Can I import a PDF file

Is it possible to import a form in PDF format to Pages so that I can complete the form an email it?

You can import the PDF & then use text boxes for your text. Then export as a PDF or e-mail the PDF directly from Pages.

You can link to a webpage or an email in Numbers-- that's it.
The best way I found to do this is to enable websharing on your machine (see this article if you are running 10.8: http://lowendmac.com/crews/12lc/web-sharing-mountain-lion.html)
You can then place your pdf files in the folder /Users/<your user name>/Sites/<somefolder>
Then link to this using the url  "<your machine name>.local/~<your user name>/<somefolder>/<pdf Name>
My machines name is "Proton" (you can get this from the System Preferences > Sharing pane)
    My user name is "wayne"
so I stored a pdf file (DM00027543.pdf) in the folder "/User/wayne/Sites/PDFTest"
and stored the URL "http://proton.local/~wayne/PDFTest/DM00027543.pdf" in the "URL" field of the Hyperlink inspector

  • How to import a pdf file used by JWS into JWS resource

    Hi All,
How can I import a pdf file as a JWS resource. That is, which option should I use to import the pdf file into JWS resource: "jar" or "nativelib"?
The pdf file ( which is the user guide of my application) is not used by my java src files but it just needs to be in the JWS resource so that it gets auto-updated and I can have a shortcut placed in the start menu for the user to access it.
    TIA & Regards,

I've got something similar in one of my apps.
    I'm using
        <related-content href="jar:http://host:port/APP/readme.jar!/readme.pdf">
          <title>readme</title>
          <icon href="http://host:port/APP/readme.gif"/>
        </related-content>
<nativelib href="http://host:port/APP/readme.jar"/>And works fine. Only problem I've found: it doesn't work if I use explicit versioning (+version+ attribute).
    Bye.
PS: actually, real href is jar:readme.jar!/readme.pdf; the one I posted is the one I'm reading in JWS viewer.

  • How do I import my edge animation in indesign so that it can play within a PDF file

how do I import my edge animation in indesign so that it can play within a PDF file??
    Plz help.

    Hi there,
Have you tried reading this tutorial on exporting Edge Animate files to be used in InDesign?
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/enhancing-your-dps-folios-with -edge-animations.edu.html
Edge Animate files can be played in DPS folios. PDFs are not capable of playing Edge Animate files at this time. I did find a work around to get SWF files to play in PDF documents:

  • Why can I not open PDF-files in InDesign CS4?

    Hi,
Well then, as I wrote in the headline... Why can I not open PDF-files?
I get a notification that says that either the file is already open (which it's not) or it is missing a plug-in thingy for this kind of file.
So, how do I know which plug-in thing I should chose from Adobe which will solve my problem?
Could it be enough just to update the program? I tried with 6.0.6. upgrade but it wouldn't even open up. I'm not so good at this type of computerproblems (choosing upgrades, plug-in etc.). The program is not upgraded for a long time, unless it do it automatically, but I think we've chosen it not to....
    Please help!

As already posted, this is how FrameMaker works. InDesign can import complete multi-page PDFs. If you're able to change production tools, InDesign may be an option. The suggested method of creating the PDF content that FrameMaker is able to create, and combining it with the existing PDF document in Acrobat.

  • Adobe InDesign CS2 -  Why does the resolution change when I import a PDF file to InDesgin

When I import a PDF file to InDesgin the resolution from the PDF changes.
    Any ideas?

InDesign uses a low resolution thumbnail (might be the wrong way to descirbe, but easiest to visualise) to represent images/files placed into indesign. As InDesign is a page layout program it enhances the speed of the application as it doesn't have to draw the images in full detail, but rather just represent them in their size and position in the layout.
There are 3 viewing settings, available through the View> Display Performance (for the whole document) or Object>Display performance (on an object by object basis).
The resolution of the image from that point on relies on whether it was Vector or Raster, or in PDF and EPS cases, vector and raster. As already mentioned Vectors and PDFs don't contain a resolution. Vectors are mathematical equations that require the device outputting the image to draw them to the best of their abiltiy.
PDFs are a wrapper for a file, it can wrap text, vectors and raster for output.
But all the same, InDesign uses lo-res thumbnails to represent the PDF/Image/Object until ready to output. But you need to adjust the Display Performance.

  • When importing a pdf file in itunes

When i want to import a pdf file in itunes .
The program stops and i get the message
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime error in itunes .exe

    Hi.
I just started having the same problem last night. I have itunes installed on a PC with windows 7. Been adding pdfs for over 2 years without a problem. I think the only changes i've made recently have been to download the podcasts app for iOS6, the new iBooks, and the fiend friends apps. I can individually add songs and ebooks, but when i try to add a pdf i get the MS Visual C++ runtime library error.
I have tried to "repair" both quicktime, itunes and itunes updater from start>panel to no avail, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, cleaning the registry in the process, and nothing has worked.
Oh, and i am in Spain, in case that helps. Has anyone found a more permanet solution than the dragging and dropping?
    Thanks

  • SFP - Import a PDF file

    Hi,
I need to import a PDF file with SFP transaction.
I do the steps like the manual, transaction SFP, choose Layout tab; Choose Tools -> Import.
But I can't see the options above Tools menu, and the same for Palettes and the other menus.
    nothing show.
Can you tell me the reason for that?
    Best regards,
    Ana

    Hi,
This is the solution for your problem. Do the import steps in the starting screen of SFP. Follow the steps below.
    1. Goto tcode SFP.
    2. Select from menu Utilities->Uploading form Object
    3. It will display a dialog box for the form to be uploaded.
    4. Before giving the name of the uploading form, see that uploading form is in XML format.
    5. Select the form name and click open.
    6. Form will be uploaded automatically, but we have to activate it.
I think there is no need to goto Layout option and then using Tools menu -> import for uploading. This option is used for uploading an image, I suppose.

How can I combine different pdf files in one?
created by Sara.Forsberg in Adobe PDF Pack - View the full discussion
    Hi Flávia,
Adobe PDF Pack is an online subscription--it definitely allows you to combine several files into one PDF file. For more information about PDF Pack, see Reliably Create PDFs, Convert PDFs, & Merge PDFs Online | Adobe PDF Pack. If you don't have the full version of Acrobat, this is a great solution for combining PDF files.
However, if you're using Acrobat (not Adobe Reader), you combine files by following these steps:
Open a PDF file that you want to add pages to.
Click the Pages pane on the Tools panel (on the right side of the application).
Click Insert From File, and choose the file that you want to combine with the PDF that you opened in step 1.
Make any changes necessary in the Insert Pages dialog box--these settings determine where the new file will be inserted.
    Click OK.
Please let me know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara

How can I prevent a PDF file from being copied, printed or downloaded? Students should only be able to view the text and and not distribute it in any way.

You can prevent it from being printed by applying a security policy to it
in Acrobat. The rest can't be prevented, unless you spend  a LOT of money
