Can I have google as an icon?
C3-01 again! is there any way ( if so how) that I can have Google as an icon in the menu ?
At moment only way I have to connect to the internet is pressing on Orange world icon but that just takes me to a page dominated by adverts for various orange friendly stuff which is of no interest to me! they do have a search box but it doesnt seem to give as good search results as google does on my computer.
Orange world icon? Are you on an Orange branded phone? Okay, here are a few things you can try.
1. On the web browser, make a Google bookmark. Then add that bookmark to the shortcuts bar on your phone's homescreen.
2. On your web browser again, try to look for the homepage settings. As I do not have an s40 phone I cannot give the exact location, but I think it would be in the options>settings menu of the web browser.

In Outlook my PDF attachments appear as whole documents and not just the PDF icon. How can I have attachments included as PDF icons and not the documents?
For your own viewing, you can of course control-click on the attachment and select "View as Icon".
For others' viewing, it depends upon their email reader. To ensure that attachments are not displayed expicitly you can put them all in a zip file (via control click and "Compress") then attaching them, or you can use third party stuff like Attachment Tamer.

On my mac when i click on pages, a new document doesn't open instantly but a window with my files open and then have to click on the left bottom < new document> in order to open one. How can i have directly a new document when i click on pages icon
How to open an existing Pages document?
Click Pages icon in the Dock to launch Pages.
When Pages is open, click File menu in the Pages menu bar.
Select “Open”.
When the select document dialog box opens up, highlight/select the document and click “Open”

HI, I don't understand - Seemingly I can't have an any type of PRIMARY Apple ID that has an apple ext. Instead I have to use a work email or even worse a google, android, MS email for my primary address to work - What is the point in directing customers to competitors? I already tried Apple direct but I didn't seem to get a conclusive answer to my question.
Also why can't you password protect the email app on the ipad or iphone? Its really frustrating that my email is availble for anyone to see once the screen password is bypassed. And yet my laptop (which I only use ironically) continually asks for my password once I have closed down.You cannot delete an Apple ID, you can only choose not to use it. Also, your @me.com address is associated with this ID and cannot be moved to another ID or be used to create a new ID.
All you could do is create a new ID using a different email address with your name in it. If you do you will have an associated @icloud.com email address. -
Can I use Google Sync to transfer only my contacts from my IPhone 4 to my gmail account? I do not want to sync info from Gmail to the IPhone. Can the sync work only one-way? I have 0 contacts & 0 calendar events on my gmail account. I opened the Gmail account specifically to for the Google Sync and wil only be using this account as a back-up for my IPhone contacts. Please Help!!
You do realize that the SIM only contains account information for your wireless account.
Moving the SIM from phone to phone does not cause any of your iTunes content, contacts, email, etc to magically appear on the device. -
How can I get my kindle app icon back on my home screen. After updating to iOS 8.0.2, my Kindle icon was gone. Now I have to keep going to the App Store to open Kindle, but I cannot get it on my home screen.

I try to get as many items as I can in the bookmarks menu toolbar (typically using 3 letter names). F4 adds an icon next to each name - taking up valuable space. How, please, can I get rid of the icons in the bookmarks toolbar so I have space for more bookmark names? Thank you.
If you remove the names then you may have a problem with organizing or searching for bookmarks.<br />
If you do not want to use the extension then you can achieve the same effect with code in userChrome.css<br />
That is what I would do.
Add code to userChrome.css below the @namespace line.

Why I can't open google maps on Safari? Everything have been working normally with my computer. But this problem with google maps I can't fix
Do you have an example? I develop Google maps for Web pages and haven't had problem with Safari and its extensions, only FF which I took out all the addons and plug-ins, but it wouldn't surprise if the Google map code doesn't display the map or information for the map or doesn't work with newer versions of Safari.

No - I think Safari is the only app that can have separate shortcuts (for different sites) on the homescreens. You can only access PDFs by first going into it's owning app.

Your Downloads folder should be in your Home folder. Just drag it to the Dock.
If you've managed to delete it, try creating a new folder called 'Downloads'. You will probably need to nominate it in Safari or any other browser preferences as your download destination. (Safari Preferences>General, 'Save downloaded items to:' menu) -

I have recently upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS 7 and I have lost 3 app icons. The apps still appear in settings, so I can't reinstall the app as they're already there. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling via an iTunes sync, but it hasn't helped. The 3 apps are bbc iplayer, itv player and sky go.
Can anyone help please?Have you checked to see if the Apps have been placed in an App folder?
Try swiping down from the middle of the screen so the search bar appears. Type the name of the App and if the App appears it is indeed on your phone.
You could also try restarting your device by holding the power and home button until the Apple logo appears.
