Can I force a Flexconnect AP into Standalone mode?

I've found an interesting setup where some remote sites have over 400+ ms latency to the controller (This is due to the 3G/4G WWAN connection back to corp), I am thinking this causing some issues since the required latency for Flexconnect is no more then 150+ ms. It appears if I block the CAPWAP traffic from the LAP to the controller and force everything to be locally switched those issues dissappear. So I was wondering if there was a way I can force a Flexconnect AP into standalone, I have not been able to find anything in any documentation this far.
I've slated an upgrade to 7.4 (from 7.2) to gain the ability to apply a Flexconnect ACL to force everything to be locally switches at the remote sites LAP, but I was just looking for a "better" stop gap in this less than ideal design.

My apologies Scott, I forgot to mention the WLAN config but yes that is exactly how it's configured the WLAN is setup for local switching and it is mapped to the appriopriate VLAN on the remote LAN. I know flexconnect locally switched traffic is not affected when the LAP changes between standalone and connected mode but this is just one of those times I've hit a brick wall, and it's even more interesting that blocking the CAPWAP communications between the LAP and WLC has resolved the issue (Communication has been functioning fine for over a week so it's not just a fluke one time thing).
I am under the assumption that by default with Flexconnect that local traffic will be locally switched and traffic destined outside the site/local subnets will be tunneled back through the CAPWAP tunnel, unless specified by a Flexconnect ACL.

Can't get ipod classic 80GB into disk mode

I have tried and tried to get this 80GB ipod into disk mode by pushing the select/menu until it restarts and the select/pp buttons. It keeps going back to the red x. please help.

Probably not, but it's more than likely that the docking station either isn't compatible with the Classic or the cables supplied with it aren't.
Does it specifically say the Dynex is Classic compatible?

My problem is that when i press the power button to put into sleep mode, there is no sleep mode in the shut down list.

Can't get my AGP G4 into Target Mode

I have a new Intel MacMini I want to use for my home computer, so I tried get my old G4 to startup in Target mode (using lower case "t" at startup) to make file backup and account setup easier.
The G4 will not go into Target mode - I've tried both restarting and powerig-up, both with "t" pressed down from the beginning. Their are the usual power-up sounds, but the monitor screen remains blank - it doesn't progress to the floating-Y Firewire icon or the normal login screen.
I read somewhere about Open Firmware Password, but I don't seem to have that on this machine.
Some info about my G4 - is it a model that supports Target Mode?

It was so great to set up my wife's Intel iMac with her account files from her old PowerPC via Target Mode. I'd love to be able to do the same with my own old PowerPC G4. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This might work, but I suspect that you will have many more problems due to hardware drivers on the Dell HD. The OS installed there will be looking for specific hardware, and almost guaranteed the Virtual Box emulated hardware won't be the same, and most likely it will be different enough to prevent the Dell Windows installation from booting. Now, If you can use the Parallels Transporter, or the VMWare equivalent, I believe that they take care of stripping the hardware specific drivers when they create a virtual machine, but I don't know if Virtual Box has such a tool.

Can a Flexconnect (h-reap) survive reload while in standalone mode

When your WAN link(s) goes down and your FlexConnect (H-REAP) WAP reboots, it will not service anything/anyone.

Can't force iMovie HD 6 on Intel Core Duo iMac into Rosetta from get info.

I can't get it to force imovie hd 6 into rosetta mode from get info. (doesn't show words and check box "force Rosetta" like other programs. If it can't, how can i get chromakey on imovie?

Last night, I was trying to do this as well. I was attemping to get plugins that worked with iMovie5 and clicking the Rosetta option was supposed to be work-around. I am guessing it no longer works with the latest versions of the Intel systems or iMovie.

APs go into standalone but don't recover

We have an issue of APs losing communication to the WLC, going into standalone mode and not completely returning to LWAPP mode once communication is restored. The controller is a 4404 running version 5.2.178.0. The WLC is at our corporate office and the APs are scattered around the country at small sales offices. We are running H-REAP to the 1242 series APs.
If the WAN link drops or the site loses power, the AP loses communication to the WLC (obviously). When the WAN/power restores, the AP restores communication to the WLC, but clients connecting get 0.0.0.0 as an IP. The local router at the site hands out the DHCP addresses. The fix has been to bounce the PoE switch port or rebbot the AP from the WLC. Removing power to the AP is the best recovery right now. Any ideas how to fix this issue? Thanks

Can I force the sync process without DM asking me for confirmations?

DM is working fine with Outlook 2003, and I have the "confirm adds, deletes, changes" options disabled in the Advanced section. Yet every time I connect my device, DM is asking me to confirm stuff.

CISCO AIRONET 1230AG Question for Standalone Mode

Hello everyone,
Just one fast question since i am trying to start a personal project.
Can u use an aironet 1230AG AP as a purely standalone AP device
like you would with any commercial AP?
Also is there an administration page to do so or is it IOS oriented?

you can of course use 1230 AP in standalone mode.
It can be administered both CLI (IOS-like) and GUI (web page).
configuration examples documents usually have both GUI and CLI.

Note that if you have high number of APs then administration will be a headache if you are using them in standalone mode.
If you have high number of APs then it will be much wise idea to use a controller-based APs.

SQR - Production reporting deployment in standalone mode

Hi,
I am an essabse developer/admin , and never worked with SQR - production reporting. Now here is an urgent need of an upgrade from version 8 to 9 or 11 for this tool. When i read the oracle documentation they say, we need workspace and HSS. But my question is can we deploy sqr - production reporting in standalone mode like how we do for essbase.
Also if any body has installed , any answer can be helpful thanks!!

you can install the PR-client/ PR-studio only. All pure SQR/ PR functionality is in it. But off course you can not mke use of the job and publish functionality.
There is also commandline utilty to overcome most of the missing parts.

Ipad was forced into Recovery Mode and I can't get out. Please help me!

Hi all. I'm dealing with a problem and could really use some help. I recently updated my Ipad to ios 4 with no problems and was enjoying it greatly. Afterward, I loaded Pages and Atomic Browser from the app store.
Anyway, I was surfing the net on Atomic Browser and then turned the ipad off momentarily to grab something from the kitchen. When I came back, the Ipad would not start.
I'd push the power button but nothing. Push and hold the power button. Nothing. Push and hold the home button. Nothing.
After many attempts, I decided to push the home screen button with the power button to force a reboot. I did this once a few months ago, and it just restarted my ipad fine. But this was before i updated to ios 4.
After doing this, it gave me the recovery mode screen with the pic of the usb cable pointing to the itunes logo. It has never done that before.
I don't want to reformat my ipad, i just wanted to turn it back on. I tried to exit recovery mode by holding the power button and home screen again, but it just keeps me stuck there. Nothing I do can get me out.
I don't want to reset the ipad and restore a back-up because I will lose some valuable pages documents I created recently.
Can any one help me?

The same thing happened to me. After the big update, I also experienced exactly what you described. I ended up restoring the ipad a number of times.
The first few times, I restored from a back-up. The last few times I have restored the ipad as new. It would work the next few times I turned the machine on, and around the third time, it would lapse back into the recovery mode, with
the image of the serial cord connecting to an i-tunes logo on its desktop. This morning, I restored the ipad as new, but only allowed the apps manufactured by Apple to be synced back onto the ipad. I have powered it back on about three times, and so far, so good. I am waiting to see what happens the next few times I turn the machine on.
I had a very helpful senior Apple express advisor help me on Sunday to do the restore as a new ipad procedure. He said that if that did not work, the next step was having it serviced. He also mentioned that often the third party apps have problems due to getting corrupt and this often happens after a major update. That is why I thought i'd try and see what would happen if I only synced the Apple apps back onto the ipad.
It is not good though if I can't put third party applications on it without having the problem of lapsing into recovery mode, so I may have to get it serviced. I am wondering how many others have had this problem after the big update last week? Also, has anyone who was an early purchaser and got the flat-rate unlimited data plan subscription from AT&T, had to have their ipad replaced? Was there a problem with AT& T still allowing you to continue your special subscription plan?

Maybe the wrong port or the wrong kind of memory card? You didn't say what version/year of Macbook Pro you have. Below is a photo of the newest one.
Red oval = USB port. It is to the left of the headphone jack.
Blue oval = SDXC card port. Is your card an SDXC card?
What are your options for transferring data to the picture frame? The manual should say.
