Can I get a previous time for backup from icloud

I deleted some of my contacts from my new iPhone which in turn deleted them from my iPad, but the wife needs these on there. I have gone to my computer to restore from backup but the time is to current. Is there a way to change the time tomy last previous backup time?

If you are backing up to the cloud, you have access to the last backup, but not previous backups.  It is one deficit to cloud backups.  I would contact iTunes Support and see if they can get access to previous backups.

  • How can I get the elapse time for execution of a Query for a session

    Hi ,
How can I get the elapse time for execution of a Query for a session?
Example - I have a report based on the procedure ,when the user execute that it takes say 3 min. to return rows.
Is there any possible way to capture this session info. for this particular execution of query along with it's execution elapse time?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
You can use the dbms_utility.get_time tool (gives binary_integer type value).
1/ Initialize you time and date of beginning :
    v_beginTime := dbms_utility.get_time ;
    2/ Run you procedure...
    3/ Get end-time with :
    v_endTime := dbms_utility.get_time ;
4/ Thus, calculate elapsed time by difference :
    v_elapsTime := v_endTime - v_beginTime ;
This will give you time elapsed in of 100th of seconds...
Then you can format you result to give correct print time.
    Hope it will help you.

  • I just restored my 13" MBP i5 at the apple store to the newest version of Lion after issues with a previous Time Machine backup from Snow Leopard- this time I created a new account and just ported files and folders, and now MS Office doesn't work. Help?

I just restored my 13" MBP i5 at the apple store to the newest version of Lion after issues with a previous Time Machine backup from Snow Leopard- this time I created a new account and just ported files and folders, and now MS Office doesn't work.
^^ that's the main problem. Here's the full history.
I bought a new 13" i5 MBP, early 2011 edition. I had an old white Macbook 2.14 ghz core2duo on Snow Leopard. I attempted to port over my time machine backup, but encountered problems in that my User was inaccessible from the new computer after the import finished, and I had to go in and change the root password, etc, and for some reason or another, I couldn't install any programs at all from that administrator's account. By "couldn't" I mean I could install them, but upon installation they would never boot. So, I took it to the apple store and did a clean install from the most up to date Lion OSX. Then, I created a brand new admin account, instead of trying to import the old one, and things seemed great. Then, I just imported my old files from the TM backup, but not any system settings, permissions, or user data. Just my Docs, pics, vids, apps, and itunes stuff.
Here's where things get weird again. I imported this stuff under the name "old", but all of these folders have a red negative sign on them, marking them as restricted. So, from my main admin account, I cannot even peruse these folders. Since I didn't import user data, I can't sign in to the "old" account to change permissions. I already tried to change the permissions from system preferences, but that didn't change anything. And now, for whatever reason, of all the apps that were imported then, MS Office is the only set of apps that does not work. When I click on it, it just says there was a problem and asks if I'd like to send a report to apple. I tried reinstalling it to no avail. I'm an English student, so i really need access to Word. Can anyone help? The Apple store is a major detour for me and would like to fix this issue myself.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
    NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

  • With a new Mac, can you join your previous Time Machine backups?

I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere, but my searches couldn't find a specific answer.
So here' the deal.  I got a new rMBP to which I transferred data (via a Time Machine backup) from my old Macbook Air.
Am I correct that on the new computer there is no way to "rejoin" the previous backups and that a new Time Machine backup "thread" must be started?
Assuming that's the case, I'm guessing you also should delete the old TM backup files since they'll be useless).
    Thanks.

*No, what I want is the ability to continue backing up to my existing Time Machine drive when I upgrade to a new computer.*
I think your scenario is possible with one single possible problem - the first time you plug the TM hard drive to the new computer it will want to copy the entire hard drive. If your TM can't hold the old computer's backup files and the entire contents of the new computer you have a small problem. But it it can then you wind up with two backups, one from each computer. However, when you need to restore from your TM files, my understanding is, you can pick from any computer's backup files. In other words, you don't lose anything. It just isn't as smooth as what you want. After a couple weeks have gone by and you are sure your computer is working fine and is stable, you can erase the folder containing the old computer's TM files because you've already developed a couple weeks of your new system.
If your TM drive isn't big enough to back up the new computer, I'm not sure what your options are other than to buy a new bigger hard drive, clone the TM files onto it and then do as I suggested above.
Remember, TM is a version 1 product and we've plenty of proof that Apple is listening to us. Use feedback to describe your scenario and how you want it to work. Version 2 may well incorporate some of your desires.

  • How can I "Put Back" a time machine backup from the trash to my external hard drive?

Basically what happened was I accidentally put an older time machine backup from my external hard drive into the trash on my macbook. Since then, time machine has made new backups onto my external hard drive. How can I either "Put Back" or replace the deleted backup back into my hard drive?
Whenever I try to move it it says "A newer item named “Backups.backupdb” already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the older one you’re moving?" I click replace and after a few minutes of loading, it says "Cannot replace. An item named "" already exists."

As long as you don't delete the trash, the files should be recoverable.
I suspect using the Put Back command could take a long time, so be patient.
If your Time Machine backups are mixed with your daughter's backups you might want to buy a larger drive and move the Time Machine files to the new drive.
Regarding missing photos in iPhoto...There might be options to rebuild/recover that data from iPhoto rather than trying to revert to a Time Machine backup.
Check out this third party app, iPhoto Library Manager. It has a demo.

    Options for a larger drive.
I like the Seagate USB 3.0 Backup plus drives. Works on USB 2.0 ports. They come formatted for PC but easy to format in Disk Utility.
I don't recommend Western Digital because of the boot problem with some of their drives.
    LaCie makes good drives.
All Mac formatted drives will cost more and it’s easy to reformat with Disk Utility. Do not use the software that comes with the drives. It’s recommended that you use Apple’s Disk Utility.
Prices vary but this gives you an idea of what you’ll find. As you notice the second and third TB is usually only $15 more per TB. Normally, you’ll find these prices but right now the 1T is more than the 2T
Seagate Backup Plus 1 TB USB 3.0 $85
Seagate Backup Plus 2 TB USB 3.0 $99
Seagate Backup Plus 3 TB USB 3.0 $115
I have seen the 3T on sale for $99.
Locally, Best Buy seems to have the best prices.

  • Why can't I select previous Time Machine Backups?

I'm running 10.7.5 on a 2010 Macbook Pro and, as of a few hours ago, I can no longer select previous back ups in Time Machine in order to delete entire back ups or single files. Can someone help me here? My ext HD is full and I want to create some space on it since Time Machine doesn't seem to be doing it automatically.
    Thanks!

    Hey Anania!

  • How can i get my imac to sync ical from icloud

my iphone and ipad 2 have the correct ical, icloud also has the correct ical, how can i get my imac to sync from them?

Use iCloud to sync the calendar between your MacBookPro and your iPad.
See Settings > iCloud on the iPad  and the OS X control panel.

  • In LV6.1, can I get the run-time menu refnum of a VI from the VI Path?

Actually, for any version of LabVIEW, can I get the run-time menu refnum from the VI Path (or the VI reference)?
    Thanks!
    Enrique
    www.vartortech.com

I just thought of a workaround...you could have a Menu Bar Ref indicator on your main VI front panel.  When your VI runs, you could have the Current VI's Menubar function wire the refnum into that indicator.  Then, in your subVI that has the VI reference, you could use VI Server to read the value of that indicator, then cast the value into a refnum wire, then you'd have access to the menubar reference in the subVI without having to pass it in to a subVI terminal.  Would that work?
Oh, another simpler idea would be to simply wire the Menubar reference into a global, and read that global in the subVI.

  • Can I restore time machine backup from Panther 10.3.9 to Lion 10.7?

    Hi,
I would like to upgrade my old mac running Panther 10.3.9 to a new Mac running Lion before it fails on me.
Can I simply restore a Time Machine backup from Panther to Lion? Will my applications come across and function normally?
Let me know if you need any specific names of apps.

No your applications will not run on an Intel Mac running Lion.  Macs running Panther 10.3.9 were PPC processors.  Lion has no support for these old Applications  Leopard and Snow Leopard supported some old PPC Applications using Rosetta

  • Move Time Machine backup from hard drive to Time Capsule

I have a new Time Capsule.  Can I move my existing Time Machine backup from a hard drive to the TC?  The tips given back in 2010 in this forum are no longer available.

It is extremely difficult if the disk you are talking about is plugged into your computer.. TM does different kind of file for network drives.. so you need to trick it.

  • I am setting up my Iphone 6 but keep getting an error message "cannot restore backup from Icloud...I backed up my old Iphone 5 just yesterday...Any suggestions?

During setup of Iphone 6 I keep getting error message "cannot restore backup" from Icloud.  I backed up my old Iphone 5 yesterday.  Is it because of different operating systems? Please help. Thanks!

Does your iPhone 5 IOS is later than iPhone 6 IOS?
If true, you need to update your iPhone 6 before you can restore from your backup.
If not, is iPhone 6 connected to power supply?

  • How can I receive all my apps, pics, etc. from iCloud to put on my new iPad?

I was unable to get anything from iCloud when initially setting up my iPad. How can I get all my apps and etc, from iCloud now that I already have my iPad set-up.. I know I have to get it thru iTunes but how do I go about it from iTunes. Please help kinda of confused here. Also do I need to do it from a computer or can I set it up right from my iPad?

If you want to restore from your iCloud backup you actually have to erase the device and start all over again - but I think you are aware of that.
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and Settings. That totally wipes the iPad and forces you to start all over again and then you can restore from the iCloud backup when prompted to do so.
Unfortunately you cannot restore this way unless you are connected to WiFi. Cellular will not work, because celluar does not work until the iPad is activated and so you are in a vicious cycle with no way out until you have WiFi.
Can you go to a library or anywhere that has free WiFi - or a friends house - and activate the iPad there? You just have to go somewhere to get an Internet connection via WiFi now.

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here.
If it was an audiobook then they are one-time only downloads, to get it on your other devices you need to sync it to them and not re-download it oneach. You can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will refund or credit you for the second and third downloads : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • My ipod nano was synced by itunes and removed all of my music and game files. I am in the process of adding my music back one cd at a time, but there is no history of tetris that I paid for from the itunes store. How can I get this game back for my ipod?

My ipod nano was synced by itunes and removed all of my music and game files, and replaced my music with my kids music that they have put into the current itunes library. My music is nowhere to be found on my computer, so now  I am in the long, forever process of adding my music back one cd at a time, but there is no history of tetris that I paid for from the itunes store. How can I get this game back for my ipod?

Contact iTunes support and explain your situation to them.  They may let you redownload it at no cost.

If they don't, I'm afraid you'll have to purchase it again.  Sorry.

Unfortunately, that drive is long gone, probably back to the mfr. Drives are not returned when they are exchanged. You can go by and ask them, but the chances are slim to none.
