My iPod touch keeps switching off and is out of guarantee.
If it is out of waranty, then of course you cannot get it replaced for free.

They can but they won't.

You can buy a new one. Apple may give you something to recycle your old one, but there are no trade-ins.

The charge doesn't last nearly as long as it used to. Can I get a battery replacement?As a rule Apple will not replace the battery after the first year as the battery is considered a consumable item.
Also you have over the rated cycle count so the battery is Used Up, Consumed.
Now it all depends on what G bar you take it to and what G person you talk to but don't get your hopes up that you will have it changed for free. More then likely it Will Not be changed for free.

Your iPhone and iPod can share the same iTunes account. Apps can be freely shared and used by one or both devices. You can't use money in your iTunes account to pay for your phone, but purchased apps can be used by both the iPod and iPhone.

I believe you're limited to syncing DRM'd items from 5 different accounts.

Frankly just about any headset with the proper size connection will likely work. We like ear buds with soft coverings so even when we get a hard headset with a player we swap them out. While Apple might just possibly give you a set for free since they are not an expensive item, loss is not covered by warranty. If you're a long drive from an Apple Store it might cost you more in fuel and vehicle wear and tear than going to a local store and buying a comfortable replacement.

You can, but switching iTunes libraries and store accounts is generally more hassle than it is worth. You can sync each device with selected purchases and if you disable the option to Automatically include new apps, apps purchased on one device won't automatically load onto the other.
