Can I get a iPhone without a plan from Verizon
Okay so I have a phone with Verizon already but I want this free iPhone that is posted on the apple website I was wondering if I could get the phone without another plan
No. The iPhone 4S in the Apple Store at $0 up front is not free. It's subsidized by the cell carrier and requires a new two-year contract, part of which cost goes to pay for the phone. Unless your contract has you eligible for a phone upgrade, you would need to pay the full retail cost of the iPhone, which for an iPhone 4S is $450.00 (and is not available for Verizon).

I am currently on a sprint employee plan because a relative works there. I only pay 20 bucks a month. Regardless of how bad I want an iphone, I can justify switching while only paying 20 bucks a month for unlimited data and 500 peak minute voice calls. I am on the instinct, which i am not a particular fan of due to how basic and elementry it is. The only nice thing about it is that I can connect to the internet on my computer wherever I am by using the phone as a modem. Oh, and i will say that the navigation features are great as well!
On the other hand, the iphone is sick. I love the apps that it has to offer, and due to the fact that i get such a great deal on sprint, I was curious to know if the iphone can be purchased with only a data plan. I dont want the calling plan, just the data so taht i can use all of the apps. Is this possible? I was thinkin about an ipod touch, but i like the apps on the iphone that would require a 3g signal.It may be possible to cancel the unlimited data plan for the iPhone 3G and if so, you would also need to request that data access be disabled for your line/number or you will be charged by the KB for all data uploaded/downloaded via AT&T's data or internet network, which isn't cheap. You would also lose visual voicemail since visual voicemail messages are downloaded to the iPhone via AT&T's data or internet network only.
The iPhone is designed to always have an internet connection as long as there is an available wi-fi network that you have access to, or you have cellular reception. If you don't use the iPhone as designed and intended, you might as well get a different phone - a phone that isn't in the smart phone category and isn't designed to always have an internet connection or access. -

Sad but true! I actually want a mocked up iPod touch, so I thought that I would get the iPhone 4S because of the camera and the flash as that is really my main interest in the product. As we know the iPod touch has a horrible camera and no flash. So can a person just get the iPhone and use it with WiFi only and bypass the phone calling and carrier contracts.
The more I research the more I'm finding that to be true. You know having a contract and service isn't that big of deal but it's the credit part that is a ***** for me. I will not be able to walk out of the store without placing an additional deposit and those are not cheap. Thanks for the response though. It was exactly what I needed confirmed.

How can I get a date without the hour from sql server 2000 ?

I have a JTable, and one of it's columns has to show a date. This date i have to show is specified as datetime on the Sql Server 2000 database where I have to take the data.
the query of the dataset attached to the JTable is something like "select * from Table".
The problem is that the JTable column that displays the date shows the date and the hour, for example:
7/10/04 0:00:00
and I need to show the date without the hour, only the 7/10/04. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.

Can you get an iphone 5 at target that uses AT&T or Verizon network and use the Straight Talk plan from Walmart? I don't have AT&T or Verizon network and I don't want to get them but I was just wondering if you can get the iphone 5 that is at target and use it for the straight talk plan. I will be getting the straight talk plan but I would like to do some research on the iphone 5 first for straight talk. At walmart the phone is $544.99 and I think it will be a lot cheaper to buy it at target.
Thank You!When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

I found a good deal for a new white iTouch 4 64GB which is an iPhone 4 without the contract only it was in the color I wanted and the biggest capacity of the new line of iPhones. But thank you anyways! Like i said if I hadn't already bought mine I would probably do that one.

If you purchase the phone at the full contract price and have no term left on your carrier contract, the carrier will unlock it for you. That's what I am doing with AT&T. I'll pay the full purchase price for the phone and since I don't have a contract with them, they will unlock it for you. It can be difficult to get it done since most of their customer service is very ill informed but I have had many discussions with them on their chat that I have records of them stating they will unlock any phone if you do not have an existing contract. It's the law.
