Can I export macro lists using scripting?

I work at a business newspaper and we create a index of all company names at the end of each edition. However, in order to make the process of confirming uniformity between company names in the index and company names as they appear in a story it would be nice to export a text macro list to our network so that all reporters could use the same code for, let's say" "Example Co." Is this possible using scripting?
Thanks,

Hello,
You should export the data of the 8i database using the *8i* export utility.
Then, you import the generated dump to the 10g database with the *10g* import utility.
Else, you may care of the character set so as to avoid conversion.
Sorry Azar, I didn't see that you answered already.
Hope this help.
Best regards,
Jean-Valentin

    Hi Mave,
    If yours is an ALV list, you can create your own custom button in the application toolbar for Export and using ALV event handling, you can implement the functionality to be incorporated in the custom export button. In the implementation, you can create a screen with table control and then the same internal table data used to display the list can be used to transfer data into the table control.

  • Can you hide a layers using scripting?

    I have a very complex graphic with many elements and I would like to find a way to hide layers based on a list.  In the documentation that there is a way to tell if a layer is hidden, but didn't see anything about a way to actually to control the hide/unhide property.  Is this possible?
    Thanks!

    Thanks Larry,
    The script came back with an error on this line:
    var ilayer = doc.layers("AuthorLine")
    Error message was:
    "Layers() is not a function."
    (If it matters, I am using Adobe Illustrator CS5.1.   I'm not sure if the functions are substantially different.)

  • Can't properly save and use script (Perl) files

    I can't get Perl scripts in my path to properly run under Mac OS X (10.5.2). I'm using Smultron to edit the files, and have also taken them into nano via Terminal and saved both as DOS and Mac formats. When I save as DOS, I get this when I run the file:
    /usr/bin/perl^M: bad interpreter: No such file or directory
    I assume it's having problem interpreting the DOS CR/LF character and shows "^M" as a result. When I save in "Mac" format, the script does nothing (not even an error) when I run it. If I cat the Mac formatted script, it doesn't display properly:
    $ cat perlscript.pl
    $ FG,SWITCHCFG); shutports/ig) {(.+)/ig) {
    (You're seeing a tiny portion of the script there; not even the end of it - but that's all it shows.) If I save in the DOS format, I can workaround the problem by running it as "perl path/scriptname.pl"; this eliminates the misinterpretation of !#user/bin/perl^M above. What am I doing wrong? Can I not run perl scripts that are in my path without typing the longhand "perl pathlist/filename"? Thanks.

    Yes, it's executable; it tries to execute either way.
    The Unix LF through Smultron seemed to work. However, I don't see such an option in nano - only Mac and DOS. (I'm not too concerned, I'm pretty sure I"ll use Smultron on a regular basis to edit these files.)

  • Chapter (marker) list-how to export the list

    Can you export chapter lists to paper??? Or do yoiu have to just write them down one at a time

    When I provide feedback, I sometimes attempt to discern the users intent when I give my reply. For example, I could have just posted "Use Metadata Hootenanny". But, I was attempting to discern if you were using those scripts because you WANTED to, or because you didn't know about Metadata Hootenanny, which is a much easier and a lot more straightforward way of creating Chapter tracks.
    You may just want to ignore my prior statement and take the below as it's rewrite.
    You might find it easier to use Metadata Hootennanny (unless you prefer to use the "Script Collection").

  • Using scripting with networking equipment under Windows

    It can be a challenge to use scripting to automate working with Cisco devices. The Cisco IOS does not seem to directly provide a command line interface. You are forced to find a way to automate interaction with a telnet or ssh session.
    The PERL language provides a number of object-oriented methods to help manage an interactive session, most notably Net::SSH::Expect and Net::Appliance::Session. These options can work well in a Unix environment, but not under MS Windows.
    There are PERL for Windows options, the best probably being Strawberry PERL. There is also a Unix under Windows option known as CYGWIN that is freely available. Unfortunately none of these will work well with the way Windows manages low-level terminal I/O. The curious can google "windows pseudo terminal" to see all the technical details.
    One way that does work under Windows is Tcl.  It was initially named Tool Command Language. It is sometimes shown as Tcl/Tk.
    Interestingly enough, Tcl is included within Cisco IOS as tclsh. There is no interaction with the tclsh and this example. It is just a bit of a curious coincidence.
    A Tcl port to Windows can be downloaded from http://www.activestate.com/activetcl/downloads. Select Download ActiveTCL for Windows. A direct link to the download that worked at the time of writing is Download ActiveTcl 8.5.14 for Windows (x86)
    Once base Tcl has been downloaded and installed there is one other component that will need to be installed from the Tcl Extension Archive, the expect package.
    The teacup program that is installed with the base Tcl package makes this easy. The teacup program will work with a proxy.
    You can set these Windows environment variables to specify proxy details:
    set http_proxy=
    set http_proxy_user=
    set http_proxy_pass=
    Then run teacup install expect
    The plink tool from the PuTTY download is also needed. It can be obtained from http://www.putty.org/.
    The sample that follows assumes that the data files, script and plink.exe executable all reside in the same directory.
    A sample Tcl script follows that reads a file of devices and a file of commands. It will run the list of commands against each device in the device file. It has some basic error checking, but should best be considered a ‘beta’ version. You could do more complex interactions in the Tcl script by adding exp_send and expect command statements. In short, if you can type it you could script it!
    Change directory to where your script, plink.exe  and data is stored and run with  tclsh <script_name>
    devices.list
    # Comment lines are allowed if they start with a hash mark
    # <IP_Addr> <userid> <password> <ssh|telnet> <timeout_in_secs>

  • How can I get a list of files in my collections?

    Hi
    I have been given a disc of 800 photos from a photographer, some colour and some black and white. I used lightroom's 'collections' facility to separate the photos into various groups ie: some pictures that had to be printed different sizes, some black and white etc etc.
    I now need to somehow 'export' a list of the files in the various collections for her to print.
    Does lightroom have a facilty where it can just export a list of files in text/doc format?
    Thank you for your help.

    We have used 2 Pantone colors In Indesign CS2. The One Pantone color is butt with other color slightly.
    Now we want to convert ps to pdf. The Particular place color not come properly while looking at pdf.

  • Export Related Lists to Excel

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to export related lists along with the primary list data using Export to Excel?
    Thanks!
    K.
    Personal Blog: http://thebitsthatbyte.com

    Hi Kelly,
    As far as I know, from the current SharePoint function, we can’t export the list along with the related list to excel. Because, the excel is not the relation database or data source. So, when you export the list, the relationship will miss.
    In fact, SharePoint list is a form of database table. So, SharePoint list can keep the relationship.
    In excel, you can create multiple data sheet, so, you can store your different list in different data sheet in one excel file. Some data you can choose from the other data sheet to display.

    OK lest see if I got this straight.
    The original library is on the laptops internal HD. You connect an external HD to the laptop and export to this external HD connected to the laptop. So at this point you could open that library with Aperture on the laptop.

    OK this bit is a got me confused. So the images on the laptop are managed. So then the images in the exported library are also managed, no? But then you say you are copying images to the Drobo and reconnecting them to Aperture.  Could you explain this in more detail.
    Another thing you can try is to plug in the external HD to your main computer and open the Aperture library from it before you do anything with the Drobo.
    BTW it's not the library that is on the Drobo correct, only images?
