Can i get viruses from vuze for mac?

sorry i dont know really where to post this topic!
i'm currently using transmission..its decent but i hear from everyone that vuze is really fast for downloading.
i'm thinking of getting it for my mac but i really want to know - are there any chances i can get viruses!?

I read another discussion here where a user was looking for a recipe program and clicked on a link from Google. It automatically downloaded a .dmg file and prompted him for the admin password to install. All this too place within a few seconds. I guess long story short be careful what you browse and what you run nothing is ever 100% safe.

How can I get Photoshop Elements 7 for Mac? (Have a license key for Windows from before)

Hi,
I have an installation CD for Photoshop Elements that I used on my old PC. I was satisfied and content with that product and as I got a new computer I wanted to use the program there. Here's to my problem:
I don't have a disk drive on the new computer and can therefore not install the program from disk. Second problem is that when I go online to find the program to download instead I realize that there's no version 7 for Mac, only for Windows if I understand it correctly?
I don't feel that I want to buy a new version just to get it working on my computer and I'll use iPhoto if it doesn't work to install. It would however be really nice if I would be able to use it.

Where can I get old LV software for Mac?

I lost my disks for LV 7.1. While NI can look up my SN and the record of my purchase, they cannot supply me with replacement software. They said I can get it from anybody who has it and install it on my machine using my purchased serial number for authentication.
I was a little bummed that they cannot just supply me with the code, but, I am not a business person and most surely cannot appreciate the myriad reasons why it is a bad idea to provide code replacement service.
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of 7.1 for Mac OSX (10.4) free of charge?
Naturally, I have a virtually unlimited supply of Windows versions in my vicinity, but I don't know anybody using LV for Mac.
Can someone loan me a CD? I'll pay for shipping.

Thanks for the suggestion Simon. I just sent an email to [email protected] I didn't email before because I assumed that my phone contact at NI (the one that looked up my purchase and my serial number) was aware of the NI policies and would not send me away disappointed without making sure that she could not get 7.1 software for me. I'll let you know what the email contact says.

Can't get info from "about This Mac"

I want to purchase a replacement battery for my Powerbook g4 15". For this I need the model #, which normally I can obtain by clicking on "About this mac" from the apple logo at the top of the screen. But not today.Absolutely nothing happens when I click it besides that it's highlighted in blue. I can get "Software Update", "System Preferences", "Dock", "Recent Items." I can surf the internet with Safari.
What is going on?
Is there another way to access this information?

If no joy, log out and back in as a different user, creating one if need be.

Where can I get Premiere Elements 12 for MAC?

Need to move Premiere Elements12 and Photoshop Elements 12 from Windows (W7/64) to MAC (OS X 10.7). Can I use same Serial and where to download the install files?

Is your Mac computer strictly Mac or a Windows Mac combo?
If you purchased Premiere Elements 12 as an online download to your Windows 7 64 bit computer, you cannot use those files and that purchased serial number in a Mac computer operating system.
If you had purchased Premiere Elements 12 in box packaging from an authorized reseller, you would have received 2 installation discs, one for Windows and one for Mac. Then you would be in a good position now.
If you want Premiere Elements 12 Mac on your Mac computer, you are going to have to buy another license.
That is my take on your situation.

Can't send mail from outlook for mac

I have a desktop mac with OS X 10.8.3 operating system. I recently upgrade to Mountain Lion.
I use Outlook Office for mac 2011 to receive/send emails. For the last four days I haven't been able to send mail, only receive. Whenever I try to send an email I get the following error message
"Cannot send mail. The SMTP server does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Outlook. Try changing the SMTP authentication options in Account settings or contact your network administrator"
Why is this happening and what do I do to change the settings?

It's your password mate. Something to do MS Office & the way it handles passwords.
I had to change my password & exclude the _ (underscore) symbol which I used in my original password.
Funny part is that I could still log in with my previous password on all my iDevices (iPhone & iPad) however MS Office was the only program that was giving me the above error.
I think it may have something to do with the latest update they just released.

I use Microsoft Office for Windows at work, and often go to one of the groups at msnews.microsoft.com to ask questions and get help. I would like to be able to check from home to see if anyone has answered my questions, but I can't figure out how to access this from my Mac. Do I need special software for this? At work I use Outlook Express. What should I use from my Mac?

Many of those groups can also be accessed on the web with any web browser via http://groups.google.com/
There are several NNTP news readers like Newswatcher and MT Newswatcher on http://www.versiontracker.com/ and http://www.macupdate.com/ which tie into that newsgroup protocol if your internet service provider supports it.

Can't get Flashplayer to work for Mac

I am having an issue with my Flashplayer. I recently thought it was specific to Firefox but it appears to be all browsers. I used to just crash all the time, but now I can actually no longer watch many videos, though youtube still appears to work. I have seemingly tried everything. Uninstalled and reinstalled, activated plugins, made sure they're up to date, etc. I have tried every suggestion I've found anywhere on the web and nothing has worked. I am growing quite frustrated. I am using Mac OS X Lion 10.7.

I have no problem remembering where the album was saved...
apparently FW has problems finding it.
I think I have the problem solved - at least this one (I seem
to be having another one with saving to SPRY/HTML format).
I got the clue from another post. Apparently FW doesn't like
folder names with spaces and my site was buried pretty deep in the
directory structure. I copied the site to a location just under the
root of the drive and made sure there were no spaces in the folder
names so now it only has to look for DRV:/mywebsite/images and then
I export the gallery to DRV:/mywebsite/photo_gallery.
All the flash galleries seem to work fine but I'd like to
look at the SPRY/HTML gallery before I make a final decision which
to go with.
Al for FW defaulting to it's orignal program directory
everytime I go to look for an album I simply find it annoying...

I'm using a PPC Mac and so apparently AIR 2.0 isn't supported, but I can't seem to get the AIR 1.5 installer from Adobe's site.
Any help? Is it still available?
