Question as stated above I don't know which generation I have as it was bought for me through my job. It says in the about settings that it is running iOS 4.3.5 (8l1). I would like to download the kindle app which requires iOS 5. Can I upgrade my iOS? And if so how?

If it was stolen, the thief will soon find out it's useless. iOS 7's Activation Lock prevents its use by anyone other than its legitimate owner. If you provided contact information, that's all you can do. Wait until someone honest finds it.

Try deleting the account from the iPod and reentering the settings. It is easy to make an error and notbe able find it.

I've been trying to search for games/apps for my iPod Touch but can't seem to find anything that doesn't required iOS 3.0 or greater.
Does anyone have any suggested apps/games for the older gen ipod touch? Is there a way to search the apps store for these older apps?

If I may ask, why do you not just upgrade your iPod's operating system? Even the first-generation iPod touch can run iOS 3, and the 2nd-generation iPod touch can run iOS 4, though not all features work. Then you would have a much broader range of apps available to you.
