Can I exchange my iPhone 5 for a new one?
I bought my iPhone 5 the day it came out (September 20, 2013) so I have had it for a little more than two years and it still works perfectly. I was just wondering how upgrades work in terms of me being able to trade in my iPhone 5 for a more recent model like the iPhone 6 and when and if I am able to do it. I haven't been to an Apple store in a while and I haven't had the time to, although I would imagine they would be able to answer my question easily.

To add to what AnyPats stated, Apple DOES (on occasion) purchase older devices for store credit (amount depending on the condition and memory size of the device). You would need to visit a retail store to see if your phone would be accepted.

So I bought this iPhone 5 probably a year ago now, and I want to exchange it for a new iPhone 5, or if possible an iPhone 5s (if they don't have iPhone 5 anymore), idk.

But a friend here in Mexico actually just exchanged his and they didn't charged him a thing. Is this also the same in the US? Can I exchange it here in Mexico? You will have to talk with Apple to see if you get all components or just the iPhone replaced.
With AppleCare+ you can have two out-of-warranty replacements for a cost of $49 each. -

Contact your wireless carrier, or use Apple's recycling program, or sell it to someone else. The cost of doing this varies.

Apple does not offer an exchange program.
Physical damage (scratches) are not covered under the warranty.
If you desire a blemish free iPhone, buy a new one at full price then sell your current one to recoup some of the costs. -

Hey guys, I am with AT&T since november 2012...I am on a 2 year contract and got an iPhone 5...I am really enjoying the phone and iOS in general.
I have a question if I can exchange my current iPhone 5 for a brand new iPhone 5...I am still under 1 year factory warranty.
I was at my friends house one day...and by accident my phone fell from a 5th floor...it got a few dings...around the metal plated area...and I got really lucky because the phone lended on a grass...but some mud got stuck in a speaker area and the headphone jack area...gabtron5000 wrote:

An iPhone is supported only in the country in which the iPhone was originally sold. If you are living in a country other than the one in which you purchased the iPhone, you will not be able to get service there. You will need to take the iPhone back to its original country or send it to someone you know there to get it replaced.
As to the process, that will depend on the country of sale and from where you purchased the iPhone. If you can clarify that, we can provide more specfic information.

I just exchanged a faulty iPhone 4 for a new one, when I got home to restore it, iCloud says "cannot restore backup". Can somebody please help provide much needed advice? Thanks in advance!
Yep, that's the only message that popped out. Nothing else. Yes, it's running on the latest ios and I still can't restore it. I called apple and they told me it's probably something wrong with their servers. Anyway thanks for the advice.

You can always pre-order your new iPhone online and then start the mail in rebate by following this link: http://bit.ly/GGnDDC Or you can always go into the store location and do it all in store on the 19th when the phone is launched. No. Your "problem" isn't covered by the warranty. It's not malfunctioning. It's working exactly as it was designed to. Sell your phone and use the proceeds to buy a new one.
You can't get a replacement from your car just because the newer models off the line are being built with a feature yours didn't come with. -

Apple does not take trade-ins. You'll have to look for a dealer that does, though you'll probably get more for the iPad 1 if you sell it yourself.

Got my S5 last week and installed my old SIM card from my previous phone as per the Verizon instructions. Now I am seeing messages on certain apps that say things like "to use Softcard, your phone needs a new SIM". Suncrow, congratulations on your upgrade to a new Samsung Galaxy S5! We recommend that you use the new sim card that came with your device. Just power it off and insert the new card. Your device will automatically start the activation process and complete on it's own. Keep us posted.

Does anyone know if you can swap a black iPhone 5 for a white one?
I've had the phone for about 3 months.. Decided I really don't like it in black but no one I know will swap, is it likely that the apple store would swap it? It does have a few problems, such as freezing and restarting itself a lot but I never felt it would be good enough reason for them to swap the phone for a new one!
Your iPhone is far past the return period, and that would be the only way, to return it and get the white one. So, it cannot be exchanged. If you get a replacement due to the issues, it would be the same model, including the color.

Why do you want to replace it? Is is defective? If there is a legitimate defect, Apple will replace it via warranty after evaluation. If you want to return the phone, I believe you have 30 days from the date of purchase to return it.
If you want to exchange it, sell your phone and buy another. -

Apple does not have a trade-in program. You can either try and restore your iPod, or you can try and sell it yourself. In some locations, Apple does provide for a recycling program, but the amount provided for devices is quite low.
