Can i have 2 apple products on 1 itunes account

I have an iPod nano on my laptop at current and i have just brought an iPad and i want all the music on my iPod to be synced onto my iPad, can i do that and how ?

There's a few different ways of managing multiple devices. If all the music on the nano is currently in your iTunes library, and you want it all on the iPad, just try syncing the iPad to iTunes as you would your nano.

    Hi sandexpress,
As Ocean20 indicates, you want to make sure that you have automatic syncing turned off. In iTunes Preferences under Devices, make sure you have "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" checked. Then connect each iPhone, and make sure that "Manually Manage Music and Videos" is checked on the Info page for each of them. Then go into each page for each device, and select what you want to sync to that particular device. (you would do this one device at a time - complete the steps for one of the phones, then connect the next one and do the same thing).
With this kind of setup, you can modify what will sync at any given time for a particular device once you have connected it to iTunes, but before you click on the Sync button at the bottom of the screen. If you want to change some sync options on a particular device, you would just go into the page you wanted to change (Music, Photos, Apps, etc.), make your changes, and then Sync.
If you do not have any changes, you can just hook up the phone and click on Sync.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

do i have to have an apple product to use itunes

iTunes apps will not work on your desktop computer. They will only work on iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches.
Check out: How to Use iTunes: 20 Steps (with Pictures) - wikiHow and How to Install iTunes on Windows - iPhone / iPod - About.com.
Perhaps you need to look for dedicate Windows applications for what you want.

  • HT4972 Can you have two iPhones to the one iTunes account? I am overseas and using the old iPhone 4 here, but also have a current iPhone 5.

I have two iPhones, a 5 which I currently use and an old 4 which I use as a second phone as I am overseas. I have connected both to iTunes. Does this cause any problems have two phones on the one iTune account, as far as updates, etc goes?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
It won't cause any problem. Moreover, you will be able to share the purchases between both phones and have the same information by using iCloud, so you don't lose anything

  • HT5649 Our family has a shared computer with itune software. We have multiple apple devices and multiple itunes accounts. Can we share the computer and iTunes software to back up each apple device separately?

How do multiple users with multiple devices share one computer with iTunes software to back up multiple devices and individual iTune libraries?

    Hi Goodguy147,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The easiest way to have multiple users with multiple devices share a single computer is to create a User Account on your Windows PC for each person.  Each person should also have a unique Apple ID.  That will keep each individual's iTunes Library separate from the others and each individual can associate and backup several devices to their iTunes library.

  • Can I have two iPhones on the same iTunes account under the new apple terms?

I have two iPhones (4 & 3GS). Is it possible to have them using the one iTunes account or do they have to have separate accounts? I had heard that there may be a change in the apple terms so that you cannot do this, but not sure if it's true?

You can have as many iPhone and other iDevices as you want associated with your iTunes account.

  • Two apple products using one itunes account

Hi, i have just bought an ipod touch for my son and want us to have the same itunes account but i dont want him to receive my messages or facetime calls, is there a way that the two can be separated?

    I recommend that you
Create a NEW account/ID for him using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure yospecify a birtdate that results inbeing 13 years old
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
    Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
    Settings>FaceTime
    Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want heim to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

  • Can I have two iPads on the same iTunes account?

You can have up to 10 Apple devices.
Use the same Apple ID in Settings > iTunes & App Stores to share purchases.
For all other services, use a different Apple ID eg. FaceTime, iMessage, iCloud, Game Center, etc.

  • Can I link multiple apple IDs to my itunes account?

The issue I have is that my son has an Ipod Touch 5th gen and wants to keep the music and apps that I have in my Itunes account ( right now the ipod is sync'd with my itunes account). I have set up restrictions for the Ipod that limits what he can do (access the web, download apps, etc). Of course he wants to be able to add apps, music etc to his ipod but I dont want to wont give him access to my itunes password.
The short of it is that I want to know if I can create an Itunes ID for him that links to my account so that he can have access to the family's apps and music but still enable him to add/delete apps and music from his device only.

No, sorry.  Purchases are permanently tied to the AppleID used when making the purchase - they cannot be transferred, merged or shared with any other AppleID.
You would have to login with your AppleID and password, download what he wants on the device, then logout.  He would also need your password for any updates.

  • Can I have two ipads use the same itunes account on 2 computers?

I just purchased a new iPad for my wife.  I currently have an iPad 2 with a ton of apps.  I;d like to be able to have her use the apps that I've already purchased, but still allow her the ability to sync the new iPad to her computer.  Can i do this?

Problem. You can't share apps or purchased content between two different iTunes accounts. The iPad(s) will be completely resynched (removing apps not associated with the current account) each time you synch, depending on how you synch. IMHO, not worth the effort.
