Can I get the old iTunes back?

I have an iPhone 4S and I recently installed iOS7, I went to plug my phone into my MacBook (running Mac OS X Version 10.5.8) because I wanted to put some music on my phone, but I couldn't do this as I needed iTunes 11, which in the past this hasn't been a problem and hasn't come up. In order for me to download iTunes 11 I need a newer Mac software which I don't have the money to buy as I am only 16. This is really annoying because I can't back up my phone, transfer music that I haven't purchased off iTunes or do anything. Is there any was I can stay with the old iTunes? Someone please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Correct. To sync with an iPhone you need to have an Intel Mac running a minimum of Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and the latest version of iTunes.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
and in the UK:
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether further updates are required.

If this is a question about syncing with iTunes, you might want to post it over in the iTunes forum.

  • How can I get the old Firefox back, this new one stinks

how can I get the old Firefox back, this new one stinks

Firefox is highly customizable and you may be able to customize it to meet your needs.
If you do not like the new UI, you can make Firefox 4 look and behave more like Firefox 3.6, for details see http://www.computertechtips.net/64/make-firefox-4-look-like-ff-3-6
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • I downloaded firefox 5 but lost my tool bars, how can i get the old version back?

I downloaded firefox 5 but lost my tool bars, how can i get the old version back? It said my tool bars are not compatible. I want them back.

That is the new appearance Firefox 4 and now Firefox 5, you can easily put things back because Firefox is customizable.
You can make Firefox 4.0.1 and '''Firefox 5.0''' look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)]

  • I hate this new version of iTunes.  How can I get the old version back?

Anybody have any ideas how I can get the old iTunes version back?  This new one is almost impossible to use, at least the way I use it.

In the old version, when I logged in to the store, it automatically updated the podcasts to which I was subscribed.  The new format carries no dates and very little identification so that I know what I don't yet have when I go to a new podcast.  The music I searched for was sorely lacking; I know they have more Brubeck than what I found because I have done a similar search in the past and there were many more choices.  It's just a mess trying to find what I want.  I'm afraid to plug in the iPod for fear of this new program screwing up what I have.  I don't want to have to reload all my music and reorganize it.  It's good to know I'm not alone in my dissatisfaction.  And Apple makes it very difficult to give them direct feedback.  Most sites at least have a "Contact Us" option.  I've gotten a ton of email since I posted this afternoon.  Hope that wasn't a mistake.

  • Ever since updating to 6.0, my internet crashes, my app store crashes, EVERYTHING crashes.  It's very annoying to say the least.  How can I get the old version back????

I'm getting really annoyed that my iPod keeps crashing thanks to 6.0.  When is this going to get fixed or how can I get the previous version back??

I had a iPod 4G and it suffered crashes after upgrading to iOS6, especially in the App Store and iTunes store. Safari often crashed as well, but it occurred same as before I upgraded.
My iPod barely had any apps on it, having only 3GB used of 6.5GB available space (I had 8GB version).
I got the new iPod Touch 5th generation a few days ago and it works perfectly. Never had a single crash running any app, game, or store.
This has led me to believe that iOS6 was primiarily for the new line of devices and not really optimized for the previous generation. Thus, I think that iOS6 may be the last highest supported OS for the iPod-4 and the iPhone-4 and 4S and future operating systems will not be compatible with the previous generation.

  • How do I "locate" my CD in itunes?  Can I get the old itunes menu back?

I burned a CD using itunes.  But it automatically used Windows Media to play back and changed the sequece to alphatical order.
I changed the setting to have itunes as the "preferred" player but still won't work.  The CD doesn't even show up on the itunes menu.  Can't find it under file or the "music" button.  Tried clicking each and every button.  Still cannot find it!
Also, I used to just click and drag songs from a CD to my playlists.  With the new menu, it won't show both the CD song list and my playlists at the same time so I can't click and drag anymore.  I have been importing all the songs and then search for them one by one and copy each to the playlists.  VERY annoying. Any suggestion as to how to do this?  Can I have my old itunes menu back please?

  • How can I get the old version back, because this new is so poor, it doesn't work. My curcor doesn't appeart and can use secont tab.

If I have one tab open and I try to open other, cursor doen't appeart. And If I open youtube I can't write for the search box.
So I want the old version back, how can I get it.

First you'll need to download the old version from here.
    http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Once you have chosen your language and operating system type then download it from the list on that page.
Next you will have to uninstall the current version of Firefox by using the add/remove programs option under control panel. After the current Firefox has been removed you can then run the installer for the old version. Using this method will not save your bookmarks or any addon's/extensions so make sure you have a list of the addon's you want to get back and you can also backup your bookmarks from within your current version of Firefox prior to removing it.
Do note that some extensions that you may have installed were installed by 3rd party programs and they will not be reinstalled until the program that installed them has been either updated or reinstalled as well.

  • Can i get the old version back cause the new one sucks

how do i get my old version back this new one sucks bad it keeps saying not responding and locks up i never had this problem till i upgraded

I'm not having any problems so far, so it might be a problem with your computer, or perhaps something went wrong when you installed the update. Or there could be a conflict with your extensions, or you might just have too many extensions. There are several possibilities.
Anyway, rolling back to a previous version is not recommended, and I've read that the only stable version other than 5 is 3.6.18. However, you can find all versions at ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/. If you want to install an older version, another user named jscher2000 said:
"First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Backing up your information. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. ...
    Close Firefox 5.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program."
He was referring specifically to 3.6, but his advice should work for any version, I think. Including FF4. But again, rolling back isn't recommended.

  • New home screen image... Can I get the old one back?

I updated to iOS 4 today, as most others have done, and I noticed there was something different about it that I didn't like. After a few seconds I realized the wallpaper was changed! Instead of the silver dock bar at the bottom, the most used apps are sitting on a little piece of glass or something...?? ***? I mean it's not a HUGE deal, but having something I'm going to have to constantly look at without even letting me know, and having me be unable to change it... that's just rude! If there was a way I could get the old home screen image back I'd REALLY appreciate it.

    hmm...

  • Why did the playlist time format change in iTunes 10.6? Can I get the old format back?

My iTunes playlists used to give a precise total play time. Now that I downloaded the new version of iTunes, the playlist just estimates the time. So, "1 hour" could mean 1 hour and 2 or 3 or 4 minutes. That is a big problem for people who teach 60-minute fitness classes! I plan my class around that playlist, and 3 or 4 minutes is a big deal. Now I am having to add up the time of songs by hand. What a pain!  Is there any way to get back the old format of time, which estimated exactly "59 minutes" or I think it was more precise, like "00:59:12."  I need this format back.  The estimate of "1.1 hours" is killing me.

Hello. When I go to "About iTunes," it says "10" but then "10.6 (40)" underneath, in fine print.
Actually, "40.3" minutes is different from the previous format.  It used to give the time in hh:mm:ss. This is an image of my problem:
Now that the time is given in decimals, there are some minutes unaccounted for. I have a playlist that is 58 minutes (I added it on a calculator), but iTunes tells me it's 1 hour. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal but it matters when you have a 60 minute class and you are guided by your playlist.

  • How can I get my old iTunes back?

I recently updated to iTunes 12 only to find that all of the time I had spent getting it organized like I wanted was overwritten. Now I can't find things. How do I get iTunes back to how I had it organized before?

Thanks.  That’s what I was looking for.
My frustration is that I organize things to make stuff work for my needs and speed, I plan work and have appointments, I upgrade and suddenly its like I have a new secretary who organized my desk and files in a way she thought makes sense.
Thanks for the tip on avoiding future upgrades. Makes a lot of sense. At the very least I will have to remember to only do it when I have a lot of time to play around with my computer.
    Thanks again.

  • The new version claims to be faster? I beg to differ wslow as syrup and crashes something the previous version never ever did, can I get the old version back ?

Every time since DL'ing the latest version it has been god awful slow. Crashes and requires I restart my computer before I can use the internet. I did send the error reports through your system. MS claims it is not compatible with netframes and other apps. So I am wondering has Mozilla just become another unreliable product like some others that will remain nameless? Or are these problems going to be addressed as I am sure I can go back to Internet Explorer after some major updating.

I've been working on this all day!!! I've tried everything I know of and can't get it to load either. Sounds like lots of people are having problems. Here is what I have so far...I have uninstalled EVERYTHING on my pc from apple and reinstalled itunes to no avail. I have tried all sorts of things I've read as fixes online. NOTHING has worked. Here is something interesting that i have noticed though. my main pc (which is the one i have always managed my itunes account with for years) is a 32 bit system running windows 7. Yesterday I installed itunes for the first time on my new netbook which is a 64 bit (windows 7) system and it works just fine. i have three other laptops (all window 7) in my household that are all 64 bit operating systems and ALL have updated to 10.5 and THEY ALL work fine. this is FOUR 64 bit systems ALL updated w/10.5 that work and ONE that is a 32 bit that will not. Can't get any help from apple. their suppot *****! I want to get someone on the **** phone or a live chat but cant. *** APPLE????? please let mw know if you find SOMETHING i can try next. I'm out of ideas and patience!

  • My NEW Iphone 4 'restored' to my 3rd generation Ipod touch. How can I get the old settings back?

Please Help! I just got an IPhone 4 today from work and I wanted to 'sync' my IPod touch apps to the Iphone and it 'restored' to my OLD 3G Ipod Touch settings! How can I get it back to what it was when I received it from work? My work email account is completely GONE and it was already all set up when I recieved the phone. I am extremely worried that I won't be able to go back to what it was! PLease please tell me I can restore it back to how it was....with my email account all set up and everything. I would appreciate any help I can get...I just can't believe I did this!!! THANK YOU!

Unless the device was backed up prior to restoring the backup from the iPod Touch, there is nothing to restore.
Just set up the email account again... it's not difficult, but you may need information from your corporate IT dept to set it up.
