Can I get a refund on recent purchase of Mountain Lion if unable to install?

I downloaded an upgrade of Mtn Lion and it will not install. Have been in phone contact with Apple Support twice and still unable to load. What are my options to start over with a refund or ?

Can you post the error messages (if any), or just describe in detail what happens when you try to install?
I'm assuming you're talking about having bought Mountain Lion on the Mac App Store, and you're trying to upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion.

You contact iTunes store support and plead your case. YOU are responsible for the security of your Apple ID and password. There are numerous mechanisms in place to make it easy to prevent unauthorized purchases. IF they agree to give you a refund, they will not do so a second time.

  • Can I get a refund on a purchase

I made a purchase that I don't want. Is there a way I can get a refund on the purchase?

    There are no refunds.
    Sorry.
You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception.  They are under no obligation to allow such a thing.

  • HT1689 How can I get a refund on a purchased app from the App Store?

I purchased an app from the App Store and did not get an email receipt.  After opening the app, I found it didn't do what I thought it was designed to do.  I can't seem to find out how to get a refund from my recent purchase.  Any help would be appreciated.

Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

  • I can't get text-to-speech to work in Mountain Lion

I am running a MacBook Pro Retina with mountain lion and I can't get text-to-speech to work. I have selected the text and pressed the key to initiate it, but it just doesn't start to talk.

    (cross-posting from another thread)
I'm having the same problem. It's as if my iPhone and MacBook Pro now have two separate calendars.
Basically, I have a MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion, 13", late 2011) that I sync via USB with an iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1.1). Before upgrading to Mountain Lion, all of my iCal events would sync flawlessly. But none of the events I've created in iCal (Calendars) since upgrading have synced to the iPhone. Likewise, no new events that I create on the iPhone Calendar will sync to iCal. Also, changes to an existing event (even one created before upgrading to Mountain Lion) don't get synced either.
Everything else seems to be syncing just fine though (music, apps, contacts, etc).

  • Can I get a refund on a purchase I previously made

    Help please :)

What kind of purchase?  An App?  The app store clearly states all sales are final.  If you mistakely purchased you can plead your case with the store staff at http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

  • I can't get email banners to show up in Mountain Lion

All my other notifications work in the Notification Center, except for new email??  Don't understand?

Im using Apple Mail.  My other banner notifications are working fine and, for example, Messages does not need to be running in the backgroud.  From what I understand, the Mail banners should act just like they do on my iPhone, pushed whenever I receive a new message.  Thanks

  • Can I restore from backup of time machine of Mountain Lion on a fresh install Older Snow Lepord

Currently I have OS X 10.8.5 on my macbook pro.
I have done much of the recovery tricks stated on variour threads. SO as apple support suggested I even tried the internet restore of the OS.
After a long wait the installable started and I selected the option to reinstall the OS. But it prompted back that that the version which I have installed on the the macbook pro was the latest and hence can't be replaced. So the option to restore from my time machine and I was able to work on the mac for sometime. I thought the issue was resolved, but it doesn;t seems so.
So will it be wise to completely wipe out the OS and reinstall from scratch. I have snow lepord OS DVD which originally came with the mac.
So if I install from scratch snow lepord, will I be able to restore files which were backed up on OS X Lion (current OS) ? Kindly advice.

I got a discussion thread here which suggests I can't

  • I have over 40 itunes purchases all all play back fine. But my last purchase Ip Man2 keeps freezing on play back and I know it"s not y PC, get no helpful response  from apple, what can I do to get a refund on that purchase or a better copy.

I have over 40 Itunes purchases and they all play back fine, But my last purchase Ip Man2 keeps freezing on play, I know it's not my PC because all my other itunes movies play fine, wasn't able to get a helpful response from APPLE, How can I get a refund on that purchase or a better copy.

I own the movies and I want them to stay in my iTunes library basically forever.
But in both cases the file name no longer shows in the movie list, so I don't know how to re-download it from the Cloud.
iTunes prefs > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
This will show all your iTunes purchases in your library with a cloud icon down arrow. Click the icon to redownload or click on Play to stream without downloading.
Also see this , -> Download past purchases
and techncially, you don't "own" the movie, You simply have a license to use it.
Yet the first thing iTunes does when you hit the delete key is tell you that it will remove the movie forever from all devices and the library.
Actually, no it does not tell you that.
FYI: You should keep copies of all yoru iTnue spurahses as the labels/movie studios/copyright owners can pull their product at anytime and it won't be available to redownload.

I purchased quicken through the app store and it will not download. Can I get a refund for the app?

Disable anti virus softwrare if installed
Check your settings in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options
    Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected. If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.
    OS X: About Gatekeeper
Then try downloading Quicken >  Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Just so you are aware, "all sales are final" as noted here >  iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE:   TERMS AND CONDITIONS
But you can at least ask for a refund > Apple - Support - Topic Selection
