Can i have 2 macs with 2 different time capsules on a single network?

I have 2 iMacs and 2 Time Capsules.  I want to share the internet connection via 1 time capsule, but I want each computer to back up to its own time capsule.  How do I configure this?

That is no problem.. one TC is bridged and plugged into the other TC.
The TC that is the main one, and traffic is routed through.. make sure you have different names for both units..
eg TC1 and TC2
Make sure the disk partitions have different names as well.. not necessary but will make it easier.. TC1data and TC2data.
Just choose the TC2data in TM preferences in the Mac that will back up to it.
Just choose the TC1data in TM preferences in the other Mac.
As far as all the network setup is concerned I need more info to give you specifics..
How is the current TC setup? What is modem router? Is the TC bridge or router mode.
If you give me specific IP addresses as well then I can give you direct info.

Can I have two iPads with two different credit cards linked to one iTunes account?

It is still not possible to have two credit cards with your iTunes store account. I've just had a discussion with an Apple representative who suggested I give feedback to Apple about this. The more we are, Apple might listen to us in the end.
    This is the link
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
Please feel free to use or modify what I wrote there:
I’m surprised as are many other people who have the same issue (can see this in many forum threads) that Apple don’t give us the possibility to have at least 2 credit cards with one AppleID/account like most other vendors do (even much smaller than Apple). This certainly forces people to buy some stuff elsewhere that they otherwise would have purchased from Apple (for example books) or restrain from buying things they would have bought if they had a choice to use a second Credit Card.
Not having this option puts me in a precarious situation since it would not be OK to buy just anything with the Credit Card that is tied to my business (and in many cases like mine the business is only one person, the VAT No being the same as my social security No).
Sole traders need an option too.

I recently purchased a brand new Airport Time Capsule 2TB. I already am using the previous generation time capsule to back up all my computers data. May I ask how can I complement the usage with my new time capsule?

By default your new Time Capsule will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a network name of something like: Apple Network NNNNNN
Most likely your iMacs will be connected to the wireless network created by the Virgin Media router. However, both should see the Apple Network under the AirPort icon's drop-down menu as another wireless network that they can connect to. Is this not the case?

  • How do I use Back to My Mac with a new Time Capsule if I don't have a MobileMe account?

I just got a new time capsule and I'm trying to set it up so that I can remotely access the files when I'm at work/on the go etc. Now I have an iCloud account, but I don't have a MobileMe account. I do have an @me.com address because I enabled Mail thru the iCloud pref pane and I setup the @me.com email address but I'm still not able to use back to my mac.

  • Can i have multiple iTunes  accounts on the time Capsule

We are think about buying a time capsule for the family, we all have are own accounts. I want to make sure that they will work to back up to the time capsle with out anyproblems or anything being mixed up.

How many Macs do you have?  Unless things are explicitly excluded, Time Capsule backs up an entire Mac, regardless of how many OS X user accounts are defined on it.
I'm not sure why you mentioned iTunes accounts in the subject of your post.  Is there anything you're not mentioning?

  • Can I synch 2 computers with the same Time Capsule?

    Hi
I have a Time Capsule, a MacBook Pro and an iMac.
Right now, the MacBook is synched with the Time Capsule, but i was wondering if I could also sync the Time capsule with the iMac.
    tx

You can synch as many as you want (and as you have room for on the disk). I have 2 MacBooks, 2 Pros and an iMac synched to an older time capsule that I upgraded to a 2TB drive. You need to decide how each machine will access the time capsule (separate accounts vs disk password) and then open time machine on the new computer to link up to the time capsule.

  • We have two Mac's, just got time capsule, is there a way to delete doubles? such as pictures?

We have two Mac's, we have backed them up on time capsule, we have doubles, can we do any thime to stop it doing doubles?

Using Time Machine Preferences > Options on each of your Macs, you can "exclude" any files that you do not want to be backed up.
So, the file(s) that you select for exclusion for a given computer will not be backed up by Time Machine.
If you want to delete an existing backup of a file in your backups, open Time Machine from the dock and navigate to the file that you want to delete. Click it to highlight it, then click the gear shaped icon above the window. You can delete that specific backup, or delete all backups of that file.

  • Can more than one MAC use the same time capsule??

My husband and I both have 27" imacs.  Since he just had a hard drive failure, I'm worried about my machine, and we'd both like to start backing our computers up.  Can we both use the same hardware to do this?

Just make sure you have TC big enough to backup both macs! the final storage will be bigger than the disk space sum of your both macs as there will be incremental backups and snapshots in time going back!
Otherwise your TM app will scream bloody murder that you are runnign out of space  as mine does :-)

  • Can we connect a Mac and PC to Time Capsule and use it as common backup device for both machines ?

    .

Yes, but you use Time Machine on the Mac although there are alternatives, TM is great tool.
On the PC you need to use a suitable backup software. Many many available.. choose one.. anything but Microsoft's own backup which is a total pain.

  • Can i have multiple monitor with my mac mini ?

Can i have multiple monitor with my mac mini like i do with my PC ?  2 differents screens.. not mirror.

There's lots of Mac Mini models since 2006 or so. What do you have?
Most support two monitors but how you do it is different depending on model.
    Put this phrase into Google
            dual monitors, mac mini
and you'll come up with the solution needed based on which MM you have.

You can give this a try on your Ultimate machine.  While these are said to be for Vista, I used it on my Win 7 machine just fine and it fixed the problems I was having.  Hope it works for you.
The problem is that Vista, by default, will only use NTLMv2 for authentication, which is not supported by Mac OS X's Windows Sharing service.
The other problem is the Minimum Session Security for NTVLM SSP based Clients.
    To get around this:
    1.     In Vista, open the Control Panel
    2.     Switch to "Classic" view
    3.     Double-click Administration Tools
    4.     Double-click Local Security Policy
    5.     Or Secpol.msc
    6.     Expand "Local Policies" and select "Security Options"
    7.     Alternate : Type secpol.msc to get editor up then
    8.     Locate "Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication Level" in the list and double-click it.
    9.     Change the setting from "Send NTMLv2 response only" to "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session if negotiated"
    10.     Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP Based (including secure RPC) Clients
    11.     Change the setting from "require 128 bit" to unchecked (No Minimum)
    12.     Click OK
the real difference between vista and windows 7 procedure is 10 and 11

For example, I have a single .MAC account and create a website with multiple Podcast pages...or within iWeb I create multiple sites, and each has a podcast.
    Is there a problem?

Its not possible for the same development object. Only 1 person can access an object at a time and if mutiple users modify an object new TASKs are created under the same TRANSPORT.
Only after releasing the tr you can create a new tr on the same object.

Had pse 8 on a Windows 7 PC with a catalog backup on an external drive. Now have a Mac with OS Mavericks. If install pse 12 or Lightroom on the Mac will I be able to use the old catalog backup or must I start from scratch.

If you made a full catalog backup using the organizer's backup command, and you did it to a removable drive, yes, you can restore it to the mac. A backup made on discs will not work, though.
