Can I have just ONE account in Contacts that syncs with my iPhone?

I quickly add a new contact when I'm at my computer right from a new email. I reply, "I'll call you when I get there" and I race out the door.
Ooops.
Mountain Lion put my new contact into the "ON MY MAC" account. It did not sync with my iPhone because it's not in my iCloud account.
Really?
Why would I not want that on my phone? Why does Apple make this so difficult?
Is there a way to totally get rid of the ON MY MAC contacts, and just have ONE account that syncs? Without me having to check and double check my contacts all the time?
I'm about ready to buy a paper and pen address book so I'll KNOW when it's working or not.
Sorry about the rant and the attitude, but it's really frustrating to lose a potential client to something this basic.
I also have a Dot Mac account that then became Mobile Me and now I'm not sure what it is, but I had to create an iCloud account (and a new iCloud email address) just to make my Notes sync up. So I don't know if all that is exacerbating the problem or not.
But ONE Contacts account that syncs reliably without me having to police it constantly would be nice.

Have you set the iCloud account as the default account yet? Sounds like you have not.
Contacts>Preferences>General. Choose the account you want new contacts to be in and select it.

I see what your problem is. You are physically connected the devices. It would be better if the information was in iCloud. Then they all would sync instantly.

After 2 years of trouble free use I can no longer access Facebook on my iPhone4 although I can access it on my laptop which is supposedly synced with my iPhone, anyone out there able to help please.

the clue is in the message title i.e. after two years successful and trouble free use I am suddenly unable to access Facebook on my iPhone 4 whereas I can still access it on my PC which I keep synced with my iPhone. Am I/have I done something stupid to make this happen ANY help would be appreciated.

Have you recently used any midi controller with Logic.. such as a hardware controller or even an iPad app.
If you used an iOS app, power down (Not just put to sleep) your iOS device and see what happens.. If that fixes it you are running an iOS controler in the background and so you will need to close it..

Failing that, quit Logic and trash the Control Surface pref file.... restart Logic and see if that cures it..
In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder from the menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.

HT203433 an audiobook that i just purchased from itunes won't sync with my iphone - everything else (all new music) downloads except the audiobook. help!

audiobooks are selected to sync with my iphone (so it's not that the audiobook is unchecked) and i've even put it in its own playlist (and all playlists are selected to sync with my iphone).

After upgrading to Mavericks my Gmail account is slow to sync with my iPhone

I'm able to read my GMail message on my iPhone way before I see them on my Mac running the Mail app. It takes a long time sometimes never, for the messages to show up. I updated to the latest version of Mavericks that was suppose to fix this but it didn't help. I'm using the IMAP settings for Gmail.

I tried deleting the gmail account from the Internet Accounts section in System Preferences and recreated it. That worked! The missing email showed up and I'm in sync with my iPhone again.

We have seven devices and they are on one account. But today we are have a problem with one and trying to buy an in app purchase it says that I need to repurchase this app on the same account it was downloaded I have not changed anything

You can have up to 10 devices and computers combined to be associated to your Apple ID. If you are seeing that, check your purchase history for that app and if it is associated with your Apple ID. You may just need to delete the app and download it again, or report the issue to iTunes.

How many users can you have on one account ?

I have just created a ID with Adobe Reader for a group to use files stored in cloud. I would like to know how many users can access the account at one time via, mobile devices, ipad, desktops ?

How many iphones can i have on one account?

My under 13 kids each got an iphone for Christmas. I want to add their iphones to my account to download apps and music. They won't have access to my account (ie., i will need to login for them to get an app or music). Is there a limit to the number of phones that can be on one account?
Is this the best way to set up for the kids? How have others done it?

that should take you through the steps of getting it set up to sync, as far as adding servers and such. When it's set up on the phone, she'll have the option to turn contacts on to merge them with the phone

If you already have an iCloud account, on the Mac, go to Contacts Menu Bar/Contacts/Preferences/Accounts/Select your iCloud account: Select "Enable this Account.
Tha same basic idea applies to the Contacts Preferences on the iPad and iPhone

Looking for app to store account numbers in that syncs with iphone and mac

Hi all, I have tons of random work information, account info, logins, etc., that I would like to keep on my mac and sync to my iphone. But I would like to have them protected in some fashion.
Anyone have any recommendations?

I recently purchased the mSecure app for the same purpose but cannot get it to sync with the desktop version via wifi as it is supposed to do. Support response from mSecure has been good but still no luck syncing. All of these types of apps require syncing via wi-fi but not much good if it doesn't work. I've tried all of the suggested work-arounds to no avail. Any suggestions would be welcome. I'm trying to sync to a Windows laptop. I'm reluctant to use the same type of apps that back up to an online storage site for security purposes.

How can I transfer just one "group" of contacts to my Prius handsfree/bluetooth?

Apple had to replace my iPhone 5S because of a hardware problem. I had created a list of about 100 contacts to be transferred to my 2010 Prius onboard contact list. I did that in late 2013 by deleting all my contacts, importing the one group, transfering that to the Prius- then adding back all my contacts.
Having spent 1 hour on the phone with tech support today, I was told that with the new IOS- that can no longer be done. I can't believe there is no work-around. I only need 100 of the contacts out of my 3000+ to go into the Prius contact list. Entering over 100 manually will take too long- so really want to just sync via bluetooth. HELP!!!!!

Contacts are added to just one account in Contacts app

Whatever contact I select in my Mail app to be added to Contacts (using Mail interface) they end up being in All Yahoo section though all of newly added ones belong to my Gmail. What would you recommend to do (1) to move already added to Gmail (2) to move selected contacts to the account they belong to in the future?
