Can I filter out jpgs so only RAW files show?

I have my photos organized in folders like this:
Photos
--2007
----Family
------02-19_Picnic
--------JPGs
------02-20_Stuff
--------JPGs
etc.
When I import everything into Lightroom and I just want to see the images from the 02-19_Picnic folder, it's showing me both the raw files and jpegs. Is there any way to only see what's in that main folder and not its root?

You can do it two ways: (BTW, I think you meant to say "main folder and not its subfolder")
1) Click on 02-19_Picnic, this displays all files in that folder and subfolders. Next Cmd-click (I think that's Ctrl-click on Wintel) within the Metabrowser panel, on Raw [under File Type] - if your raws are DNG, then choose DNG. That performs an intersection and thus shows only the Raws. If you again Cmd-click on Raw and then on Jpeg, you get just the jpegs.
2) Click on 02-19_Picnic, this displays all files in that and subfolders. Next, in Find, check "Any Text", and enter "dng", "cr2" or whatever your raw's extension name is. That again displays files in the picnic folder and subfolders that include the raw name somewhere in the metadata (including the file name).

  • Can i with a script force bridge cs5 to show only raw files?

    Hi
i know there is the filter feature
but i have every time to set to show me the raw files
can a script show only raw files ? like *.cr2
in short i work only with raw files
i would like to have a solution to display only raw files
to load with bridge and have bridge ready to show only raw files
set it on the filter feature is boring ,seeing i use it a lot and every time i run bridge i have to set the filter every time
    thanks

It appears that with the Sort function set to Flie Type you can bring up just the raw
files as a group.  With the Filter it appears that it always opens up in the default mode to arrange by file name.
You could get a script to change it to file type, but that does not save any effort over just clicking on it in the Filter section.  Whether or not you can get a script to change the defalult I would ask in the Bridge scripting forum.  http://forums.adobe.com/community/bridge/bridge_scripting

  • Can I filter out "hollow" sound?

I recorded a voice intro and some "noodling" for my guitar instructor to up on his website, but there's just a bit of a hollow sound to his spoken intro and to his guitar playing. Is there an easy way to filter that in Garage Band? I'm pretty new to GB and have barely used it.

  • Can photoshop convert .jpg to camera raw file?

Can photoshop convert .jpg to camera raw file?

And even if you could, it wouldn't be worth it.  Raw files are 12-bit (or more) with much higher dymanic range than jpegs.  The result is that (in the original raw file) you have flexibility to change white balance, change tone curve, recover detail from highlights and shadows in ways you can't with 8-bit (usually lossy-compressed) data in jpegs.  But having thrown that extra information away to create a jpeg, you can't get it back.  It would technically be possible to convert that jpeg data into raw format, but you would gain nothing by doing so and end up with a file much larger than the jpeg.  In fact if this theoretical conversion went the whole way to re-create a Bayer sensor array of data, you'd be throwing away resolution.

  • How to import only RAW files from camera?

I also shoot with both RAW and JPEG, such that I have access to JPEGs to share with people immediately before post-processing.  But I only want to use RAW in my Lightroom flow.
When pictures are already in Lightroom, I use filters in the library view to show only RAW, or only JPEG, or both (by applying a filter on the file extension).
But how do I set a filter before importing?  I would like to import only the RAW pictures into lightroom, but I don't see a way of doing that using Lightroom's import from camera card features.  I either have to let lightroom  import all, and then remove the JPEGs, or use Windows explorer to copy over just RAW files and then use Lightroom to import.
I would like to use Lightroom in just one step to import all RAW files (but only RAW files) from the camera card directly to the library.  A file filter in the import dialog seems like an easy feature to implement.

Another reason to have a filter in import is then you can then apply a preset to the RAW files only. At present if I want to apply a preset to my RAW files on import I have to apply it to the JPEGs too as there is no way of being selective on import. I then have to remove the preset from the JPEGs, which is a pointless and unnecessary task, whilst LR is busy rendering the unwanted look.
I shoot both file types on one cameras as the JPEG gives me a look that is very hard to replicate with the RAW files and on another camera I use a picture style to remind me of what I was looking for when shooting. Again as it's a custom style it's very hard to replicate the look in LR from the RAW file.
Though a major reason I shoot both JPEGs + RAW is that I was asked by a client a few years back, when I only shot RAW for all the shots as JPEGs to select down from. As this was a 4 week feature film shoot it took several days constant rendering out of Photoshop to output the JPEGs. This was just before LR and even then, LR would still take considerable time to produce all those exported files, though a lot quicker than PS I would hope. So now I always shoot JPEGs as well so I never have to waste time outputting JPEGs for a client to do a rough select.

  • Can i open and edit nikon d810 raw files in lightroom 4.4

can i open and edit nikon d810 raw files in lightroom 4.4

No. Lightroom 4.x will never be able to open Raw files from the D810.
D810 support has only just been added to the RC version of Camera Raw 8.6. It is never retrospectively added into older versions.
Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw 8.6 RC for CC and CC 2014 Release Candidate | digital camera raw file support - Adobe Labs
Adobe will probably add D810 support to the next version of Lightroom.
Either way you'll have to upgrade to Lightroom 5 to be able to open D810 Raw files in Lightroom.

  • How can I find out which .pst or .ost file itunes referres to when synchronising with outlook

I´ve switched to iphone 4S from my 3Gs and would like to "clean" my itunes Sync before I use the new phone. Problem is, that the synchronisation with Outlook 2003 doesn´t work anymore. I guess the reason is that itunes refers to an old .ost or .pst file on my computer. I ve got several outlook profiles and changed from exchange to pop3. My question: How can I find out which .pst or .ost file itunes referres to?
Thanks a lot in advance :-)

Select the tune and then - Get Info - in the dialog box is a note of the Apple ID used to purchase.

  • I have iphoto '08 version with an imac osx 10.5.8. It will not read my RAW files  from my Nikon D800 - a very new model. How can I get it to read my RAW files?

my somewhat old imac osx 10.5.8 with iphoto '08 will not read my RAW files from my new Nikon D800 camera - a new model on the market( 5 months or so). How can I get iphoto to read my RAW  files?

iPhoto 08 would not read RAW files from that new a camera. You need to upgrade so you can get more up-to-date version of OS X and iPhoto. Another possiblity is see if iPhoto 11 will run on 10.5.8, if so you should update. You can also attempt to run Software Update and see if it finds a newer release of iPhoto 08 that supports newer RAW formats.

  • Why can't I download Canon S100 CR2 RAW files into PSE 10?

I am using PSE 10 with a Canon S100 camera. I am successful in downloading all of my jpeg files and RAW CR2 files from my older Canon Rebel, but not with the Canon S100 CR2 Raw files.
When first downloading from the Canon S100 camera into PSE 10 and later doing them manually, I receive the following messages:  Nothing imported...files are not supported file types or alread in catalog.  File damaged or in a format that cannot be included in the Elements Organizer.
These problems files, by the way, were automatically added to my Window's My Pictures catalog and are perfectly fine.

Thank you for the info. It worked great, once I was
able to get around a second problem that prevented updating
from within the PSE 10 application (error U41M1C212). That
problem was solved by disabling the MS Virtual WiFi Miniport
Adapter (located in the Network and Sharing Center control
panel). It just goes to show me once again, how complex
computer apps are and how much we all have to rely on each
other to get anything to work properly (frustratingly
enough, since the companies we paid good money to for
their problematic software are not very helpful). Thanks
    again.

Can I update Elements 9 to open RAW files from a Nikon D5200, or do I have to buy something?

    You have two alternatives:
    (1) Upgrade to PSE 11. (2) Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download click here DNG Converter 7.4
Mac download click here DNG Converter 7.4
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

If you go to Photoshop>About Plug-in and click on the words Camera Raw, what version does it list?
I suspect you still have Camera Raw 7.0
When you go to Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6, it says nothing available?

  • Photoshop Elements 5.0, 1 in 10 RAW files show broken

I have PS Elements 5.0 running on Vista Home Premium. I am shooting with a Sony Alpha 100 and the RAW files are .ARW. Approximately 1 in 10 of my RAW files show an end-of-file error. I've not yet update the firmware (should I need to?), but I have had a friend open up the same files in CS3 no problem. I have tried new memory sticks, used my laptop with the same Elements licence and I'm still having problems. It comes up with a greyed out box. If I delete the files from the HD and reinstall them, the same ones show up as broken, so it's something specific to these files. They open okay in the Sony RAW editor that came with the camera. What to do!?

  • HELP!  I can't  filter out jsf-impl.jar

Every jar file can be filtered out of a deployment file EXCEPT jsf-impl.jar, Why?
JDeveloper (older) version of jsf-impl.jar is causing problem with a newer version in JBossAS 4.2.0.CR1 and consequently, throwing java.lang.ClassCastException error. I can filter out every other jar file but not jsf-impl.jar.
If I manually remove the jsf-impl.jar from my project /WEB-INF, JDeveloper complains about the missing jsf-impl.jar when I restart it. The other alternative is to manually delete the jsf-impl.jar from my *.war file every time I re-deploy it to JBossAS. This option is very tedious in production with frequent re-deployment.
Could someone suggest a more civilised approach to excluding jsf-impl.jar from my deployment file? I will also like to know why it is not possible to filter out jsf-impl.jar like other jars. Could this be a bug?
    Thanks for your help

    I have found the problem: For those who might be interested and in addition to the normal way filtering deployment files, you also need to uncheck the jsf-impl.jar as follows;
1 This is in the War Deployment Profile Property
2 Right click web project name
3 Click the ‘War Deployment Profile Property’ option
4 The ‘War Deployment Profile Property’ dialog open
    5 Select File Group
    6 Select Web Filter
    7 Select Contribution
    8 Select Filter
    9 Select WEB-INF
    10 Select lib
    11 Uncheck jsf-imp.jar
