I don't want to pay $12 a month, but $5 for me is doable. I'm a student, and i've seen people talking about a student discount in the UK and US If it's not available in Australia, why not?

Im buying a mbp this weekend and I'm just wondering if i should buy it online or at an apple retail store because I'm not sure if you can get the student discount at the retail store? and for id to prove I'm a student which i haven't received from the school yet how else can i prove that?

You can check local retailers. Sometimes they don't have as much of a discount as a 'buy and iPad get a gift card worth....' or 'buy an iPad, get this bundle of accessories for.....'
You can also see what your college bookstore has to offer. May/may not but doesn't hurt to look.

Trying to get Spotify student discount, but it won't let me pay.

I've been trying to get the student discount for premium. I've already validated that I am a student at a university. But every time I put in my payment information, it gives me the error: Oops, seems your card or payment provider is having a bad day. Don't worry, no money has been charged. Try again or use another payment method. I know that my card is working because I've been using it to purchase other things online. It's just not working with Spotify.

I was given a free month and asked to try again after that. My free month expired today and I attempted to sign up with my NUS student discount expecting it to fail but it didn't!!! 1) I visited https://www.spotify.com/uk/student/2) I selected get premium with NUS Extra3) I entered my credit card details - and it accepetd them (this was a probelm with multiple cards last month even though they were fine)4) I entered my NUS number and date of birth5) it worked!!!!! Apple does not offer educational discounts to individual purchasers for any of the iOS devices. It's possible that if, as Carl suggested, you purchased in quantity you could negotiate something, but officially the quantity discount is available only to schools.

not sure you can get "student discount" for this app. you will have to ask more detail from your Apple representative.
when you click/ order some merchandise from the Apple store (https://store.apple.com), there's link at bottom of page (like "Apple Store US," "Education Store," "Business," or "Government Store"). you click on the [Education Store] & in the prompt you enter the name of your university/school. but Logic Pro is not purchased here.
you have to purchase Logic Pro from the App Store... and APP store doesn't have [Education Store] link. so your Apple representative in Prague may have a different way to complete this. or Apple World Wide.

9 Months ago I purchased an iMac with my University student discount, but now looking into upgrading my machine. I wanted to know if I would be able to get another machine with my Educational Discount? I purchased the iMac in my second year of University, now I'm in my third and find that I need a machine more powerful. It would be good to know if anyone has any information.

Hello all so I got charged 9.99 this month for the first time and so canceled my subscription so that I could rejoin for the reduced price of 4.99 but when I try it gives me this message It appears that you are not eligible for the discounted product that you are trying to purchase. If you'd like you can still upgrade your account to premium at any time. I know I get 4 years of the student discount and this will complete my first year of using spotify.
