Can I find my serial number on the software (w/o disc)?

Have full CS3 and have lost original disc, heard if you have the number you can download the
software, I'm getting a new computer and want to load it on there.

That's a myth. Even users on supprot plans don't have that luxury as downloadable versions only go so far back and then you stil lhave to pay the support. If you never were on any of these plans and purchased your software as a download back then, there is no way to get it this way now - at least not officially from Adobe. Anyway, as Bob said, without a valid serial this is a circular argument and it is even with regards to a possible upgrade to CS5.5 - no serial, no upgrade, no install.

    ive been trying to export a final cut file  to a .mov. i keep getting a codec error and recently got compressor however when i try to export using compressor it asks for a serial number that i dont have because the app store never gave me one.

    Compressor 4 does not give a serial number, it only runs on Mac's that are "authorized" for your iTunes/App Store account.
    If it's asking for a s/n, sounds like you're launching an old, unregistered Compressor 3.5 version.  Launch from the Applications menu, not from the Dock.

    I recently purchased a macbook pro from eBay which had Flash CS4 already installed on it, but which didn't come with the original documentation or CDs that would have had the serial number.  The seller said he would send along the appropriate numbers when he tracked them down, but he never got back to me again.  I'd like to upgrade to Flash CS5 now, so is there any way I can find the serial number through the software itself?  I've seen similar threads to this one elsewhere in the forums and the most promising answers have involved people locating truncated numbers in the software and asking Adobe to decrypt them.  Unfortunately, I can't even find these truncated numbers...  anyone have advice?

    Chances are you do not own the rights to use or have that software installed on that machine.  If the seller was only going to supply you with numbers and not transfer his/her license thru Adobe channels (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/152/tn_15281.html), the seller would probably be in violation of the End User License Agreement (illegally providing a copy to another individual). If the seller still retains the license, the copy on your machine would have to have been erased before the sale... and still needs to be.
    This is likely to apply to other software that was installed on the machine by the seller.

    The serial number was included in the box ARD came in; the Apple Store will not have a record of it. If you've lost the serial number, you'll need to purchase a new copy of ARD, probably a good idea anyway since 2.2 won't run on any version of Mac OS X since, if memory serves, 10.4. It's a lot cheaper through the Mac App Store than it was back when you first purchased.

    I just bought and downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac from Amazon.com and I can't find a serial number anywhere!! There isn't anything on the order page about a serial number nor is there anything on the product information page. I recieved an email from Amazon, but it was just a receipt... I don't think I overlooked it, but that is possible. Did anyone else run into a similar problem or was someone able to fix this?

    Nevermind, I found it! In case anyone else has this problem (and you're using a Mac), go to your desktop, open the folder that was created after the download, click on it and open the file called, "Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac Keys." There you will find the ever elusive serial number!

    In your Apple ID - Profiles:My Products if you filled it out. Not only that you might be able to, via Apple ID & iCloud sign up/in and activate find my Mac. If you have not activated iCloud you can do that too.
