Can I identify IMEI of my stolen iPhone 5 with serial number? I've not using iTunes, only iCloud, and only I have is my serial number DNPK423DDTTR.

First, start your own thread instead of resurrecting a five month old one.
Second, you cannot track your iPhone via iMEI or Serial Number. Only if you had enabled Find My iPhone on your device before it was lost can you track it.

Your IMEI number is on the box the phone came in. Your carrier also has a record of your phone's IMEI number.

Stolen Iphone 4s Serial Number
So, I was robbed a few months back. They got my iphone4s...find my phone app not enabled...passcode lock off.
I jammed home, suspended my service, filed a police report, and a few days later bought a new iphone while I tried(fruitlessly) to track my old one with icloud. I was a bit confused because all of my devices show up from my Macbook on icloud. The stolen iphone remained offline. So I have since erased the stolen iphone (but NOT removed it from my account), changed my password etc. I'm wondering if the Police may be able to find it if it turns up. Does erasing the iphone from icloud erase the serial number too? Should I remove it from my account? Any tips are greatly appreciated...These things aren't cheap!Anna_uk wrote:

Contact your wireless carrier. They should have your IMEI number on file.
However, what will you do with the IMEI number once you have it? It will not help you track or recover your device. -

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Currently, the only method AFAIK to track a laptop is via the Anti Theft Technology. It's a lojack for laptops that's embedded on the motherboard. When this chip is activated with the help of Absolute CompuTrace then they should be able to track the unit. Otherwise, there's no technology yet to track the laptop via the serial number.
I recommend you have it reported to the local authorities so that you can claim the unit back once it's recovered.

Can I-Phone be tracked by serial number if the i-phone was reconnected.
Well, Apple does not connect an iPhone to a network, cellular service providers do that (it is their network afterall, not Apple's).
And yes, if restored as new, anyone can use an iPhone as they wish. If yours was stolen, you need to talk to the police about justice over it. -

As many of you, I got my iPod touch 4gen stolen during a trip, so it is difficult to know exactly where it happened. I did not have MobileMe etc activated, so only info I have is the serial number from original box as I bought it new.

It must be so easy to track it when it is connected to a wifi connection....There is no way to do this, all you can do is report the device stolen with the police and give them the serial number of the device.
Hopefully if they recover this then they will be able to contact them.
There is no way to activate find my device after it has been lost.
as you need to sign into the service on the device and agree to the terms. -

No. A phone cannot be tracked by serial number. Did you have Find my iPhone enabled? If you didn't disable it the phone will be useless to the buyer; Activation Lock will prevent its being activated.

No. The serial number does nothing at all to help you locate it.
IF you set up find my ipod on the ipod itself BEFORE it was stolen AND it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi AND the thief has not restored it, then you may be able to get an approximate street address from icloud.
Otherwise, there is no way to track it. -

There is no app to install.
If you failed to enable the "Find My iPhone" feature, then there is no way to track the device. -

- If you previously turned on the FIndMyiPod feature and location service is on, and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud, sign in, and go to FindMyiPhone. It the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- Report to police and change the passwords fro all accounts used on the iPod.

No, Apple does not get involved in tracking devices. The only way to track it is to have turned on Find My Phone on the iPhone, then locate it through your iCloud account. But to do that Find My has to have been setup, the iPhone has to be powered up and connected to the internet.
