Can I free up F9 from the sound controls? Need it for an application.

Lotus Notes uses Alt-F9 and Ctrl-Shift-F9 for view refresh, but apparently all use of the F9 key on my user's Macbook Air is routed to the sound settings. I can't find out how to unset that.

I may have it, but it might complicate matters. OSX will only show that option *if* there is a keyboard attached that has those functions. I checked two Mac Minis running 10.6.8, one with an Apple keyboard and one without. On the one with a non-Apple keyboard the option is missing, just as you described. On the one with an Apple keyboard, the option shows in exactly the same place.
I'm wondering if that option might "go away" on a MacBook Air if you have connected an external keyboard (as you might to be able to use Lotus Notes until you solved this problem). If so, disconnect that keyboard. If it is a bluetooth keyboard, temporarily turn off Bluetooth on the Mac (even if you think the keyboard is off, if it's not the Mac very well may connect to it and then the option may go away).
If plugging in another keyboard isn't the issue, then it appears your machine isn't recognizing that you have this type of keyboard (though clearly it's recognizing it when you press the keys) and that would be a bit more involved.

Yes, there are VIs for acquiring data from Sound cards. And examples too. If you don't have LabVIEW yet, do a search on NI's site for example VIs.

How can i transfer videos without losing the sound to my iPhone 3G?

I have bought my iPhone 3G yesterday. I have found out how to transfer music from iTunes however i can't transfer videos. I'm selecting the videos i want to transfer on the videos tab after i chose my iphone from the side menu and pressing apply. iTunes says that its syncing my iphone but it doesnt transfer the videos.
Lately i have found out a function on the advanced menu for movies as "create iphone or ipod version". When i used that it transfered that video to my iPhone however the sound was completely lost besides that action takes too much time(around 10 mins for a 3 min video and i have a pretty strong computer).
How can i transfer videos without losing the sound to my iPhone 3G?

One thing I'd recommend is that you make sure the video/audio you're trying to transfer falls within the guidelines listed in the 'Video' section here:

What's most likely happening is that the file is not converted as such so when you try to transfer it, it's wanting to convert it but is unable to for any number of reasons.
There's software out there that might make this easier for you but I can't recommend anything specifically.

Try the Store tab in iTunes and Check for Downloads.
If that doesn't work go to the main itunes store screen in itunes and on teh right side under quick links see if you have a purchased secrion - do the tracks appear there for download?

I can't download any apps from the appstore. I try to push the 'free' button and it won't do anything. The 'ratings' button won't work either. They literally don't do anything. I checked with those in my family who have iphones, and they are having the same problems.

I can't install Flash Builder from the Web Premium suite, what should I do?

I just downloaded the Adobe Creative suite 5.5 Web Premium and am about to install the program but notice a note next to the Adobe Flash Builder program... it explains that my system doesn't have the requirements needed for this program. I checked and it explains further details stating that I need to have a • Mac OS X v10.5.6–10.6 and I doubled check which version I have and it's OS X 10.5.8. Doesn't this actually mean that it does meet the requirements?
Please advise as to what can be done to be able to download this specific program.

We do still need more information such as how much memory you have,
resolution of your monitor, how much disk space you have free, which
processor are you using. I good guide is to look at the system
requirements and try to post for each of the items within the
requirements. The system requirements for Web Premium can be found

Apps can't be deleted from iCloud as they only reside in the App store. Also, the apps themselves aren't taking up space in your iCloud account. They only thing in your iCloud account would be the app data that is backed up as part of their iCloud backup, but this generally doesn't use much space. You can check how much is being used, and eliminate specific apps from being included in the backup, by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage on their device, tapping the name of their device under Backups, then checking the apps listed under Backup Options (tap Show All Apps to see them all). Turn an app to Off to exclude its app data from being backed up.
