Can I hook up a laptop connect card to iPad?

okay, i want to make sure of this - if i get a Wifi iPad can I hook up a laptop connect card so i can have a connection no matter if i'm in a wifi hotspot or not? From what i understand there is no usb connections but i hear there may be a camera connect or some other piece of hardware i can attach to the ipad to allow for this? anyone? thanks.

Sorry, but it won't work. The camera connector kit doesn't provide enough power for a USB modem, and there is no way to install the required drivers at the OS level on an iPad.

Trying to connect to internet using laptop connect card

I have a MacBook Pro(MBP) and starting using an AT&T GT Ultra Express laptop card for internet connectivity. Operating System is OS X 10.5.4. I have connected in the past while on the road, but came home and connected to the internet via the ethernet port and now my laptop connect card won't work. The card lights up and flashes, but the application that I am using for it (Globetrotter Connect), states no card found. I clicked on the airport wifi icon and went to network preferences. The iBook does NOT have a PCMCIA/PCCard slot.
The only solution for the iBook is to get a mobile phone with bluetooth. Pair the iBook with the mobile phone and use the mobile phone to get to the Internet.

A smarter way is just to put all your code in the same VI.

A plug in keyboard? you don't.
A bluetooth one, turn on the bluetooth on the iPad in the settings. Put your keyboard in discoverable mode. The ipad should see it and give you a series of keys to press on the keyboard to confirm the pairing and you're good to go..

First, changing your DNS settings could not possibly have any effect on this problem.

You should be able to use the built-in GPS without needing to have a sim card installed (if you don't have network access then you will need to have mapping software which has the required maps built-in/downloaded to the app).

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Using iPhone as laptop connect

I'm thinking about getting an iPhone, but would like to be able to use its internet capabilities with my Mac. Can you use the iPhone as a kind of laptop connect card?

When I purchased my iphone, it was to replace my BlackJack. My main reason for the switch was bigger screen and better web access through Safari. The BlackJack had quite a few websites that it could not view.
Anyway, I have found several short comings with the iphone compared to most smartphones or Blackberry. Most of the short comings are in the email, calendar, to-do, and connectivity.
I would gladly pay the $60 price for the data, so I could carry one device and pay for only one device, but I don't see this happening in the near future.
I pay for unlimited data on both devices now, so I would be saving $60 a month. I see that as a plus.
When talking to Apple employees, they sure do mention 3rd party apps a lot. I wonder if Apple is going to rely on someone else coming up with the solution. There was a hack for the tether issue on the 1st gen iphone...

You can only add music to iTunes Match from your iTunes library on your computer, not from your iOS device. If you have music on your iPad that is not on your computer, you'll have to import it to your iTunes library on your computer to add it to iTunes Match.
