• Where can I find my saved passwords?

Hello!!
Where can I find my saved passwords? Specifically, my network password? My computer has saved my password and I no longer need to input it to go online. I want someone else to use my wireless connection but I forgot my network password. Does anyone know where I can find my saved network password?

• I reinstalled my Snow Leopard and now I can't retrieve my saved passwords.

The save passwords option is no longer present in my toolbar. My old saved passwords are not there in Firefox preferences. Nothing I can find on the help site seems to help, including live chat. I did find the two files Firefox says are connected to saved passwords in the material I back-up before I re-installed my operating system. I dragged them to the corresponding location on my new hard drive, and that didn't do anything.

You need to update to Safari 5.1
Safari 5.0.6 is for Leopard v10.5.8, see system requirements here > Safari 5.0.6

• Can't delete my saved passwords from Safari 5.1 on Snow Leopard 10.6.8

When the bugs in 1Password initially disabled that application on Safari 5.1 I started saving manually entered passwords on Safari while 1Password was being fixed. Now that 1Password is working I want to remove the saved passwords on Safari as a secirity precaution. But they won't delete; not individually, not as a group. When I click Remove All the passwords all turn blue as if about to be deleted en mass but don't disappear. Trying it by highlighting one and clicking Remove doesn;t work either. Any suggestions?

You are much better off using the Mac OS X app Keychain Access which is pre installed on your Mac instead of a third party password manager.
This link shows the results of a Safari / 1Password forum search which reveals all the problems 1Password causes for Safari.

Your passwords are not stored in Safari per se, they are stored in Keychain Access. /Applicatiions/Utilities. Trying to use both is causing a conflict.

I can only provide you with the path for a Mac but Windows should be something similar

My os crashed. The data is still accessable on the original hard drive. I reinstalled windows on a new drive. can I recover the saved passwords from the other drive?

To backup or restore passwords in Firefox you need these two files:
* key3.db (encryption key; [http://kb.mozillazine.org/key3.db])
* signons.sqlite (encrypted names and passwords)

• Is there a way to use a Master Password only to view Saved Passwords, without having to type it in every session?

If anyone ever uses my computer, they can easily see my Saved Passwords. I want to be able to secure them. The only way to do that is by setting a Master Password, which is great, but I don't really want to have to type it in every time I open up my web browser.
I couldn't seem to find this anywhere in any searches. Is there an Add-on or tweak that can set a Master Password only to protect my Saved Passwords?

Thanks, Matt. In my case, the monitor definitely shuts off when I unplug the power from my laptop in clamshell mode. If the lid is open, however, the monitor continues to function even without the power adapter plugged into my laptop. Ideally, I'd like to have the lid closed on my laptop and be able to use the external monitor without having the power plugged into my laptop. That's what doesn't seem to work - if your does, please let me know if you have any pointers.
Thanks again!

Hi,
i have a problem. I'm reaching my internet bank via Firefox. But suddenly it is asking me to type a ''main password''. This is not a password for internet bank account but it supposed to be a password for Mozilla. I don't remember setting this password and now I'm not able to log in in my bank. Where can i get this password asap?
Thank you very much for your help,

Is this the Master Password for the Firefox Password Manager?
The Current Firefox release allows to save a name and password from sites that have a log in form with autocomplete="off".
If you want to disable this new feature then you can toggle the signon.storeWhenAutocompleteOff pref to false on the about:config page with a double-click.
You can open the about:config page via the location bar and you can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
Can you access the saved passwords?

the master password what they r giving is not at all useful... it is not used for the saved password..
Please give a master password to get access for the saved password...
If any body others comes and sees the saved password in the system they can easily see the saved password....

If you use a Master Password then your passwords can only be accessed after you have supplied that MP during a session.
You will be prompted to enter the MP the first time it is needed in a session.
You can logout from the Software Security Device (e.g. click Cancel in the "Show Passwords" dialog) to force re-entering the MP once again.

firefox saved an old password for logging into my ebay account and i want to make it remember a new one so that every time I login to ebay I don't have to erase the one it keeps remembering and put in the new one. How do I change old passwords that firefox has stored and put in the correct ones?

*Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
*Highlight an entry in the drop down list
*Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

• How to find saved passwords

I can't find my saved passwords. What happened to profile manager?

The profile manager should still be there in Firefox 3.6.
Firefox 4.0 won't have the profile manager in its current form though.
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager
Do you have a problem with the profile manager?
Do you mean passwords in the password manager or the files key3.db and signons.sqlite that store the passwords in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder]?

• Saved password problem missing

Hi everyone. My problem is that I can't see my saved password. Something happaned but I don't know what happened. I tried to reset the Firefox, but it didn't solve. When I open "signons" file with notepad, it shows the name of the saved websites and coded letters. What should I do to see my saved passwords again? I also tried to uninstall the Firefox and install it again, then copying "signons" file but it also didn't work. Please help me.

You need the matching key3.db file that stores the encryption key.
The encrypted names and passwords can't be decrypted without this file.
You can try to restore a previous version of the key3.db file and/or signons.sqlite.
*Right click: Properties > Previous Versions
*http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Previous-versions-of-files-frequently-asked-questions
Make sure to first create a backup copy of key3.db and signons.sqlite before experimenting.

• Would it be possible that saved passwords would work on both http and https version of the same site as some pages are switching from http to https?

Some sites are switching from http to https protocols and some sites run both. This creates some duality when you have saved passwords. You either save passwords for both versions of the site. And if you visit the https version for the first time you just have to go and look up the password as (personally) I don't remember all of my passwords.
Would it be possible that unless there are different passwords for different version of the site that firefox would use the one that it has already saved?

You will have to save the password again in case the submit URL and possibly other parameters change.
You can try this extension:
* Saved Password Editor: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/saved-password-editor/
