Can I get Mountain Lion without downloading it

Is Mountain Lion available in other forms than downloading it??

Search for something like "Mountain Lion install disc" and you will find ways of putting the installer on a double sided DVD or a USB stick (would nee about an 8Gb one).  Initially you download, then halt the installer when it starts up, follow a few steps and create a permanent copy of it on optical media or USB memory stick.
P.S. here is CNET's version

  • How can I buy Mountain Lion without download etc. Just associate with apple id to do reinstall on Mountain Lion Macbook

I am trying to reinstall a Macbook Pro that had previously been upgraded to Mountain Lion x by the old owner. When I try to reinstall I need to input an apple ID that has purchased Mountain Lion. My ID hasn't. How can I either revert back to the original OS or associate Lion with my apple ID. I have happy to pay the $19.95 just cannot find where.

You can purchase Mountain Lion using your Apple ID at the App Store. You cannot use the version installed by the old owner. In fact it should not have even been installed by the old owner when he sold it.
You can install Snow Leopard and update it to 10.6.8 in order to purchase Mountain Lion under your Apple ID.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion

             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later

To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

I do not have a high speed internet connection. How can I get Mountain Lion on a disk for install on my 24" Imac?

As long as you use your Apple ID to purchase it, I don't see why they wouldn't let you download the installer on one of their Macs and put it on a pocket drive.
Or, a friend with a high speed connection?
I agree with you about the delivery method, just trying to help you get what you want.

  • How can i get mountain lion reinstalled if my mac says apple id never purchased? hd failed 2 wks after wty expired, I am the original owner, i have done command-r

how can i get mountain lion reinstalled if my mac says apple id never purchased? hd failed 2 wks after wty expired, I am the original owner, put another hd in, done command-r & sys reinstalled, but it wanted to update & now am stuck. I don't mind paying for mountain lion; it is too far to get to an apple store. but, i only have one mac, so i cannot download with another mac. lots of other apple, but only one mac.

You will need to do a network recovery:
    Install Lion/Mountain Lion on a New HDD/SDD
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your external hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

    Only on a new Mac.
In simple terms, you either need:
A qualifying 10.7 Mac purchased on June 11, 2012 to 10.8's release date, then you have 30 days afterwards to upgrade to 10.8 for free.
Bought a qualifying new 10.7 Mac on or after the 10.8 release date which you then have 30 days to request a free 10.8 upgrade.

  • How can i get mountain lion if i only have 10.5.8?

Do i need to bay snow leopard first to get mountain lion? I'm sorry if my english suck

You also need to make sure that your computer can handle it: please see this page and checkthe 'Supported models' section.
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
If your Mac is not listed there you won't be able to run Mountain Lion.
If it is able to run it you will first need to buy Snow Leopard: this is no longer sold in the Apple Store but if you ring the Store for your country you may be able to buy it that way.

  • Can I get Mountain Lion?

I have an iMac, purchased around 2007, but not sure when exactly. When I go to "About this Mac" it doesn't give me a date of the model, just the model identifier as iMac4,1.
I run Snow Leopard at the moment but want to get Mountain Lion.
Can I do this with my imac?
    Thanks

Regrettably, your model only has a Core Duo processer, so can't run Lion either. You may be able to get some email functionality for .me accounts, but I think you need Lion at least for iCloud sync.

  • Can I get mountain lion on disc

Can I buy Mountain Lion on disc?

    Hi
Restart or start up your mac and hold down Command + R keys
    Cheers
Incidently, you can create a bootable Mountain Lion USB Installer from the Installer you purchased and downloaded from the Mac App Store, if you haven't already installed the OS, after which the installer will disappear, but you can always re-download the installer again.
Having a USB installer saves you the time to re-download the OS installer, if you want to install on another mac, and also lets you boot from the USB installer.
    Here's how:
    1. Downloading/Re-downloading the installer
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1167855/installing_mountain_lion_what_you_need_t o_know.html
    2. Creating a bootable installer
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1167857/how_to_make_a_bootable_mountain_lion_ins tall_drive.html
It is very good advice to keep a USB installer at hand whenever and wherever you need it.
    Cheers

  • I can't seem to get mountain lion to download.  It just sits in my dock and won't load.  Tried starting in safe mode an reloading - still won't work.

Very frustrated.  I can't sync my music with my phone because apparently there is a bug in the version of iPhoto I have.  So I tried to update to the latest and was told it's incompatible with my OS.  So I decided to shell out the $20 for Mountain Lion (even though I feel I shouldn't have to since the software I'm using isn't working).  Now the download of Moutain Lion just sits in the dock and won't download.  I tried restarting the computer in safe mode and redownloading, still no luck.

Edit --> Preferences --> Media and Disk Cache --> Purge. And you might wanan consider substituting any compressed audio sources with WAVs, too, to avoid such corruptions. Similarly, check your audio in a proper audio editing app. Odd sample rates, weird channle mapping and so on can have all sorts of ill effects.

  • How can I get Mountain Lion upgrade to download

I am trying to upgrade my Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.8 to Mountain Lion and am not meeting with a lot of success.  The Mountain Lion upgrade will not load past 79.34MB of the 4.37GB dowload.  At this point the word 'Calculating' appear and the download  never gets any further.  My Broadband is not very quick as we are out in the sticks but I have not had this problem previously.  Any ideas?  Would it be possible to download to a stick on another computer and then install
    on my Mac?

Thanks adamlong277 !!   I had the same problem.  Took your advice and downloaded 'hopstop shield'.   It immediately resumed and got past the 79.34MB point.  It looks like a nice feature to have in case anything like that happens again, especially as it's so easy to connect/disconnect 'hotstop shield' at anytime.   Appreciate your help

I bought Mountain lion and installed it on my iMac, now I would like to upgrade my mba which is currently running lion. Halfway through the download process it gives me a small error message next to the download status bar in the app store.

  • Can't get Mountain Lion to install

    Hi
I bought an iPhone 5 a month ago, then found out I needed to upgrade my OS on my 4 year Macbook Pro. I received Snow leopard yesterday and managed to install it without issue. I then found out SL doesn't support iTunes &, which is apparently what you need to sync iPhone 5. All rather annoying. So I then bought and downloaded Mountain Lion and have been trying to install it for the last 24 hours.
Once I run the installer it eventually says (after restarting) that it cannot install because it can't create a recovery folder. There is plenty of room on the main HD.
I've looked at various posts but none explain (clearly enough for a non-techy like me) what to do.
    Can anyone help please?
    Thanks.

Dont know where you get your info from but:
Apple ID (required for some features)
    Internet access5
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 10.7 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
    More:

SL does support iTunes so no sense being annoyed.
