Can I get iTunes 6 back?

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get iTunes 6 back? iTunes 7 is pants and freezes every time I plug my iPod in and also has removed most of the songs from my it.
If it's possible, could someone tell me how in plain, simple instructions as I'm quite dim when it comes to computing!
Here's hoping....

I'd like to go back too. I've found i-Tunes 7 to be big, sloppy, glitchy, slow, and terribly inconvenient. Apple, please do something about this!!!!

Hello. I have had iTunes 7 for a few months, but it keeps skipping when I am trying to do somthing else on the internet, like load a new page, or if I'm scolling fast. Is there a way to get iTunes 6 back, or can this be fixed? Thanks.

I just uninstalled 7.x and went back to 6.0.5.20 this morning due to a different issue. iTunes 7.x doesn't work with Roku MP3 player so I had to revert to the older version.
If you have all your music under one main directory (like C:MP3 or something like that) then it is easy to revert back. When I installed 6.x it wouldn't come up because it said I had a library from a later version, so I just deleted the .itl and .xml library files and then recreated them. Just startup iTunes and go to "File/Add Folder to Library" browse to your top MP3 directory and it will add everything. Only takes a few minutes. I think the only issue would be if you use the ratings that those get lost but I don't use that anyways.

A lot of burning problems with ITunes 6.. Where Can I Get ITunes 4 back?

Few weeks ago I've installed ITunes 6 on my new pc.
At this point of time I could burn CDs, but the soundcheck didn't work. I've inserted a blanc disc and selected the playlist. But then the Burn- Button didn't get yellow. So I clicked on it and the CD was directly burned without aligning the volumes of the songs..
The second problem occured today. I've reinstalled iTunes 6 and now the message 'disc recorder not found' appears each time, when I wanna burn a disc.
What does It Mean?
Is It possible to switch back to iTunes 4. There I hadn't any problems..

How can I get iTunes 5 back???

I have looked all over the downloads section and I cannot find iTunes 5 for windows. I see dwnlds for mac users but not windows. This is so messed up. I updated my iTunes to iTunes 6 and of course the QT7.0.3 had an error while installing and won't work so naturally iTunes won't work. If I uninstall will I lose all the music I have bought and downloaded? I don't know what else to do, I need help please.

If you have been syncing regularly as the iphone is designed, then you can sync the data back.
Regardless you will have to restore the iphone.

Unless you subscribe to iTunes Match , Apple does not keep a backup of your iTunes library. Even then it is not the library as it exists on your computer, but some version of the media, and only media files, not playlists. Even then not all media are definitely available since anything removed from the iTunes Store since you purchased it is not available for re-download.

In your case it sounds like you will have to obtain non iTunes purchases from their original source or a backup you may have made at some time in the past.

A new version shouldn't do that but it does seem to happen on occasion to a few unlucky ones. Restore your library from the backup you make of your computer before you install new software. If you don't have one, this is a learning experience.
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
