

Okay, so I can't embed it…I want to be sure I'm including the URL in the most effective way, Do I just put the URL in a text box as I would any text or is there another way to put the URL in? Also can I make the link hot so the reader can just click it?

Ah! that makes total sense now. I was beginning to scratch my head thinking "how could such an obviously necessary feature be missing from what a paying customer can do" and then I was this.
Ofcourse only an enterprise should want its clients to be able to click a hyperlink during the signing process for information on legal or other matters.
A standard lowest of the low basic package should never want or need such a feature. Good stuff, Adobe. Thank you for the quick turnaround as well.

How can I properly embed deep links that contain http: twice

We have an online bookstore where we need to embed deep links to a booktopia page. I have tested the links given to us by the affiliate program (DGM performace) and they work perfectly but when I embed them into muse and hit publish they give me a server not found page.

I have established that this seems to be an error in the way muse is interpretting the link (or maybe business catalyst) as the link I paste into muse is:

You can't have two http in a URL. Why do you have two? Try taking one out.

As far as I know, the only way to embed other GUIs in LabView is an ActiveX in a container.

I know i shouldnt compare, but in Articulate Story Line, you are able to add 'resourses' into the project which sit alongside the eLearning to provide further reading.
Can you do this in Captivate? but without it linking to an external sourse such as local or shared drive?

I'm not a Cp expert, but it seems to me that there's no sense in simply trying to stick a pdf document in the Scorm package. What good would that do? The file would be in the package, but that doesn't mean it would be 'embedded in the project' in any meaningful sense of the term.
I don't know of any way to embed a pdf document directly into a Cp project. But couldn't you simply convert the pdf file into an image (jpeg or gif)? This you could easily insert in your project. It would be inserted as a standard object. And then you could do all the nice things that you can do with any object: put it on slide to be accessed only if the participant wants to view it; use effects so that it enters nicely; add annotation . . . the sky's the limit.
Does this help at all, or am I on the wrong track?

i would like to embed a smartform into the component to display the relevant information of complaint in WEB UI.
In complaints when i clicked on complaint ID it is not not displaying any details? So i would like to add a smart form to the component to display all the details. Please help me how to add the smartform into the component?

Hi pavan,
I did not try this but I think you can call the smatforms function module and get the form in html from parameter JOB_OUTPUT_INFO-XMLOUTPUT-TRFRESULT.

Currently there is no way to pass data from non-WebDynpro application to WebDynpro application.
The only options are start-up parameters and portal eventing, both are inappropriate for your scenario.
Why not to use regular WebDynpro component with IWDFileUpload control?
