Hey there, is it possible to get a fresh line reset? a friend of mine is on the same cabinet as me and im at 5 mb upload hes at 15. I prefer upload to download as i upload alot of videos so every little helps! i used to get over 10 mb upload but slowly its going down and down

Upload speed has dropped from 12Mbps to 2 Mbps.

I have a screenshot taken of my broadband speed the month I got Inifinity installed. At that point I was consistently getting 70Mbps down, 12Mbps up.
No variables have changed at my end (that I can think of) but now my upload speed is barely 2Mbps. Whilst my download speed is also lower - I'm not as concerned about that for what I am needing it for.

I have tried resetting the modem and home hub, a different router - I've compared LAN and WLAN (on both 2.4 and 5Ghz frequencies), used a pc, used a MAC, tried at different times of day but for reasons unknown the upload speed has taken a really noticeable dive in performance.
I have phoned BT tech support - they advised 'upload speeds aren't gauranteed for residential customers'. They don't appear to agree that a drop in upload of 80%+ is fault related. I can see myself having another go at speaking to them - but before I do :
Can anyone suggest how I can progress this to get my upload speeds nearer where they were? Or steps to try to isolate where the issue is? Could noise on the line affect upload more than download speeds?

Good luck. A few suggestions below, but I am afraid I don't think they will help. Might be worth contacting the mods at: http://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951 . But be aware they take 3 working days to reply: sometimes more if busy; but they have a good record of getting things solved once they are on the case.

Check the upload profile from the wholesale speedtest. It is almost always 20Mbps for an Infinity2 connection, but something could have gone wrong there.

Try a different browser, browser with plugins turned off, firewall and antivrus (temporarily) off, and safe mode. Probably won't make any difference, but still a fairly easy experiment.

If you have an HG612 router, unlock it and monitor stats. Or buy one on eBay and unlock it. Keep modem resets down to an absolute minimum; no problem with HomeHub or other router resets.

Try connecting a PC or Mac directly to the modem: a bit of a faffle I am afraid.
- connect from the modem LAN1 (that is usually connected to the HomeHub/router), to the standard ethernet port on the PC/Mac (that is also usually connected to the router.) So the HomeHub is out of the picture.
- Make a pppoe connection. On a PC it will be something like
- 'network and Sharing Centre',
- 'Set up a new connection',
- 'Connect to the Internet, set up a broadband or dial-up connection'
- 'Broadband PPPoE'
- Then enter username '[email protected]' and password 'bt'.
Detail may vary a little between different version of windows, and of course even more different on Mac or Linux.
Repeat your speed tests and see how they go.
That will help check out if the HomeHub is the problem. Seems unlikely as your have already tried another router.

Upload speed has dropped dramaticly

Long story short, i have had infinity for over 18 months and only been getting 23mb down and 10mb up, had an issue two weeks ago and an engineer was sent out,turns out we have had an issue in the cab since we have had infinity and he sorted it and i now get between 40mb and 45mb down and 9mb to 11mb up, for the past few days my upload speed has been all over the place, under 1mb and upto 3mb but no higher, would love some assistance as i do not want the hassle i had getting the last engineer to come out, many thanks.

I have had a perfectly stable connection at 2.7mb (with no disconnects) but after a firmware upgrade on me router that i guess was done remotely me speed has dropped to 1.5mb. can i get me snr ratio set back to 6db please so i can at least have that extra 1mb (makes all the difference at these slow speeds!!!).

What version is it ?
Check the firmware on the router and compare it with the list here.
For instructions to upgrade the firmware, click here.
After upgrading the firmware, you need to reset the router.
Press the reset button on the router for 30 seconds.
The Power light will start flashing.
Turn the Router and the Modem OFF.
Turn the modem ON first, wait for 10 seconds, turn the router ON, wait for 10 seconds, you should be ONLINE !!!
If not you'll need to clone the MAC address on the router.

I my vision applications I use a lot off times "IMAQ Line Fit"
some times the results are not Stable.
See vi and word document attached.
When I take the same points but in a other order (sort)
then suddenly all points are used.
In this case I was looking for a edge in vertical direction (Y).
I found the points but "IMAQ Line Fit" did not function well.
I tried changing all settings like pixel radius and minimum score and
also threshold and so on. But no result.
Then I sorted the points reversed and that worked. See vi.
I use labview Labview 8.6.0 and IMAQ machine vision.
Maybe this problem is solved in a newer version.
Please let me know.

This "one application" uses "Line fit" about 20 000 000 times a day.
about 200 will go wrong. With your setting the the "Line fit" for this occasion will work but others will go wrong.
A algorithm should be:
1e Stable, when using the same points and settings the result MUST be the same. How the points are sorted should not matter.
2e Accuracy
3e Speed
4e Testing. Is very difficult but al least close points and the same points and sorting ... should be done
NI now as made a " IMAQ Line Fit" Problem CAR (Corrective Action request) 298016.
so in the future there will be a update.
In the mean while a made a line fit which uses Bisquare option from Linear Fit.vi :
from C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\vi.lib\analysis\6fits.llb
This is a temporary fix because "IMAQ Fit Line VI" is not so stable.
Because outliers should be rejected only Bisquare does this reasonable.
This program does NOT USE "Minimum Score" and "Pixel Radius"
Valid fit = When there are enough points within Outlier_Distance.
Algorithm steps:
- Determine if line is more horizontal then vertical, Compare DeltaX with DeltaY
- If DeltaX <= DeltaY then SWAP X Y and later Swap back
- Sort Points at on X value
- First : Bisquare Linear Fit
- Calculate distances to the found line for all points
- Inliers: Points within Outlier_distance
- Outliers: Points outside Outlier_Distance
- Only use Inlier Points
- Check again if DeltaX < DeltaY then SWAP X Y later SWAP back again
- Second : Bisquare Linear Fit only with the Inlier Points
- Results are from the second fit
Warning : This Program is Not so accurate and Not so fast

Thank you so much for your reply . . . but . . . I should have shared my original script with you -- it was a little more complicated than I led you to believer. I was triggering a group of text fields to become disabled as well as gray. Below is the original script so that when the checkbox is checked, it causes several "Co" fields to be disabled and gray.

If you want to sync it to the iPad from that Mac, you need to upgrade it to at least 10.5.8.
If you want to copy the music to another Mac, you don't. Move the iTunes folder of the item in the Finder's sidebar over as you would any other folder. If you put it somewhere other than the Music folder, launch iTunes with the Option key held down and point it to that location.

i've set up ax with both admin utility and setup asst. to use pppoe... i still can not get on-line... it keeps looking for pppoe...
there is no place to input a password for the pppoe account. wondering if this is the cause of no connection to the internet...
mac's networking is set to airport using dhcp...
is this the right set up?

can not get on line. *we have verizon, *bought new router to see if that was problem. *bought airport express to see if that would help, *my son, bs in computer security, has spent days starting over redoing, *we used his dell notebook to go to apple site (what's wrong with that picture?) it did work for awhile, wanted me to start time machine, but would go on line thru safari? says ethernet cables not connected - he tried 2 different ones. i'm at the point of taking this piece of #$@% back to best buy.

Whoa, slow down. It's hard to understand exactly what's going on when you've explained your issue so unclearly.
Please describe exactly what network setup you have at the moment - you have Verizon DSL? What router are you using, are you wired or wireless, how is the Macbook connected to the network, how are your other computer(s) connected to the network? Let's take it step by step and I'm sure we can find out what's going on.

I know nothing about Java Sound, but the items you're comparing in this line are not even close:
if (!line.getLineInfo().matches(info)) This is what println says they are (for the first mixer in my system):
