Can I import my Google Calendar manually to icloud?

I was able to export my google calendar to a file.  unzipped it.  Now I find that ICloud does NOT show an Import feature on my Windows computer. Can I import this file to icloud manually somehow?
Thanks!

The only possible way I could imagine it might work ( can't guarantee it ) is as followed.
#1 Your Google Calendar is synced with your iphoen and you go into settings to turn it off.
#2 It will ask you: "What would you like to do with excisting local calendars on your iphone", you click keep them on iphone.
#3 Now you sync your empty icloud calendar with your iphone and hopefully the local calendar would sync on your icloud calendar?
Might work...not sure, play around with the settings in the iphone calendar app etc...

  • How can I import my Google calendar to iCloud calendar via web or ios?

I've decided I want to move from contacts/calendar in gmail to icloud. I was going to do the same with mail, but it seems iCloud doesn't have the level of functionality that gmail does.
My problem is that all instructions for importing my gmail calendar into icloud require some sort of desktop (I use PC) mail/calendar program. I don't use one. I manage my mail & calendars purely on my iphone or on the website(s). How can I import my .ics file into iCloud calendar via either the iCloud web interface or via my iPhone?

  • How can I move my Google calendar to iCloud calendar???

On the iPhone I sync the calendar and mail (without contacts) with google. I want to move the current Google calendar to iCloud and start syncing with it from now on.
I could export google calendar to an ical file but iCloud calendar doesn't have an import option. I don't have an Apple computer.
So, how can I back up all my google calendar entries into iCloud???
    Thanks!

So I solved this today.......I really wanted to switch everything over to iCloud calendar from Google Calendar (and had entries since 2008).....The easiest way to do this is using iCal on a Mac. The problem was I don't have a Mac. So I went down to my local Apple store (I guess you could use a friend's or work Mac as well). I asked them if I could use a Mac for a bit to get my iCloud calendar to work and was allowed to do so. Here's what I did....
I opened my google calendar on the store Mac's safari (or maybe it was firefox, I don't remember now)
I went into settings and found the export section. Then I exported all my calendars onto the desktop in a Zip file(I have 13 of them!)
Next I opened iCal on the Mac. I added 13 different calendar titles (I used the same titles from my Google calendar) under the add calendar setting (this would be so much easier if I didn't have so many different calendars)
Next I imported each calendar from the Zip file into their respective calendar titles(again this would be easy with fewer calendars but even with 13 of them it only took 10 minutes)
Finally I went to network settings, opened up iCloud setting and put in my user name and password. All my calendars uploaded to my iCloud calendar.
I opened iCloud calendar on safari and logged in. All my calendars were there. They weren't in the same colors as the one's on my google calendar but all of it was there (More on this later).
To finish up I deleted my iCloud account settings under network settings, deleted all the iCal entries, and logged off of the the iCloud and Google calendars (don't want anyone in my stuff)
When I got home I logged in to iCloud and changed the calendar colors to suit my preferences.
Sorry this was a bit long winded....all in all it took about 20-25 minutes and was really easy

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
All iWork apps allow you to save your documents on your computer. You will be able to choose the destination when you want to save a document.
You can also disable iCloud for some apps. To do that, go to System Preferences -> iCloud, press "Options" next to "iCloud Drive" and disable the apps you want to.
If you have lost your old documents, you should have a backup that you made before upgrading to OS X Yosemite, so you only have to restore it.

  • How can I sync my Google calendar (on my PC) with my iCloud calendar

How can I sync my Google calendar on my PC to iCloud so that it is the calendar on my iPhone 5 and iPad Air?

iCloud won't sync your Google calendar but you can add it to your devices as explained here: https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/151674?hl=en.

Can iCalnedar sync wth google calendar?

Have been using BusyCal app (a paid app), in order to handle this bridge and have the ability to "publish" my syncing Google Calendar to a website...  Anyone know if iCal (thru iCloud) now gets along with Google calendar (MULTIPLE 8+ sub-calendars) to keep events syncing?.... Don't want to upgrade to OS until I find out that my BusyCal has been replaced with a reliable replacement...

  • How can I import an ics calendar file to my iPAd2

I want to import my Windows calendar into my iPad2. I've tried using the ics file which is mentioned in the manual but no joy. What can I do?

I have done extensive research and it appears that this can't be done.  A couple of people said you can email your .ics file to the iOS device, click on the file and you will be prompted to add the events to the calendar.  But this process failed for me, and when I tried it a second time, I didn't get the "add all" option any more.  I'm guessing the 4000 or so events were too much for the phone's processing and syncing capabilities.  Anyway, Apple's failure to support a basic function like .ics import on Windows means that I won't be using iCloud anytime soon.  It's too bad, because I would appreciate the ability to set a reminder on the desktop and have it work on the phone, which I can't do with my Gmail calendar.

  • Can I import contacts and calendar into iCloud?

Here's my situation:  I have a ton of contacts and calendar items on an old Powerbook G4. It's old enough that I can't upgrade to OSX Lion, so therefore I can't use it to sync with iCloud. But I am getting an iPhone 4s, and want to figure out how I can get those contacts and calendars on the phone, hopefully using iCloud as the intermediary.
Is there a way in iCloud to do a one-time manual import of a contacts or calendar file? I could then synch the new 4s with iCloud. I'm eventually going to get a new desktop, but in the meantime need to use the 4s as a standalone device.

  • Iphoto can't import .CR2 shot with manual lenses on intel imac

I'm shooting with a Peleng 8mm on my Canon REBEL Xt, it is a manual lens and my problem is that all the pictures shot with regular EF lenses can be imported in iPhoto, but the ones shot with the Peleng freeze the import process. I got this problem on 2 different intel iMacs, never on the PPC ones. and only with CR2 (raw) pics. JPEGs are imported, whatever the lens I shot with.
My idea is that manual lenses do not feed information to the camera. (regular EF lenses inform the camera of their aperture and approx. focus distance). Consequently, the EXIF in the CR2 file has no values for the aperture and focus distance. I think the problem comes from that, but I was wondering if nobody knows a workaround. I did file bug reports, twice.
if someone want to give it a try :
    http://homepage.mac.com/karimc/iphoto_bugreport.zip
CAUTION: when you try to import the above file, iphoto hangs, you have to force-quit it and delete the contents of the "Import" folder in the iPhoto Library. Only for the strong.

Try converting the files to DNG and import that format. It should work.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Ics import and google calendar events dissappear

I am importing an ics from edmodo into ical and selecting one of my google calendar delegates.  The event all populate then one by one start dissappearing soon after..  This also happens with my non google calendars.  Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hello DavidPowell149,
If you can obtain the URL for the calendar, it can be subscribed to in iCal.
iCal 5.x: Subscribe to calendars and reminder lists
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4712
In iCal, choose Calendar > Subscribe.
Enter the web address for the calendar or reminder list you want to subscribe to, and then click Subscribe.
Type a name for the calendar or reminder list in the Name field and choose a color from the adjacent pop-up menu.
If you have an iCloud (or MobileMe) account, choose whether you want the calendar or reminder list to be located on that account. If you want to view a subscription calendar or reminder list in iCal and in the Calendar or Reminder app on devices with iOS 5 or later (iOS 4 or later for MobileMe) without resubscribing to it, choose your iCloud (or MobileMe) account.
If you want to receive any reminders or attachments, or hear any alarms associated with the calendar or reminder list, deselect the appropriate Remove checkboxes.
If you want iCal to update your copy of the calendar or reminder list when changes to it are published on the Internet, choose the update frequency from the “Auto-refresh” pop-up menu.
    Click OK.
A calendar you subscribed to appears in your Calendars pop-up list under the heading “Subscriptions.” To make changes to the calendar, click Calendars, select the calendar, and then choose Edit > Get Info.
    All the best,
    Allen

  • How can I import my Google Contacts to use with Apple Mail?

Google's GMail user interface has become impossible to use. Its most important and useful features are either hidden or have been removed. I want to change to use Apple Mail to retrieve email from my Google account, to answer that email, and to compose new messages.
To compose new messages, I need to be able to use my Google Contacts (created one by one as I've used GMail in the past). I could either "set things up" so that Mail would access my Google Contacts or I could import my Google Contacts to a Mail address book. How do I accomplish one or the other?
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi David C. Murray!
There are a couple of methods for accomplishing this goal. First, you could always export your Google contacts in vCard format and then import them into Contacts on your computer:
Contacts (Mavericks): Export and import contacts
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH15080
The other option is to set your Google contacts to automatically sync with your Contacts app on your computer:
    Contacts (Mavericks): About Contacts accounts
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH15070
Contacts can manage your contact information from other accounts, such as Facebook and Google. Just add those accounts (choose Contacts > Add Account), and you’ll have access to all your current contact information from anywhere.
Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!
