Can I export my song list in a readable format?

Hi
All I want to export is a list of the artist and titles of her/his songs.
I've tried to export it to a txt file but it's practically impossible to read, it would take hours to trawl through it when all I want is something simple.
I don't have any spreadsheet programs on my computer so I can't export it to an .xml file.
Any help out there?

Looking at your playlist or music library in iTunes:
Make sure the fields you want to use are showing. If you want to add or remove any fields, use View > Options to get it the way you want. If you only want artist and title, as you mention, then uncheck everything else. (You can always recheck them later if you wish.)
Edit > Select All
Edit > Copy
Now switch over to a program such as Microsoft Word. Edit > Paste Special > Unformatted Text.
It may take a little editing to get it formatted the way you like, but it is way easier than dealing with the entire .txt file.
The spreadsheet would be better, since it makes it easier to sort, etc, but since you don't have it, a word processing program such as Word will do.

You can't sync across accounts, so:
In Contacts select all the contacts (1 account at a time) and choose File>Export>vCard),
then on your wifes Air do the reverse, select File>Import.

Thats not entirely true.
I have an Audi car kit and it copies all contacts, missed/received/dialed numbers from the iPhone 3G to the cars system.
I can scroll through the contacts in the same way I can on the actual phone.
So it is possible to transfer the contacts via bluetooth but obviously this doesn't work with every manufacturer or bluetooth implementation.

It sounds as though you would like to transfer content from your iPod to an iTunes library. You can transfer purchased content from iPods by following the directions in the article below:
Re-download or transfer your iTunes Store purchases from an iPhone, iPad or iPod to a computer - Apple Support
This feature works only for content bought from the iTunes Store. Any items that you imported from audio CDs or received from other sources won't copy from your device to the iTunes library.

Thank you for trying but this is the wrong disk. I'm looking for the list on the disk made in Italy by Phonocomp SpA . It has a number on it of 5-105-2 and CEDAR DIGITAL REMASTERING 1992DEJAVU.

Help! I can't see the songs listed in ITUNES!

I am not that computer literate, but since last night I have not been able to see the song list in ITUNES. How can I buy a song if I dont see it listed? I have have been downloading songs without difficulty for months. What gives?

Welcome to the forums. You need to be running iTunes 4.9 or later to use the iTunes Music Store. This is a very recent change. Go HERE and download the latest version.

Can't see the songs listed on the IPOD in Itunes

I cannot click on the IPOD administrator when connected to Itunes and get the song listing on the IPOD shuffle. All I get is the IPOD shuffle settings screen (showing Software version 1.0.4, capacity, serial # etc)- no listing of the songs, This is a recent problem - in the last 2 weeks. I have downloaded latest IPOD and ITUNES software and it does not fix the problem.

Not dumb... It's actually a bit confusing with the latest version of iTunes, and it only affects 1st and 2nd gen shuffle users.
Before, it was Settings and Content. And they clearly looked like separate "tab" choices. iTunes 11 changed the wording to Settings and On This iPod, and it's harder to see the separation as "button" choices. So, it looks like it says, "Settings on this iPod." On other iPods, it starts with Summary (not Settings) there are more button choices there (not just two), so it's not as confusing that the last one is On This iPod.

Ive had tunes downloaded on my PC for over 4 years. Currently when I login to my iTunes account it only lists 1 song on my playboard. I should have over 1000. When I log in on a different computer I can see the complete song list. Any ideas what to do?

When I login to my itunes account on a different computer, or my kids login on there ipods and ipads, my songs are listed and available. I have unistalled and re-installed all the apple software as described on the Apple help page, but the same thing is happening when I reistalled.. Well, then comes the default fix: Repair permissions of your disk and see if that works. Next step, trash the com.apple.garageband.plist file. And tell us if either of those helped!

That should do the trick! Then convert using Adobe Media Encoder, if desired.

If you use third party tools like Toad, you can easily save the list to file in CSV, XLS, HTML etc format.
If in SQLPlus, Spool the result to a txt file using spool filename. Run the query. Then spool off. Pickup the filename and clean it up where necessary
