Can I get podcast producer going on my Macbook?

I make tutorial videos for classes I teach.  Podcast producer looks like a good option for me. I gather I need podcast capture too.  Is it worth it for me to buy OS X Lion and the Lion server just for that purpose?  Otherwise, I'm looking at buying something like Camtasia so that I can record my screen and voice.

Podcast Producer is, as you say, part of OSX Server and is outside my experience (though I would have thought that what you suggest was going a complicated route to achieve your ends). The best place to ask would be in the OSX Lion Server Forum.

Call the store & ask the sales staff to send you one if you are no longer in Poland.  If you are still there, what is stopping you from visiting the store?

Maybe because it's not a 'genuine' retail version? Many OEM versions just don't work - and I've no idea which flavor of Win7 your friend downloaded. Obviously one that Boot Camp doesn't recognize. Best to just pony up the cash for a full retail version, of some flavor - and use it. You COULD, of course, download the 14-day trial version of Parallels Desktop and see if you can install Win7 as a virtual machine... it might or might not work. Boot Camp just isn't finding the resources it needs on the copy you have - try Parallels and if that doesn't work just purchase a retail (or student discounted) version.

Try deleting the printer, deleting the job queue and reinstalling the printer again.

  • Can't get podcasts to download

I'm having a horrible time getting podcasts to download (from ESPN and NPR publishers). They'll get about 1/4 of the way through and then just stop. I did a speed test and can download at 35 mbs/sec. itunes diagnostics said I passed all network connectivity tests (details below). This is driving me nuts. Please help.

Podcasts don't come from the itunes store - they come from the podcast producer's website.
You might try downloading them directly from the ESPN or NPR websites. That's all I can think of. My NPR podcasts seem fine, for whatever that's worth.

  • Can't get OneStep iDVD going

I am trying to quickly make DVD's from tapes on my Sony DCR-TRV520 NTSC camcorder. Time is short so OneStep iDVD sounded ideal altho basic. I can't get it going on my PowerBook G4 or my wife's iMac G5, both running 10.4.3 Most of the time the camera isn't seen but occasionally the program starts up then says something like "no video was transferred" and then aborts. This sounded so beautifully simple for someone not attempting sophisticated mulimedia presentations, but it ain't working for me. Any ideas would be appreciated. (I have tried both -RW and +RW type DVD's).

Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure about the 16 bit audio part. I ended up creating the movie first, as you suggested, and it really came out well since that caused me to go ahead and add chapters etc. I was initially looking for a quick and dirty way to get the tape on DVD but it's much better with the fat edited out. It's still irritating that a new feature (Direct to DVD) that Apple makes such a big deal about doesn't work. Maybe it's because I'm using a 14 yr old Camcorder but it is on the list of supported ones. I did call Apple support but I don't think the guy know what I was talking about (it was on a Saturday). Thanks again.

  • My nano completely emptied and I no longer have a podcast section, How can I get podcasts back?

This morning I was trying to sync my iPod and add new podcasts for my commute to work later. After plugging in my iPod my computer let me know that I had damaged files and gave me an option to scan them. I did scan, now my iPod is empty, which by itself is upseting not, I see that I am back to the 1.0.4 software and no long am able to support podcasts at all. Does any one know how I can get podcasts again?

Double check to make sure podcasts are configured to sync to your device from under the iPod's Podcast configuration tab.
To access the Podcasts tab for your iPod, plug your iPod in and click on it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes.  This will bring you to the Summary tab. Along the top you should see a Podcasts tab, so go ahead and click on it.  Here you can configure how and what podcasts sync to your iPod.
If you do make any changes to do this tab, make sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to apply the update changes to your device.
Otherwise, are you getting any error messages when you sync your iPod Classic with iTunes?

  • My Personal Hotspot is not coming on, and I can't get it to connect to my MacBook or iPad.  Do I need to reset my account in each?

I cannot get my Verizon Personal Hotspot on my iPhone 4 to connect via wireless.  I can do so by plugging it into my laptop, but it won't transmit to my iPad (or my laptop w/out the USB connection).  When I checked my "Network" settings on my MacBook, it had an old number from a Verizon JetPack.  How can I get my phone number as my contact (I also need a new password, which I assume has to come from Verizon, since there's no place in the Network settings to create a new one).  Thanks.

Call verizon. They are the one who can help you best.

  • Can I get my personal files off of macbook pro not booting?!

So my MacBook Pro June 2012 has pretty much died in a sense. I was using it today and kept getting error messages and my apps kept quitting for no reason. So naturally I restarted my computer...well now it won't start up. I get to the Apple logo and a bar comes up underneath it. The bar fills about an eighth of the way before it shuts down. I tried running disk utility to repair it but that didn't work. Then I tried running it in safe mode and that didn't work. I also have come to the attention that Disk Warrior doesn't work on this particular model of MacBook. Now when I go to disk utility I can clearly see that there is space taken up on the hard drive and I can get to the directories with all my personal files, but I cannot access them. My question here is how can I get these files onto an external hard drive before I have to wipe the thing clean. These files are very important to me so I need to exhaust every option before abandoning ship. They have to still be there if I can see them right?

    damage data? NO
    just
A: dont squeeze top to bottom the HD....
B: try not to touch the green circuit board on the HD
C; dont shake or drop (eeek) the HD.
    Very easy to do.
Get a GOOD HD enclosure, junky ones are more common than snowflakes in January

  • How can I get Windows Internet explorer on my MacBook air?

I have several websites that I need to use for my new job that have not been tested for Mac. I don't want to have to buy a PC laptop, so I was wondering if there is a tried and true way to get windows Internet explorer on my MacBook air.

Or install Parallels 7 and then you can run IE just like any other app from within OS X itself. That costs around $50 plus the Windows license though.
Personally I have created an IE9 RDP (remote) App on my terminal server at work and just run that. Looks like it is running on my Mac natively.

  • How can I get the tech specs of my MacBook Pro?

Hi - I want to sell my MacBook Pro (to buy a new one). I am one of those people who loves Apple because I do not have to worry about techy things as I had to when I was a PC guy. The problem is that, as a result, now that I want to sell my MacBook, I cannot remember its tech configuration and do not know how to get it!!
I am sure this question is most silly for most of you. Could someone please let me know how I can get the tech specs of my MacBook? In particular, I was thinking of:
    - OS X version
    - Processor
    - L2 cache
    - System Bus
    - Memory (RAm)
    - Hard Drive
    - Optical Drive
    - Graphics card
    - Graphics memory
    - Video capability
    - Display resolution
    - Expantion slots, etc
    - Ethernet card
    - Wireless card
    Thanks a lot!!

For the published specs, click on the Support tab at the top of the page, select the "Tech Specs" link, and search for your model of MacBook Pro. For specifics about your system, run System Profiler, which will be in Applications -> Utilities folder on your MBP.

For a new hard drive try Newegg.com

To transfer your current hard drive I like the applications Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper. They make a bootable copy of everything on your hard drive. http://www.bombich.com/index.html or http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html
You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.
Here's a cheap SATA external hard drive case on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Vantec-NexStar-2-5-Inch-External-Enclosure/dp/B002JQNXZC/r ef=pd_cp_pc_0
If you don’t have the tools to open up the MacBook OWC has a set for $5
