Can I go back more than 4 backups on iCloud ?
Hi folks
I recently had to send my new iPhone 5 for reapiar and was then using my old iPhone 4 which my parents were using. I reset the 4 so I could get a backup of my 5 to use when the phone was getting repaired. Now I have my phone back it's working great but since I used the same account for both phones I cannot get the backup for my parents phone.
Now they have lost everything including photos and contacts! Is here anyway of going to older backups as the only ones on the reset are of the phone when it was getting fixed?

There are a couple changes in the iOs5 that I do not like.
1. After updating, I cannot get some of the icons to move from 1 page back to another. Some did move, but there are some that are real stubborn. Other magazine or newspaper icons will not move into newsstand. How do I get these to do so?
2. When in Safari, I do not like the tabbed search method of the new ios, but prefer the multiscreen view of the old 4.2 version where the open sites are shown as pictures on a black screen.
3. Safari crashes.

The down-arrow indicator on the Back/Forward button to list visited pages for a tab has been removed in Firefox 4. You can:
*right-click the Back/Forward button for the list
*HOLD down the left-click mouse button while on the Back/Forward button until the list appears

Upgraded from 6.3 to firefox 8. When I use the back button I can't go back more than one page. I use to be able to go back as many pages as I wanted. Use win xp sp3 fully updated,1 gb memory pentium 4.
Thanks for your reply to my question. I use Noia for my theme and like the way the back and forward buttons are arranged. I found the solution for my problem in about:config>browser.sessionhistory.max_entries was set to 2. I changed it to 50 and problem solved. Thanks for your help.

My apologies....I was working on questions from a different thread and thought yours was part of that one. Your question is fine where it is....
Now....that being said, I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question. I know you can exclude certain items from being backed up in Time Machine, which would save disk space on your external drive. But, you'd first have to calculate how much disk space you're using for the different things you want to back up vs. those you want to exclude.
I think it MIGHT be possible to do what you want, but (in my honest opinion) it's a recipe for a LOT of headaches should things not work out as you calculated. Better (again, in my opinion) to just pick up a larger external hard drive and transfer everything as Time Machine was designed.

Import the CDs to iTunes one at a time, following these instructions.
Once the tracks are in your iTunes library, put them into a playlist, and get them into the order you want. Or if you by "scramble" you mean a randomly shuffled order, use the crossing arrows at the lower left to do so.
When you are ready, insert a blank CD, use the command File > Burn Playlist to Disc, and create an audio CD. I strongly suggest using CD-Rs rather than CD-RWs, since the latter often have trouble in normal CD players. -

I have a lack of data storage space on my macbook hence I would like to know if Time Capsule is an external hard drive and not just a back up device.It is a backup device.. in fact it is a backup device for wireless clients in particular hence it is a wireless router with a hard disk inside.. if you use it for storage.. it has one or two big weaknesses..
It is slow.. cf a real NAS with raid.. a single slow green drive is plenty for backups.. less than adequate for storage.. fine over wireless of course.. lousy if you are trying to pass big files.. like your iphoto library back and forth.
But the biggie.. IMHO.. no backup.. the TC has no way to back itself up.. and TM cannot include the content of the TC in a backup to another location.. TM cannot backup any network drive.
So your files will be stored on one bottom of the market, cheapest possible drive available.. with no backup.. !!
Time Machine and data files may also not so happily co-exist.. the TC cannot be partitioned (well not internally).
You can create data images... but is this a good idea??

Can I use more than one backup drive to back up my Mini's internal hard drive and six external hard drives?
My latest backup failed because the backup is too large for the backup disk. My back up disk is now a 1.5 TB external drive.
Rather than buying a single very high capacity external hard drive to replace the 1.5 TB drive as my back up disk, I would prefer to add a second drive and be able to distribute the back ups between two back up drives.

John Fermendzinno, TM can only have one backup drive. you can RAID several drives in one volume or buy a bigger external or a RAID enclosure. another option is to use a different backup solution for part of your data. you can use a different backup drive with that. see this post by kappy for options

Can not color label more than one file at a time
Hi,
I've had this problem since 10.6.6-ish, i can not color label more than one file at a time in the Finder.
Wether i select two, twenty or twohundred only one file gets color labeled.
It doesn't seem to matter if i assign a color label through the File menu or right click > label.
Figured a re-install might fix this but it hasn't (even a clean install without restoring any kind of backup).
Does anyone else have this issue and/or a fix for it?

How do I use the back button to go back more than 1 step?
In previous versions of Firefox and common in other browsers is a small pull-down option on the back button that will allow the user to go back more than 1 step in browsing history.
Typically, the pulldown will show a chronological list of recent sites visited and the user could select one. Firefox 4 seems to have dropped that feature and you can only click it to go back 1 step at a time. I really miss that feature.
Is there a way to enable or add on the ability to go back more than one without having to go to history?You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.

You can right click on the back or forward button and jump to your required page.

OF COURSE NOT!!
So why do you think Oracle will now suddenly do it differently than all other languages? Never mind that it is impossible for a function (a unit/module of code) returning a memory address, to return multiple memory addresses. The machine code that does that, has not been yet been designed/implemented.
I am continually amazed that this question is asked. It is about something so fundamental in almost every single 3rd and 4th generation language... something that is taught right at the start... the definition of what a procedure and what a function is.
Sorry, but I simply cannot pull punches on this subject and smooth it over. There is something fundamentally wrong with your training as a programmer if you have to ask such a question about a function.
And whatever programming skills you build on such a foundation, will be seriously lacking.
I kindly suggest that you get back to the very basics of programming - and review and revisit until you fully understand it. There are no shortcuts in becomming a good programmer.

Switched from DSL to cable modem. My Airport light won't turn green. Keeps blinking orange. No wireless now and can't connect to more than one computer! ?????
Hmmmm.
If you reset the AirPort Extreme by holding in the reset button for 9-10 seconds and then releasing, the AirPort should be back in default settings which would allow mutliple computers to connect to the LAN ports on the AirPort.
Power off the cable modem for now and leave it off at least 15 minutes.
With the AirPort Extreme still powered on, hold in the rest button on the back for 9-10 seconds and release. Allow a full minute for the AirPort Extreme to restart to a slow, blinking abmer light.
Then, power off the AirPort Extreme.
Check to make sure that the Ethernet cable from the modem is connected to the WAN "O" port on the AirPort Extreme.
After the modem has been powered off for at least 15 minutes, power it up and let it run for 5 minutes by itself.
Now, power up the AirPort Exteme and let it run for 2-3 minutes
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Connect an Ethernet cable from your Mac to one of the LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Express
Click on the AirPort Exteme, then click Continue to follow the guided setup tp configure the AirPort Extreme. You can use the same wireless network name, password, etc that you used before, or set up a new name and password, etc. -

How can you set up more than one device on iTunes? I have an iPad, iPod, itouch and iPhone. I don't want the same on all devices. I have all my music/videos on iTunes on my mac book pro. Can you set up separate folders for each device and drop in what ever music/videos from the main iTunes library?
In itunes it is called syncing and you can choose exactly what content to sync to all devices and it can be different for all of them
