Can I force Photo to remove the originals from my mac?

I have a large library of +30K photo's on my mac. This really seems to seem to slow down Photo. Is there a way to change the settings for Optimise Mac Storage so that full resolution originals are not stored on my mac?

The reason for the slowness cannot be the size of the library. It can be several other reasons:
the background processing for the initial setup,
you may simply be running out of storage on your Mac
you may have corrupted media in your Photos library,
you may have incompatible software installed
your Photos library may need repairing.
But the Optimzse Storage option is in the Photos > Preferences > iCloud.

Many apps are not completely removed if the .app file is trashed (which is what I believe you've done so far).
If you don't want to dig through the system to manually remove library files, I recommend the use of AppCleaner, which does the job for you.

Call AppleCare, because, according to Apple, removing the devices from your support profile should have fixed this issue. You can also try changing your Apple ID password, but given what you've done, I doubt this will help.

It's highly unlikely your Mac was hacked. The two most common causes of such emails:
1) Someone hacked into your actual email account, whichever ISP you're using for your email services. Such as Gmail, Hotmail, or the email system of the your Internet provider.
2) Much more common than the previous. A Windows user has your email address in their email client and a Windows email virus is sending out spoofed emails to everyone in their address book.

Empty Camera Roll.
Make a Folder/Album with all photos and videos you want to have in your iPhone and sync them through iTunes.
This will free up space in your iPhone and your iCloud.
The backup of Camera Roll in iCloud is only to restore your iPhone. You can't access them directly.

Best way to remove the sky from a city night skyline photo

I am new to Photoshop CS5 and I am trying to remove the sky from a Chicago night skyline photo of the city and the buildings, so then I could add a more dramatic sky. I've tried the quick select tool but it just didn't work very good to cut out the sky from the outline of the buildings. I've thought about just doing it the old fashioned way by just manually erasing the background, but I thought there must be a quicker better way in CS5. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I can upload a sample of the image that I am working with if that would help. Thanks for any help, Bob

That makes life easier. Most of your buildings will have straight lines, with some curves here and there. The Pen Tool and Paths makes following those curves easy, and those straight lines, even if on a angle, easier still. Once you get the hang of it, it will fly.
I start out with a rough Path, and then zoom way in, and adjust my Points, as is necessary. Sometimes I need to change a Point, and possibly add some more, when the subject gets intricate. I always do a Save Work Path, for my "rough" just in case I sneeze and drag a Point to where it goes all "wonky."
Good luck, and remember - just be patient. You will be rewarded with the result.

It's almost impossible. The new iMacs have a Target Display Mode, but it's built to do that. Without ripping your screen out, finding an acceptable power supply, frame, and whatever electronics to convert a Thunderbolt signal to the screen, the cost will be much larger than buying a cheaper HiDef monitor that runs with an HDMI to Thunderbolt cable to your MacBook 15. In fact, you can sell your 17" MBP for a lot of money, unless it's broken or something, buying you a really sweet monitor.
