Can I get turn by turn directions said out loud?

Iuse my iphone in the car to play music and I like the maps app. I was lost recently and tried to use my phone for directions. I pulled over and put the place in, and started driving. The phoner would not say the directions out loud. Driving and looking down at directions was too dangerous and seemed counterproductive. Is there a way to make the directions app say turn by turn directions or is there another app for that?

You would need to purchase one of the several navigation programs available in the App Store. They basically turn your iPhone into a sat-nav device.
I personally use MotionX GPS Drive, and I am very happy with its performance.

I am developing one mail sending application. I am getting mailid , from address, mail body from one Swing. In one JTextArea i am typing i have typed some matter. When i call the content of JTextArea using

i have one input table and two output tables (name it as output1, output2). Selected rows from input table are displayed in output1 table. The data in output1 table is temporary(means the dat wont store in database just for display purpose).
Actually what i want is how can i get all values from output1 table to output2 table with out selecting the data in output1 table?

i got a project for a dvd in dvd studio pro. There are subtitles which i created within dvd studio pro.
Now i want make a web version of the video with the subtitle, how can i get to this?

There is an app called "D-Subtitler for Mac" (as well as several others)
which should allow you to extract the subtitles from a copy of the
finished dvd and use them otherwise.
It's been awhile since I had to do it but it is a fairly common need
so the software exists.

Can not get e-mail messages to go out on my Palm Centro

I have a Palm Centro and have tried to set up my e-mail accounts. I can not get either e-mail options to send the e-mails out (I can get incoming messages however). I have entered the correct information required by my provider (I am with Mediacom). Any ideas on what the problem might be or what I can do to fix it? Thanks.

This happens with a lot of providers, who block remote access to their outgoing servers as a means of preventing spam.
Try using Sprint's outgoing mail server. Go to the Palm Knowledgebase and enter 39211 in the Solution ID box for the server information.

How do I get my Adobe Digital book read out loud.

I am disabled and need to use text to speech. I purchased an ebook which is an Adobe Digital Edition. I have really enjoyed using Adobe Reader with the Read Out Loud feature and was shocked when I discovered I could not use this feature on the Digital Editions. If I knew Adobe cared so little about the disabled I would sought the book in a different format.
Does anyone out there have any ideas on how to be able to get this expensive book read for me?

I do not know quite what you mean by "paid for them to transfer all my data and programs over"... I'm hoping you are not implying that you simply copied (had copied) programs from your application folder to your new computer.

Can't get G5 to boot directly into Linux

Hi, I have an Xserve G5, and am trying to install Debian on it. The problem is, I can boot the system my entering Open Firmware and typing "boot hd:,yaboot", but I'd rather not do that. How do I get the system to boot directly, without having to enter Open Firmware?

Use Option, not Command. Once it is booted, select you startup drive in "Startup Disk" system preference.

Slider -- How can I get NSSlider/NSControl properies directly?

I’m creating an AppleScript Studio application and I'm looking for a way to get and set the value of a slider via AppleScript. All the examples I've found simply explain how to target a text field with Interface Builder -- that perfectly simple. No problem there. I want to access the slider’s value property directly ... and omit the overhead of an additional text field.
Looks like the control’s data cell holds this value, but I don’t know how to call it -- not surprisingly, I’m having a little trouble understanding all the NSControl properties.

The AppleScript Studio Terminology Reference is one good place to look for info and examples. And remember to pay attention when you look at the info for a particular interface element to also look at the "Inherits from:" entry right at the top of the info. For example, when you look at the info for a "slider" you'll see that it inherits from a "control" (and a "control" inherits from a "view")... so a "slider" has all the properties listed under the slider section, but also all the properties listed for a "control" and for a "view", etc... on up the inheritance tree.

Yes you can definitely identify objects by their AppleScript name. And in my experience it's almost always easier to identify objects by their AppleScript name rather than by their "title". Some items may not have a title and in some cases (such as buttons) you may even want to change the title at runtime based on what's going on in your program. As you might suspect the property you want is "name". The syntax is like this:

How can I get bookmarks to open directly underneath the folder in the sidebar to save width space?

Just reset Firefox(latest version) as it was running slowly, now much better but I had customized the bookmarks sidebar so that everything (folders, bookmarks) opened directly underneath each other rather than one step to the right. This saved space. This customisation has gone and I can't find how I did it as it was an answer somewhere at least a couple of years ago. Please help. Thanks

Why can I not turn the volume very loud when using headphones?

When I play music back the volume is not very loud, I have put the volume to the high setting but not very loud. Can any one help?-

1) Is it happening with particular song? - if yes then its an issue with song
2) is it with all songs( check head phones with other player or so it might be faulty)
3) Is there any volume limit (lock) set on your ipod
if head phones are fine and if it happens with all songs and if same songs play with good sound on computer you might need to restore your ipod and reupdate the songs may be an issue with ipod but if all songs play with similar kind of sound on computer your ipod should be ok as it might be the sound quality of those songs
