Can I FAX from a Wireless hp6700 printer

Can I FAX  from a Wireless  hp6700 printer?   Do I need to connect it to a phone line or does it have fax software that will allow me to fax to a fax number via my home wireless network->Internet->Fax number.
Sudhir

Hi,
You need a phone cord as mentioned in its manual:
Test fax setup
You can test your fax setup to check the status of the printer and to make sure it is set up correctly for faxing. Perform this test after you have completed setting up the printer for faxing. The test does the following:
• Tests the fax hardware
• Verifies the correct type of phone cord is connected to the printer
• Checks that the phone cord is plugged into the correct port
• Checks for a dial tone
• Checks for an active phone line
• Tests the status of your phone line connection
The printer prints a report with the results of the test. If the test fails, review the report for information on how to fix the problem and rerun the test.
Regards.

I also rely on iTunes and my MacBook and Time Machine as well as backing up to iCloud. I know many users know have gone totally PC free, but I chose to use iCloud merely as my third backup.
I assume that the restore would result in my ability to open Pages and Numbers and fix the problem with deleting apps, but this would also mean that if my Numbers documents still exist solely within the app and are just not on iCloud for some reason that they would be gone forever.  Is that right?
In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

I have an HP2840 running with Windows 7.  Everytime I fax from the computer the print spooler STOPS.
I have to start, then stop, then start again everytime before any of my printers are available.
Is there a setting I need to change?

it sounds to me that the print spooler is crashing. Typically if the spooler crashes, when restarted it will try and process the job in the queue.  If it crashes again, the job will be purged from the queue.

my all in one keeps saying no anwser when trying to fax from hotspot on phone and computer

    Hi @wiszard
What kind of hotspot are you using? HP Printers are designed to work with 802.11 WiFi networks, thus connecting to the Hotspot may not work.
This particular model does have the feature called Wireless Direct (WD). HP wireless direct is a new feature that allows your Wi-Fi capable devices (for example: smart phones, tablets, or computers) to make a wireless network connection directly to your printer without using a wireless router or access point. You connect to your printer's HP wireless direct signal the same way you connect your Wi-Fi capable device to a new wireless network or hotspot. - Source
Please use the instructions in the link I sourced to set the printer up using wireless direct. Simply open the link and click on 'How to connect to HP wireless direct'.
Once the WD is enabled, open your network settings on your computer and choose the printer network, it will look like a variation of the printer name.
If you would like clarification or have any questions I would be happy to help.

  • Can't fax from 8600 printer

Recently changed to VOIP and printer no longer faxes. Have to scan and attach everything.

    Hello @Lowellavery,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that since switching to a VOIP phone line you have not been able to fax with your HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer. I would like to offer assistance today with resolving this issue.
Now, just so you are aware, faxing is old analog technology. Nowadays phone companies use digital lines. Digital lines are OK to use, but there is a lot more static noise and interference on those lines that cause fax communication issues. Also, the transmission rates on digital lines is much faster than analog. The faster transmission speeds can cause fax packets to be lost. This loss in fax packets will also result in fax communication issues. While the fax machines are designed for use with traditional analog phone services, there are settings that we can adjust on your fax machine to eliminate as much interference on your VOIP line as possible. Please follow the steps below to adjust the fax settings.
Step 1: Turn OFF Error Correction Mode:
On the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow ().
    Touch Setup ().
Touch Fax Setup, and then touch Advanced Fax Setup.
Touch the Down Arrow (), touch Error Correction Mode, and then touch OFF.
Touch the Home icon () to return to the main menu.
Step 2: Slow down the Fax Speed:
On the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow ().
    Touch Setup ().
Touch Fax Setup, and then touch Advanced Fax Setup.
Touch the Down Arrow (), touch Fax Speed, and then touch Slow.
Touch the Home icon () to return to the main menu.
Once these two settings have been adjusted, please try faxing again. Should faxing still fail, please make sure that you're using the 2-wire fax cable that came with your printer.
Once you have the correct fax cable, plug the cable into the rear of your printer in line-1. Plug the other end of the cable directly into the modem that was provided for your VOIP services.
Once the cable is connected please run the Fax Test.
Load U.S. Letter or A4-sized plain white paper into the tray.
On the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow ().
    Touch Setup ().
Touch Tools, and then touch Run Fax Test. The printer displays the status of the test, and then prints a report.
Review the report. Please check the report for any 'Fails'

  • Can't fax from computer

My new Officejet 5740, purchased 11/15/14, worked fine until February 2015 – no problems with any of its functions, including faxes.
That was about the time I switched from a wireless connection to a USB connection, and since then outgoing faxes cannot be sent from the computer, although they can be sent from the printer using the LED screen. There is no problem with incoming faxes.
Sending from the printer with the LED screen is an error-prone nuisance compared to the convenience of using the computer. Protracted discussions with HP Tech Support have been no help. The Techs seem to think I should just give up and use the LED screen on the printer.
After trying unsuccessfully to send an outgoing fax using the computer, the Fax Status window pops up indicating "Spooling…" as the status of the fax, and it never goes any further.
Is it possible that my changeover in type of connection from wireless to USB has caused the problem? Do I perhaps need a different driver? If so, where do I go to download one, and what do I ask for? Thank you.
    This question was solved.

Thanks very much for the detailed instructions for fixing my outgoing fax problem.  Because the instructions involved a number of steps, I hesitated to launch into them until I had the necessary time to go through them carefully.  I was about to do so tonight, but before starting I tried once more to send a fax from my computer.
And what do you know, it worked perfectly, just as it had before this problem appeared a couple weeks ago!  Somehow it fixed itself during the last 7 days -- possibly as a result of one of the periodic software updates that occur automatically(?)  Whatever... I'm just glad it's fixed.  I'll keep your instructions for future use if needed.  Thanks again.

  • New tip trick for capturing scanned images to the PB from your wireless network printer

I've read a couple of threads here and on crackberry about not being able to print directly to a printer on the local network (although there is a way to print via the cloud from gmail apparently). Anyway it occurred to me that I can browse to my printer's IP address and in addition to allowing me to configure it, it also lets me scan documents to jpg, pdf, and tiff formats and then renders the scanned image through the browser. I tried this from the Playbook browser and it worked perfectly. i was able to view and save the scanned document directly to my Playbook file system. Even more conveniently I could just take a screenshot of the browser window. Now if only the printer would let me print the scan or better yet browse to and upload a local file for print my printing problems would be solved. I am using an older HP 2500 psc. Does anyone know of a newer model wireless/network printer that allows printing via the browser interface?

Just to clarify. When your playbook and the wireless printer are on the same network, you can browse to the IP address of the wireless printer from your playbook just as you could from your PC or laptop. The browser will display the printer's web features which in my case includes the ability to scan the document that is laying on the scanner bed of the printer. When I click the scan button, the image of the scanned document renders on my playbook and I am able to save the rendered TIFF, JPG, PDF to the playbook locally or I can even just take a screenshot (press the playbook's volume up and down buttons simultaneously) and then the image of the document from the browser window automatically saves to the camera folder under pictures.
What I would like is to find a wireless printer that from the web page that is displayed when I browse to the printers local IP address be able to browse to a file on my playbook and upload it to the printer (kind of like uploading or attaching a document to a gmail email message or uploading a local picture to Facebook etc...) and then instruct the printer to print the document. Obviously this would only work when I was on the same local wireless network as the printer but it would essentially solve the "how to print directly to a wireless printer from the playbook?" question.

  • SAP faxing from all-in-one (printer/copier/scanner/fax) device

    Hi,
We have a all-in-one printer/copier/scanner/fax (Ricoh Aficio 3025) and would like to make use of it to send fax from SAP.
I know how to set it up as a printer.  But how should I go about setting it up to send fax?
    Can someone help?
    Thanks in advance.
Edited by: Sisab Nimda on Jan 8, 2009 2:38 PM

You can't just set it up as a fax... you need a fax server in order to send faxes  (I.E. Rightfax)... basically the way it works is that you create a node in SCOT for faxes and send the data to the fax server via SMTP and the fax server deliver the fax to your hardware.
    Check the SMTP guide,

  • Wireless hp6700 printer

can printer and laptop be connected by wireless without going thru internet connection router?

Not this one, sorry.  Older models can do this, but not the newer ones.   You can just get a cheap wireless router and use it for connecting between the compter and printer, the router does not have to connect to the Internet.

    Hello again thelids,
Please for your privacy, do not post any iformation that can identify you, such as email addresses, or phone numbers.  Now if you will go here and follow the steps under "Send a fax" it will tell you how to send a fax via eFax.  Honestly it is pretty much the same as sending a fax the traditonal way.  Just touch eFax, dial the number, put want you want to fax on the glass, or through the feeder no top, and start the fax.  If you need anymore help, let me know.
