Can i get some money back??
i just brought my macbook this week from john lewis who are an authorised apple selle, however i didn't realise apple do student discounts, would it be possible for me to get some money back off the purchase of my new macbook. I originally paid £829 for the white 216.Ghz core 2 duo model. many thanks.

yeah, you're probably right.
Although, a friend of mine who is an Apple head, says
he's never had Applecare or extended warrantys. He
buys it on a credit card that gives him an additional
2 years warranty. Not sure which CC that is but there
are some that offer that as standard.
Wish i'd thought of that.
I suppose you've just got to weigh up what's a better
option Student discount (not even 10% i don't think)
or your extra year warranty.

fragglerock, your right some Credit Cards do offer extended warranties on electronics. Another good tip is to talk to you home insurance company which will usually insure laptops for very cheap amounts. I have heard of people insuring computers for as low as $15 a year through their home insurance company.

You've tried deleting and re-downloading the app, and tried contacting the developer (there should be a contact link on the app's description page in the store) ? If you don't get a reply then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and use the 'Report a Problem' link (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page. -

Once you log in to that account change the email address to anything, it can even be fake its just a placeholder
After you do that you will be free to change your old email address on your appleID to the new one that is now free to be used as it is no longer attached to the other account. -
I bought a 5 dollar app that didn't do what I understood it would do. Can I get my money back or even a credit? The app I bought I wanted it to zip a file video so I could get the video off my iPhone cause it took up all my hard drive space and it wouldn't zip a file from my phone like I understood it did. My 3 year old and I downloaded, 'mini pets'. app. Whilst playing he managed to purchase a 'vault of gems' for a staggering £70!!!!

Apple allows apps to list themselves as "Free" if the initial download is free, even if the app has kid-oriented inducements for costly in-app purchases. The in-app purchases are almost always ridiculous, over-priced game accessories, of which your example of "vault of gems for £70" is right up there. It is way too caveat emptor for my taste, but each consumer can form their own opinion on that.
To Apple's credit, they have a good record of granting refunds providing you explain the extenuating circumstances (purchase by a minor) and only ask once. Contact iTunes Customer Service.
And immediately, you need to place restrictions on the devices. The restrictions are off by default (caveat emptor!), so you need to take action to place them. See this document: iOS: Understanding Restrictions -

if you purchase a itunes gift card you will not be able get your money back. unless if it has never been used, such as enetering the bar code then you can probably take it in to the original store where you bought it from with the receipt.

Apple sometimes gives a one-time per account refund. If this is the app which you wish to use your possible one refund with use the Report a Problem link in the emailed receipt that you receive on the purchase in 24 to 48 hours to ask for the refund.
