You mean an SSD drive to replace the internal drive? Won't work. Your powerbook has an IDE/ATA drive interface so you need an SSD with a PATA interface. I know www.Newegg.com used to sell Transcend PATA SSD drives, but they do not seem to stock them anymore.
Current SSD drives are all SATA, and again, some places used to sell bridge cards for those to hook up to IDE/ATA devices, but those would not fit into a laptop.
You could check Amazon or places for Transcend IDE SSD drives. -
My modem is down and can I get the jump-drive to install OS X Lion?
I was informed by my ISP (Hughes.net) that my modem is not functioning to download large files. They are sending a new modem; in the meantime I paid for the Lion upgrade and cannot install it. Can I get the jump-drive sent to me?
The flash drive version would be a new purchase ($69).

I need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes (it won't let me update). I have IE 8 on Windows XP, and iTunes 10 something. In my Program files list I see iTunes and iTunes (2) and even iPod and iPod (2) where a tech had to back up and do this for me before. I'm just trying to fix it all. I keep getting the "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below." I can even run a search and find the folder, but it gives me the same error message. I was planning on using the Microsoft Fix-It tool to help uninstall then Reinstall iTunes. But I need to backup my library. So, how do I copy or back up my iTunes library of over 1,500 songs? Can I copy the folder to desktop or can I use a Flash Drive to backup my music? I don't want to do anything until I know for sure how I can backup my songs, and then reinstall them into iTunes. Thanks for any help.
Ok, thanks that helps. I don't have an external hard drive though. What about backing up through 'the cloud'? I'm just wondering since my husband syncs his iPod to the PC through iTunes and he's worried that he will lose all the songs on his iPod if the library is lost from iTunes and he tries to 'sync' it up again. I'm not exactly sure how to 'copy the entire iTunes folder' either. I kinda suck at this unless I have step by step instructions, which I haven't found yet on iTunes help or other sources.
The only way I know how to back anything up is by going back to a restore point, etc. (as stated before, we don't have an external hard drive.)

Did a search on backing up my iTunes, and only get the option of backing up to a disc (Which is what I've done over the past 3 years. I now have 6 discs accumulated).

Thanks for any advice or help.The backup built into iTunes works only with CDs and DVDs, but you can back up onto a flash drive or hard drive manually. Just drag the entire iTunes folder (normally in your user's Music folder) onto the backup device.

Yes. If you back up the entire iTunes folder, you should be able to just copy it back to the new drive in the same location (user -> Music folder). -
How do I change the desktop icon for an MS-Dos Fat formatted flash drive in Lion?
I have a bunch of flash drives I need to format for work, and we want to put our company logo as the icon for each drive. We wanted to format them as MS-Dos Fat so that they'll be readable and writeable on both Mac and Windows computers. But when I format them that way and change the icon, it displays as a generic preview JPEG image instead of the real image or even the default hard drive icon.
I managed to fix it so the icon will display properly in Snow Leopard, but in Lion the drive still mounts with the generic Preview thumbnail.
Is there any way I can easily format a flash drive so that a) it will be readable and writeable on Windows and OSX machines and b) have the icon for the drive appear correctly on Lion, Snow Leopard, and windows machines?

Try opening and "selecting all" ⌘-A (of your preferred image,) then copy and paste your preferred image on the high-lighted icon in the upper left. -

Welcome to the forums!
I read about how you're attempting to install your Deskjet F2210 on your Windows 7 system and receive Fatal Error codes. I will do my best to help and make some suggestions for you to try.
To being, try a standard copy from the unit to see if it will copy. If copies work, continue troubleshooting. If not, let me know what happened when you made a copy.
Next:
Perform a Level 3 uninstall.
There are 2 ways you can run the uninstall:
From Original installation CD:
1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer
2. Click Start and open 'Computer', and then right click on the CD drive and open
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

9. Download the full feature software and drivers: HP Deskjet F2200/F2224 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver
10. Run the download to reinstall the printer
If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:
1. Click Start and type %temp% in the run field
2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356) (If there is more than one, choose the most recent folder)
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

I have 2 iomegas and 1 LaCie. Changed cables. I can feel the external hard drives running and
I can hear them running but I can not get them on the computer any more. They did work at one time.
Can any one PLEASE help?Nothing appear on my desktop.
I did Repair and Verify the HDDs in Disk Utility>First Aid from the
Utilites App about a dozen times ans they all said everything was good
except for the last time there were erors found and I ran the
Disk Utility from the Start Up Disk and the repairs were made and everything
was subposed to te good and still Nothing on the desk top.

As far as I know, a flash drive is additional to the existing hard drive, not a replacement. Could you keep the old hard drive as a seperate data drive, inside the laptop, and work from the flash drive?Not the way you are thinking. Your model is a generation behind the laptops that have a place for a miniature solid state drive. The only "flash" (solid state) drive you can use is one that is the same size and connection as a regular laptop hard drive (2.5 inch SATA) and it would replace, not be in addition to, the regular hard drive. Having said that, the price of solid state drives is just now becoming somewhat reasonable and the performance gains have to be seen to be appreciated.

WIndows can't find a better one than the installed LSI Conformed 1394 HostcontrollerRead and follow the Bootcamp Installation instructions that you were offered to view when you ran Bootcamp Assistant.
Run Bootcamp Assistant again and select the option to download the Bootcamp Support software. Follow the instructions. Then boot into Windows and install the Windows Support software you downloaded and saved. -
i tried to restore my iphone 4s because it kept saying "searching..." for service so i decided to restore it, after having already reset all network settings, and after trying to restore all settings. still, it only said "searching..." for service. finally, i tried to restore my iphone. when using my macbook, 3/4 through i recieved a message to update my itunes software. i had to close itunes for the update. when i closed itunes, the iphone restore was in pprogress and having to close the program put my phone into this "recovery mode" with the icon of the usb and the itunes disc logo. i also tried updating and restoring the software with my pc which also didnt work. help?
Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...
