can I hook a wii console to an hp touchsmart 300?

Hi Carolb6455,
I understand you are looking to hook your WII up to your HP Touchsmart 300. Here is a document on connections and what they do. I would consider HP Display Port to VGA Adapter.

  • Wii/Nintendo Gaming --Can I hook up my Wii to utilize the iMac monitor?

Can I hook my Wii system up to utilize my iMac monitor?

The only iMac with built-in video input is the new 27-inch iMac, and that currently only works with DisplayPort input. All other iMacs only have video output, not input.
You can add video input through a USB interface device. Because a Wii is designed to work with a TV, you may be able to use a device that makes Macs act like a TV/DVR. This is one example
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/ElGato/10020630R/
I'm not familiar with the type of video output (and the connection type) for the Wii, so you'll have to look into it some more to see if such a device will work. The most popular devices of this type are made by Elgato and Miglia, and they offer several different types.
If it works, the device plus included software will display the video input in a window on the iMac. You can view it in that window, or expand it to full screen. I have an older device (standard def only) and I use it to watch video from a TiVo on my iMac's screen.

  • Attaching a Wii console to the 32DT2u Television

Can someone please tell me how to hook up a Wii console to the 32 DT2U television.  The Wii does not use a HDMI cable.  It has 3 RCA cables and a USB port.  I was told by a "gamer" that the USB port will not work.  Can't figure it out.  Please help!  Thanks.....

I had the same issue with bad image using composite video (red, white, yellow).  I bought an aftermarket component cable for $4 which I could not get to work at all, probably bad.
As Peter the Toshiba moderator had posted, using the composite cable, plug the audio connectors (red and white) into the jacks on the right side of panel, and the yellow into the upper most on left (green) jack.  THEN go into menu and select Video rather than colorstream. Contrary to the spec sheet from Toshiba, there is no separate composite connector on the 32DT2U, the component connectors seem to be switched by using the menu selection as described.
Below is little primer on component vs composite from Wikipedia, however keep in mind you will see very little improvement with the Wii using composite as it does not output an HD signal (which is why you need to select video), so be happy with the red, white, yellow cable.

  • Help connecting WII Console to Hub

Im trying to connect my WII console to my homehub via wireless and have followed the setup guide to the letter, ive also had the wii connected wirelesly before via my previous isp's router which was a sky setup...however after putting all the settings in and testing connection on the wii it will not then connect to the hub...any ideas please as we use the Wii for watching iplayer (well the missus does and my ears getting bent)
    thanks

Well my daughter has a Wii, and there was no problem at all connecting. Just scanned for the network, entered the wireless key, and it just worked.
She has one of the old version 1 home hubs, so maybe it is more reliable.
As far as I can see, the problem was solved at the bottom of this thread.

You just need to ensure that any previous setting are totally deleted.

  • Can I Hook an Apple TV to an older TV that does not have HDMI Ports using a connector cable

I have an older Sony HD TV and would like to hook my Apple TV to that TV but it does not have HDMI Ports.  Can I hook my Apple TV to this TV through a cable adapter that converts HDMI to Component Video and Audio (Red Green Blue Video Cables, Yellow White Audio) or HDMI to S-Video.  I have both these connections on my TV.  Thanks

Thanks, I actually meant a converter box I just wanted to make sure that using that would work.  With Amazon FireTV Sticks for example I  jhave been told that only a direct HDMI connection to the TV would allow the device to work at all.

  • External video projector - How can I hook up my Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter onto my new MacBookAir if the machine does not have a mini port (but only 2 USBs and 1 Thunderbolt)?

    Hi
How can I hook up my DVI Adapter onto my new MacBookAir if the machine does not have a mini port (but only 2 USBs and 1 Thunderbolt)?
Is there a DVI adaptor already for Thunderbolt?
    Thanks,
    JFR

The Mini Display port and Thunderbolt port use compatible connector bodies. Your current Mini Display to DVI or VGA adapter will still work as before on the newer Thunderbolt capable machines.

  • Can you hook two printers to the airport extreme

Can I hook up multiple printers to any of the airport devices?  the middle one has more than one port - one for printer and one for hard drive.  Can I put a printer in each port?

Hi - you can connect mutiple USB printers via a USB hub - you can also connect multiple printers to the ethernet ports on an Extreme or Time Capsule - you can do the same with an Express with an ethernet switch - you can also do it wirelessly

  • How can I hook up 3 screens to a Mac Pro 8 core 2010 model?

How can I hook up 3 screens to a Mac Pro 8 core. One is a 23' Apple Cinema Display, the second is a 20" Apple cinema display and the 3rd is a 32' Sony Bravia HDTV (connected to mini port with mini/HDMI connector) Do I need to buy another video card? I have heard  about 4 different scenarios about this, and they all sound a bit complicated. I thought that you could automatically connect 3 displays with the card that comes with the MacPro. It has a DVI port and 2 mini ports, so it appears that would be for 3 displays. But this is where it gets strange. Any thoughts?

Which video card?  5x70?  If you read about the various scenarios thern for 5x70's you need two active adapters for thee monitors (TV considered a monitor).  And you should have seen references to these apple docs:
Mac Pro (Mid 2010), Mac Pro (Early 2009): Issues with three displays and multiple DVI, HDMI connections
Mac Pro (Early 2009), Mac Pro (Mid 2010): Supported display configurations
It's not really complicated.  Search out the appropriate adapters and hook 'em up.   For the 23" and 20", if they are DVI, you need single link adapters.  For the TV, if you end up using the DVI port for it (because possibly you can't find the appropate adapter cmbination) then you need to handle the audio separately since DVI doesn't carry audio.

  • Can you hook up to ethernet

Can you hook up ethernet to express; have access to multiple computers, pick the one you want, drill down to that itunes library and play the associated songs and playlists?  Also, is there a way to play internet radio; lastly can you control this via an iphone?  if so how? is there an app that can allow users to access thier windows computer and see thier itunes library?

Yes it sounds correct. They can be Windows computers, they just have to be running fairly recent versions of iTunes and they all have to be on the same network. Wired or wireless makes no difference.
If you have an Express it can also join your network wirelessly or via Ethernet. They can be configured to connect to your network either way.
With the iPhone's Remote app you simply click the gear icon and click "add an iTunes library". You go to that computer and type in the code to authorize it. Sharing has to be enabled in iTunes Preferences also. Home Sharing uses your Apple ID so the other computers all have to use the same one.
Also, if you are using Windows you will almost certainly have to configure its firewall or anti-virus software. Such things are designed to hinder all sorts of communication and they're all different so you may be on your own trying to figure that out.
Apple has lots of instructions regarding Home Sharing, if you're not getting anywhere start with this:

  • Can you hook up multiple pairs of wireless headphones to the MDR-DS6500 base unit

Do I need an AirPort to attach to each set of speakers that I want to connect, or is there another kind of receiver I can hook up to the speakers that do not have any kind of WiFi or Bluetooth configuration?
You basically have two choices: 1) Place an AirPort Express base station at each of the speaker locations, or 2) Use an AirPlay-Ready receiver that offers whole-home audio support. The latter would require that all speakers be connected back to the receiver.
Also, if I am planning to set up the airplay by using the extended network configuration, then the Wifi base station does not need to be an AirPort station? I have Fios and had trouble last time I tried to hook up an AirPort in place of the router that they provided.
The AirPlay networking protocol requires either a wireless or wired connection between the AirPlay server (typically iTunes) and the AirPlay speaker (AirPort Express, Apple TV, or an AirPlay-Ready receiver or speaker). AirPlay will traverse over an extended Wi-Fi network regardless of which manufacturer hardware is used.

  • Can I hook up New Mac Mini to my old imac?

Can I hook up New Mac Mini to my old imac to share the display? I want to upgrade my iMac since I can not add more memories... but thought may be I can add New Mac Mini and use that along with my old iMac.. Will this work?

If your configuration supports Target Display mode, use that. If not, not without a standalone monitor and a product such as ScreenRecycler.

  • How can i hook my old ipod to my new lap top without loosing my music

how can I hook up my iPod touch to my new laptop without loosing my music files

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your iPod. Only if you back up your device manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
    Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your iPod for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the device for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0
