Can I have an application load on startup in osx 10.7.5
I have a macbook pro running osx 10.7.5 On old systems I used to be able to put applications in a startup folder so that they would launch automatically on startup - or at least I think I did. I can't see a way of doing that now. Can anyone help. I'm using ClamXAV antivirus and want it to launch when I start my laptop but I can't see any way to make that happen.

The Sentry Icon appears in the menu bar. The ClamXav Sentry Overview shows what it looks like and the meaning of the animation. You can control certain aspects of Sentry by clicking on the menu Icon.
I did think that there were viruses for Mac now but obviously I got that wrong too.
Although OS X viruses seem to be a thing of the past, there has been significant other types of OS X malware and will undoubtedly be more in the future. Thomas has a good summary of all this in his Mac Malware Guide. Since you are running OS X 10.7, as long as it's fully up-to-date, you are completely protected against all currently known malware that could impact it. Should you be able and elect to upgrade to Mountain Lion, there is enhanced protection against future infections provided by the GateKeeper process.
Along these same lines, if you don't need Java, don't install it. If it's already installed, keep it up to date and disable Java (not JavaScript) in all your browsers and enable it only during the periods you need it to access features on a web site you must use.

Actually it isn't Alt-Tab on OS X, it's Command-Tab to use the Application Switcher.
Also, Control+ left/right arrow key will switch spaces if that's what's desired. -
Can't get Servlet to Load On Startup
I am trying to get a servlet to run at startup, and I have put the xml below in WEB-INF/web.xml to make this happen, but it is not working. The servlet does not run at startup.
Anybody have any idea what the problem is?

So, if anyone knows anything about how to solve this problem, that would also be helpful.

The put the exe in the startup folder in windows.

How can I get aperture to restart loading pictures from my camera? 2 weeks ago; my camera (nikon D60) and aperture worked well together. last saturtday Aperture would not upload some new photos taken that day. I recieved an error message stating the photo files were not uploaded. The apple store staff was no help at all this time( they usually are very good) should i delete/trash the app and start over?

Do the thumbnails from the camera appear? Are you able to check the images you would like to import? When you click the import button is when you receive the message that Aperture did not import the images?

Thank's for the respones. Found out that Aperture runs great on at least 2 gig of ram. Just installed 4 gig. All of my issues have vanished. Moving on the the next day. -

How can i have different applications windows side by side

For some reason whenever i'm using an application, lets say Chrome, only the windows of chrome would show on the screen. If I want to move to some other app like terminal, the windows of chrome would dissappear and only the windows of terminal would shop up, so basicially I can't multi task between different applications windows...
What's the deal?

using macbook pro late 2008, OSX Lion 10.7.3im surfing on chrome and have a word document open. Lets say i want to put the chrome windows next to the word window, I simply cant do that because it only shows me the windows of the app im on. Only chrome, only word etc.
Furthermore If Im on chrome and trying to move to some other open apps using mission control, it would only show me that chrome is open! -

With extended desktop, it appears that I can only have one application presenting at a time. Sort of defeats the purpose of having multiple displays.

I dont exactly how to start this is as a window service, but if your requirement is just to start your application when the machine boots,
then you can create a shortcut for ur webstart app, using the jnlp tag <shortcut>
then add this shortcut to your windows startup folder. -

Application Loader stuck on "authenticating with the iTunes store"
I am trying to submit my app through iTunes Connect. I have been stuck on "authenticating with the iTunes store" for more almost 20 mins. Is this normal? Is something wrong?
I have been following the Adobe Step-By-Step Guide to Publishing iPad Apps and everything went smoothly through to the DPS App Builder. I was able to download both the developer app .ipa and the distribution app .zip following the steps fine. But all steps thereafter are useless: iTunes Connect's interface has changed since the Adobe guide was made, and now I am completely lost.
I have downloaded Application Loader and I am attempting to submit this developer app .zip I have to iTunes Connect through Application Loader. But to no avail.

I have installed Adobe Creative Cloud for teams CC Packages which says that Acrobat XI Pro is installed. Your support page says it does not install Acrobat and I have to look in the Extensions folder for an MSI file. I have run a number of searches and cannot find the Acrobat extension folder please advise how can I get these applications to load onto my computer?
Also I now administer the teams and have accepted the invitation to I received to be a team member and download the apps. The admin page shows that I have been sent an invitation but does not show my account as "ACtive" unlike my other team members. I tried to use the link in the invite to accept it become active but the link displayed an error saying I had already accepted the invite... why is no account not active?
