Can I get GPS prompts over Handsfree or Headset profile?

I have a car stereo with A2DP bluetooth and I can connect and receive all audio from my iPhone (including GPS prompts) just fine when I select Bluetooth(A2DP) as the 'source'.  The bluetooth source is like any other source such as AM, FM, CD, AUX, etc.
But what I want is to get my GPS voice prompts from an iPhone GPS app to come via the *Hands-free* or *Headset* profile.  These profiles override the selected 'source', just like a phone call.  That way I can listen to my FM station, Sirius radio, etc. and have that audio stream _interrupted_ by the GPS voice prompt.
I've noticed that playing a Voicemail works this way, so I know the hands-free and headset profile aren't strictly limited to active phone calls.
Is there a GPS app that sends its voice prompts over the hands-free or headset profile, or an app that redirect output to one of these profiles?
Thanks!!

Hello Danmtl,
If what you are referring to is being able to use a Bluetooth headset for Google Maps voice navigation, then you're in for disappointment. Google Maps w/ Navigation is only available for Android devices at this point in time, although there are talks of Google allowing the service to be placed on Windows Phone 7. As for the WebOS lineup, your only options for voice navigation would be either Verizon's VZ Navigator or Spint's Sprint Navigation. Either of those would require that you had purchased the phone specifically from that provider, so no luck for you there.
Looks like we're all waiting on Google to step in for us at this point in time!

  • Can't get Lightroom Color Management to select custom profiles

I can't get Lightroom Color Management to select custom profiles.
    - I select "other" in Profile,
    - a pop-up box shows me numerous profiles to choose from
    - I select a profile and the selection is highlighted
    - I press "OK" and the pop-up box disappears
    - but if I go back to the "Profile" selection line, only "Managed by Printer" is available.
    What's wrong here?
Is the inability to select a profile the reason that prints from Lightroom look way to dark when I print them?
    Vick

Oh, I'm on Windows, XP with SP2.
    The profiles are in C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color
I used the .exe that was provided by Epson for installing the drivers.
    Nothing fancy, nothing different.
For Lightroom, I installed it off CD, and got the 1.3.1 update off their Adobe site.
Any clues there, to solve the puzzle?

  • Can't get a prompt to collect dataset.

Hi I posted a question below
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Acrobat/9.0/Standard/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7dd2. w.html#ionComHere
I have problem posting a comment above again, so I am writing my question here.
I have created a form in LC designer ES. I tested by submitting the form to myself. I get the completed file in my email. When I open the returned form, there is no prompt or dialog box to collect the dataset into a responses file . I have to manually save the file and add the file by Comile returned forms. It used to be automatic in the previous version of Livecycle designer when I had Acrobat 8. After upgrading to Acrobat 9, I have this problem. Please help. Thanks in advance for the help.
I have some screen shots in the attached file.

    Tamilgodi

    Hi Tamilgodi,
I don't see the screenshot, but let's work on...
In relation to previous versions, I think that "Datasets" are no longer applicable to v9. Acrobat automatically stores the responses in the "_responses.pdf" file. This is provided you have distributed the form through Acrobat first.
I think you are using Acrobat Standard v9. That is not an issue as the Acrobat.com should be a feature of the Standard version.
The help file for Standard also states:
Acrobat provides several distribution options in the Send For Shared Review and Distribute Form wizard. When choosing an option, consider the security needs for the distributed file, what servers or websites your recipients can use to download the file, and how you want to receive comments or form data.
    Acrobat.com
Acrobat.com is a free, secure web service that works with Acrobat. Participants download a file from Acrobat.com, and add comments or forms data using Acrobat. When finished, participants publish comments or submit secure form responses to Acrobat.com. Form responses are also stored on your hard drive as they are returned. When using Acrobat.com, you can also allow reviewers or form submitters to open and share the PDF in a live chat session.
    Internal server
You can use your own internal server location if your recipients work behind a firewall and all have access to a common server. The server can be a network folder, Microsoft SharePoint workspace (Windows only), or a web server folder. You can include a link to your distributed PDF or send it as an attachment in an email message. For reviews, published comments are uploaded to the server. For forms, responses are stored on your hard drive as they are returned.Note:  Web server folders are not available for form distribution.
When you specify your own server, the wizard prompts you to save a profile with the server location and the distribution options you chose. The next time you distribute a PDF, the saved profile is available as an option in the wizard.
    Email
The Distribute Forms wizard has an option for sending a form as an email attachment. You can send the form using your own email client, or use the wizard to create an email message in which the form file is attached. Once your recipients fill out and submit the form, the responses are returned to your mailbox. Each response is copied into a master response file.
The email attachment option is not available in the Send For Shared Review wizard. To start the wizard for an email-based review, choose Comments > Attach For Email Review.
The following are the screenshots of what I see when I distribute forms to Acrobat.com. Click Forms / Distribute Form... I hope that you have similar choices:
We have previously set up a free account on Acrobat.com. When you click Next (above) Acrobat logs you into your Acrobat.com account (it may ask for your log in details).
Once Acrobat has resolved the email addresses (it could't resolve the above addresses). It will open the tracker window, which was in my previous post. At this stage the form is distributed and the receipents will have received their notifications.
One issue you may be having is that the receipents have to be using the free Acrobat Reader version 9 as a minimum. Now I know that you have the Standard version, but it may be that your system also have the Reader installed. I would recommend that you download the Reader v9 as well and see if that resolves it.
I appreciate that you are experienced in distributing forms, and I only include the screenshots to show you what I am seeing.
I really hope that this helps,
    Niall

  • Can I get the voice over Bluetooth with Google Map on WEBOS 2.0 (Palm Pre 2)?

    Hi,
I just got a Palm Pre 2 with WEBOS 2.0, I am wondering if there is a setup or an application that can provide/enable the GPS voice over bluetooth when using the direction from the Google Map?

  • Can't get ok prompt on V440

    Hi all,
I have a V440 for upon bootup gives me the option of getting into ALOM with #. - I assume pretty standard. I don't have the ALOM password so I want to re-install Solaris 10.
When connected to the Management serial interface (on the PCI card) with either Hyperterminal or Terraterm, I cannot get to the ok prompt. I send a break and am given the following on the console:
SC Alert: SC request to send break to host
At this point I would expect the ok prompt. However, I am not given this, and am not able to type anything. The only thing I can do is send another break, upon which I am given the same message above.
Is there anything else I can try to get the ok prompt? It seems the boot device is the hard disk as well, not the cdrom, so I can't install that way either.
    Thanks in advance.

Even i tried to get the Ok prompt on V480 but i was not successfull. Can someone give step by step answer to be done when we get a notepad like screen when we are installing solaris 10 on V480. (Sorry if i dint use the exact terms).

  • How can I get GPS modified photos to update?

I recently took some holiday photos and sync'ed them using iTunes from a particular directory. When viewed in iPhoto -> Places, I found quite a few had not been saved with GPS details. (Since found out my camera takes about 40s to establish its location.) I used some windows software to update these photos with GPS information (to the iTunes Library directory) but the changes do not synch. It seems iTunes is buffering the original somewhere? Can anyone suggest the quickest method or if there is an iPad app?

  • How can I get GPS for my MBP

My brother has a Tom-Tom GPS unit in his van and I want to use my MBP to do the same thing. I think that I have seen a product for the Mac that will do about the same thing.

    This is my setup:
o Bluetooth GPS (GlobalSat BT-338, 14+hrs battery life, very sensitive, excellent receiver)
    o MBP
    o Google Earth
o gps2geX and gpsdX from http://www.grandhighwizard.net/ (free) retrieves position from GPS receiver and plots it in Google Earth
    o touchscreen (8in)
    o power convertor (DC->AC)
    Advantages:
    o the software is free
o navigating via Google Earth is really very cool, since we get satellite images. It's not necessary to have a continuous network connection (e.g. via phone) for Google Earth to work, I use its cache, which can hold up to 2GB. Google Earth can plot the route to destination too. So far, the routes are 100% accurate, even in Europe.
    Disadvantages:
o There are way too many cables.
o Needed a power adapter to convert from 12V to AC, then use my Mac adapter to power my Mac. I guess there's some way to change the DC voltage without going via AC. Also needed to power my touchscreen.
The touchscreen isn't absolutely necessary, but when I drive by myself it's hard and dangerous to look at the notebook screen placed on the passenger seat. I doubt anyone would put a 15/17in notebook on the dashboard
Because of the mess of cables, I am considering buying the Samsung Q1. If Apple comes up with a similar product, I'll buy it immediately. Since the device is so small, I can mount it on the dashboard. Since it is a complete computer (and not a PDA), I can install Google Earth. That would get rid of almost all the cables (except power, but that's just 1).
    Hope this helps

I have installed uptodate bios for motherboard and vga card.
Up to date via 4in1 chipset drivers. (and sound drivers) v.449

Put "auto" for agp speed in bios setup. (also tried on 4X)

Somehow i had 4X in agp speed on display properties before i upgraded

Can't fluke it out again though...
Please help... It's a shame to have the extra speed and not be able to use

    HockeyFan,
Unfortunately no one from MSI reads these threads, we are all users helping one another.
You mentioned that you flashed the BIOs on the VGA card, VGA cards are not like motherboards and they generally don't require flashing unless there is an exact reason and the manufacturer clearly states the benefit of doing so. I constantly see users using live update to do this and it can often lead to problems.
EDIT **** I overlocked the Title
Ok, Did you save the original BIOS for the VGA card? Try flashing it back to the original one.

I believe you need a password to copy the users files over. (movies... documents... photos... stuff like that.)
You need to erase the hard drive of all files (losing them) and reinstall a fresh copy of OSX. If it Lion or Mountains Lion, your stuck again. You'll need an Apple Store account, credit card and password to download Lion or Mountain Lion OS.
If you successful in reinstalling the OS... who(m) ever owns the computer will have your bu-tt for dinner!

  • I can't get password prompt to display; have already tried resetting Firefox and still problem occurs in Safe Mode.

The problem is with not with every website, just one. This is a site that previously remembered my username & pw, but I changed the pw and the prompt did not display to update it, so I deleted it from the Firefox/Options/Security/Saved Passwords tab, and now when I type in the new pw, it's still not asking me whether I want to remember the pw (nor does it remember the old pw). I tried Safe Mode and I tried resetting Firefox. Neither one worked.

You can check if there are entries in the password manager with an empty user name.<br />
    Remove saved Password(s):
    * Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
You can also check the exceptions.
    * Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: Exceptions
You can remove all stored data from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry (Show All History or History sidebar) or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove everything like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions from that domain, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.<br />
You can't recover from that "forget" unless you have a backup of the affected files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

  • P7N Platinum Can't get FSB speed over 350 mHz

Trying to overclock a bit but when I use BIOS, won't let me change multiplier unless some speedstep is turned off.  I cant find where in the BIOS I have an option to turn it off.  I am using BIOS ver. 1.3.  Also, when I use Dual-corecenter with windows running, I can get FSB up to 350 MHz and all is stable but will not go above 350 MHz...I select 400 in the dropdown and it just resets to 350.  So, if anyone can let me know how to turn off the safestep and/or how to increase the multiplier in BIOS 1.3 that would be great.  I have heard that I can go to 3.7 GHz with Wolfdale 3.0 GHz E8400 and stock fan & heatsink.  I have an Antec air-cooled full case with plenty of airflow.  At 3.150 GHz, CPU temperature is only 71F when surfing or playing music and doesn't go above 83F when playing my most intensive games.  Answers to these three questions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
    Bob   ???

The automatic shutdown point of your CPU is somewhere around 90-100°C (Core Temperature).  The processor will automatically underclock and undervolt itself if the core (!) temperatures are approaching this point. That is how you know when the processor definately running too hot.  50°C is a very safe but also rather conservative threshold.  If your CPU approaches the 60°-70°C area and even exceeds 70°C under full load (core temperatures), that is when you should really start to work on better cooling.  However, 60°-65°C is still a rather safe range.
