Can anyone tell me how to scan documents to the icloud, so they will be on the ipad?  My husband is planning on using his ipad for business.  I haven't been able to even find anywhere that I could read about scanning documents.

If you scanned the documents - what format did you save them in - pdf? If so, Pages will not open pdf files. you can save a file and export it as a pdf from Pages - but not the other way around.
If you need simply view the documents - you can send them to the iPad via email or DropBox and them open and save them in iBooks. or Adobe Reader. both apps are free. Adobe Reader can use file sharing in iTunes to transfer the files.
If you need to annotate the files - you will need an app like Goodreader - which can use file sharing from iTunes in order to transfer the files as well. GoodReader may work with iCloud now, but you will have to check that out in the App Store.
You can read this to see how to use file sharing. It really is pretty easy to use. You do need to do this with your computer.

  • Can I highlight items in the open sites listing

in the open sites listing on the left side, is there any way I can differentiate by highlighting items. Case in point, I have to search through the entire listing to locate my open gmail, if it was obvious, I could find it faster.
Also, if a webinar is playing, I cannot tell from the opened list of sites, which one it is, without clicking on each one, there must be a simpler way to locate these opened sites.

  • How can I make Acrobat stop shrinking scanned documents??

    Very fr
ustrated in the fact that every time I scan a document for various purposes, the end result has been shrunk
so that only certain areas of the document are seen in the .pdf file.  It seems to happen
especially with documents with alot of lines.  My goal is to scan a document, and have it look exactly like the document with no shrinkage.  Please help!

I have the same issue with my Xerox Documate 152.  I'm trying to create a fillable form from a scanned document, but I need the user to print only the fields onto an original form.
When I scan the document -- and I've tried it as a .pdf and as a .tiff -- it is significantly different from the original.  When you hold the two up together in light, you can see how the scanned one is completely misaligned.  Looks like nearly a half inch vertically and maybe about 1/16th of an inch horizontally.  That means that when I create the form from the scanned document, the fields do not print onto the original form in the right places.
This isn't an Acrobat issue given that the same problem occurs with a .tiff file, but does anyone have a solution?  The scanned document simply doesn't match the original.  I can't find an answer elsewhere online.
    Thanks!

  • HP Scan and Capture Can't change the location that scanned documents go to

I just upgraded to Windows 8.1.  I scanned a word document using HP Scan and Capture and the default location to save files is now "This PC".  I can see the folders under "This PC" and can save the document to one of the folders, but I can no longer browse to anything else.  If I click on This PC, I have the option to go to OneDrive, This PC or Network.
If I click on Network - I can type in \\mycomputer but it just let's me select a folder.  I'm trying to get to an external hard drive and I've tried typing \\external drive,  \\f, \\f:, \\f:\
Anyone have any suggestions? I've gone to the preference section of HP Scan and Capture and when I select that I want to change the default location where I save the files, it puts me back to the This PC area.

Hello mnmjackson, and welcome to the HP Forums.
I see you are running into issues with your scans save location.  I would like to try and assist.
I would recommend creating a new destination folder, and manually type out the full file path.

  • I can't add text to a scanned document-I'm using textedit

I scanned a receipt page with our logo, name & address & want to add text but when I attach the blank receipt to an email it won't let me add text to the interior of the document

When you scan a document it makes it like a photographic file, not really editable. You did not indicate what file format the file is in so your post makes very little sense. Perhaps if  you advised what file the receipt is in now someone can provide some advice. Right now, at best if you open the file in Preview you can use Tools - Annotate to do some very minor editing.

  • Hey, q about scanning documents to pdf.

    Hello all
I want to scan documents to pdf, everday we have about 400 documents shipping documents from our waerchouse and we want to archivizate them in pdf. We need a programm who can scan this documents to pdf and write them in seperate files, on the documents are barcodes, the barcodes could be used to seperate the document. PLZ help and sry for me English.

If you have a scanner, it should come with its own scanning software.  Alternatively you can download it from the manufacturer's website.
You can also use Adobe Acrobat to scan documents, which allows you to do text recognition (OCR).  However, I have found that the original scanning software allows you much more functions than Acrobat does.

  • How to scan documents with HP Officejet 5610 and iMac 21.5 ?

    Hello,
Please can someone tell me how to scan documents with a HP Officejet 5610 all-in-one printer and an iMac 21.5 , OS X Yosemite version 10.10.1 ?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
Scanning can be done on Yosemite as listed in the following document:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c04467713&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=e...
A such will allow scanning as a PDF file as example.
If by "Scanning a Document" you may refer to OCR scanning (e.g. scanning a text to a Word file which can be edited), a such is not supported by the provided solution and will require a 3rd party software which offer OCR capabilities. Vuescan re as example support a such:

  • Where are my scanned documents?

This is a question that will certainly show my computer 'expertise', but can someone tell me where my scanned documents are saved? I have a HP photosmart b109 printer/scanner I bought with an iMac and after scanning a dozen documents, I can't find them. I have searched and searched but cannot find where they are saved.

I'm sorry I can't give you an exact answer because it depends on what version of the scanning software you are using. Look in your Documents folder and see if you can find a folder called *Scanner Output*. Also look for a folder that includes HP or Hewlett.
Failing this, perform one additional scan. Then click on the Spotlight icon in the top right corner of your screen. In the text blank type *Date: Today* and press Return. Then click on the *Show All* option in the dropdown menu. This will show you all the files that have been created or modified today. Look for the newest document (or the one with the filename you expect) and click on it. In the bottom of the window you'll see its path. Now you know where your scans are.

  • How can I highlight text in a document scanned in pdf format?

How can I highlight text in a document scanned in a pdf format?

If it wasn't OCRed in Acrobat then you can only use the non-text commenting tools, like the Square or Polygon. Press Ctrl+E to open the Properties bad and you could make it look like a text highlight annotation.

  • How do I highlight my scanned document on my iPad?

I can't highlight my document but can strike text within.  The answer previously given doesn't help me solve the problem probably bc I don't understand how a different type of document would affect whether you can highlight or not.

Write the email; drag the scan file to the email body; click Send.
Or are you experiencing some specific problems?

  • Can't read scanned document

While I was trying to print a scanned doc., It asked for a program to use like Paint, Word Pad etc....   I chose Word Pad and everything I scan come out as hypertext gibberish.  How do I change that!

    Hi lill2u,
It is recommended that you scan the document using the MP Navigator and then edit and save the document using Notepad.  Once in Notepad you can copy and paste the document into your Word document.  To do this, please follow these steps:
     1.  Click Start, select All Programs, Canon Utilities, MP Navigator EX then click on MP Navigator EX to open that program.
     2.  Place your item to be scanned face down on the scanner.
     3.  Click the One Click button in the upper right hand corner.
     4.  In One Click mode, please click the OCR button.
     5.  When the OCR dialog box appears, make any necessary changes and then click the green SCAN button.
     6.  The document will be scanned.
Once scanning is complete, Notepad will open and you will be able to edit and save the text.

  • Finder got an error: Can't get item 1 of {document file "foo" ...}

I have a lot of files in Corel Painter 8's RIFF format. I want to write a script that opens a file and somehow forces Corel Painter 8 to save the file as a GIF. GUI scripting may be some help with the latter; now I am concentrating on finding RIFF files and opening them in Corel Painter 8.
I have a script that does a depth-first search of the folders starting at some root folder, using the Finder application to do the file-system stuff. It creates a list with
set docs to every document file of pages_folder whose file type = "RIFF"
as it loops through folders it adds to the list like this:
set more_documents to every document file of a_folder whose file type = "RIFF"
set docs to docs & more_documents
My naîve mental model is that docs is a list of document-file objects. Next I have a loop that attempts to strip out files for which a GIF file already exists (and is no older than the RIFF document). This works by deleting non-matching items like so:
    if not isgifneeded then
set docs to items 1 thru (i - 1) of docs & items (i + 1) thru (length of docs) of docs
    end if
Finally it tries to open one of the files in Corel Painter 8 using the Finder:
open item 1 of docs using "Corel Painter 8"
This does not work. I get an error message
Finder got an error: Can't get item 1 of {document file "bar" of folder "foo" of folder "blah" of folder "pdc" of folder "Users" of startup disk, ... }."
It lists all of the files. (The error message appears in a sheet that extends off the bottom of the screen!) They are identified in the message as document-file objects. The curly braces are, I believe, the AppleScript notation for a list. I expect to be able to obtain the first element of a list with ‘item 1 of xs’. My assumption is that the Finder’s open command would expect a document file object, or at least would be able to cope with being asked to open a document. What am I missing here?
    PowerBook 12" without mini-DVI   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Hi Damian and welcome to Apple Discussions!
    One suggestion: try
tell application "Finder" to open item 1 of docs
    (without 'using "Corel Painter 8"')
As far as the Finder is concerned, "Corel Painter 8" is just a string of characters. And telling the Finder to open a file is just the same as double-clicking it: the Finder knows which app to use - as long as these are native Corel Painter 8 docs.
    Hope this helps,
    H
