Can I include my faces information in a photo book?

I am using both Aperture and iPhoto to create a large genealogical photo book.
I would like to have the "Faces" information printed in a photo book.
Is this possible?

The Faces are not part of the metadata tags that can be included automatically in the textfields. You can add keywords or captions however. If you transfer manually the faces information to the captions, or add keywords for each face, you can add this information to you genealogical photo book.

  • How can I undo a theme change of a photo book?

I've just spent 5 hours picking photos for my nice photo book for a friend. I was finished, looked at the result and thought, let's save it and try another theme.
Boo! There is no save function in iPhoto!
I try anyways, there is a warning, I change the theme... and:
Boo! All the photos are back randomly and all my handpicking is lost!
Great, I think, I can go back and revert with Undo:
BOO! No undo for theme change!
Is there really no way you can go back and/or save a book before you make changes? Seriously?
    Or what am I missing?
    Thanks, best regards,
    Christoph

Well the obvious route would have been to duplicate the project and then experiment on the duplicate - you know like you back up before trying things. Boo.
Other than that, restore from your back up.

  • How can I include the Header Information....for a File to IDOC Scenario

    Hi,
I made a File to IDOC Scenario with DEBMDM06 for MDM>XI>SAP R/3. The Header Information in the XML File which is at the XI end is Missing. For that reason In Tcode SXMB_MONI we are getting an Error that <b>"HEADER Information Missing: Message should Start with EDI_DC40"</b> i.e the Header Information.
My Question is that whether we can do some changes in the Message mapping Step in the Integration Repository. I HardCoded the Few mandatory Fields that were there but it Again gave me the Same Error as above.
Can you please Suggest some Solution for this. Since the data is Coming in from MDM part the Header information is not there but It actually Important as it has got all the Port Information.
      Kindly Inform me some Solutions.
    Thanks & Regards
    Somnath

    Hi Suraj,
Thanks for ur Reply, but Since we are Doing a File to IDOC Scenario the IDOC DEBMDM is on the Right Side in Message Mapping and as U know it is Mandatory to Map an IDOC on the Right Part. EDI_DC40 is coming as it is there in the IDOC but our XML File Does not have that. If we Don't Map then it Becomes RED, which is an Error.
Furthermore in the Receiver Agreement we have put the Necessary Details such as Sender Service and Receiver Service along with the IDOC Communication Channels.
Can U give as a Better Insight on this Note how to check the Header Part as it is mandatory to MAP.We also tried to HARDCODE it by putting those Values and Mapping them to a Constant but it is Giving the Same Error.
    Thanks and Regards

  • How can I have Iphoto Faces run through my photos to identify faces?

I merged two libraries together and the newer library had all the faces named after many hours. I loaded the older library by merging and was hoping that the faces I had painstakingly done on the newer one would start reviewing these pictures and suggesting people etc. It appears this is not the case and that I will have to go through each photo and "add missing" face which is really tedious.
Does anyone know a way for faces to scan my whole new library to start suggesting faces for me to confirm. I would appreciate any help you can provide.

    Dear LN,
Thanks so much for the quick response. Is there a way to highlight (or select) a whole bunch of shots and control click for missing faces? Or do I have to do it one by one? When I try it on one picture, I then put in the names and hit the next arrow for the next picture. But it does not scan automatically. I have to hit the faces button and then go back to thumbnails. What I am hoping to do is have it go through perhaps a whole event and then I go through to confirm.
    Does this make sense?
    Thanks,

  • Where is face information stored, and how can it be exported

I don't have the product yet, but after hearing our photographer's rave review of the faces feature, I'm wondering where iPhoto stores the faces information... and how that info can be exported.
does it get tagged in like exif info, or can the program export a per-file xml piece of information, or what?

If you are interested in mucking arond with iPhoto databases, I think you might be able to extract the information.
One way that will work is to create a smart album with the name of the person. This will create an album that is always up to date with that person's photos. You can then parse out the photos from the AlbumData.xml and figure out which photos have which that person in it.
Another way that doesn't involve creating smart albums (if you don't want those to clutter iPhoto) is to look at the face.db file. This file is an sqlite3 database that contains information about all of the "faces" in your database. You can see the contents of the database with the command
    /usr/bin/sqlite3 face.db .dump > dump.txt
I haven't figured out what all of the fields are, but I'm sure that there are lines that contain ID numbers for the photos (which you can get from the AlbumData.xml file). I'm sure that someone will publish how to extract what you need from this file at some point (of course this is hacking around in the internal database from iPhoto which can easily change at any time). I haven't reverse engineered the format yet, but might do so at some point (I am also very interested in this information).

  • I have an iPhoto event on my computer that I have photo-edited, named, key-worded, and place and dated. How to I transfer that event to another computer in a way that includes ALL the information?

I have iPhoto '09, version 8.1.2. I have an event in the Library whose photos have all been edited, faces named, keywords added, and place and dated. How do I transfer the event intact (with ALL the editing, names, dates, places, etc) to another computer? Exporting does not include all the information (no dates or face names), nor does burning a DVD (it shows the location pinned on the map, but doesn't write out the name of the place).

    File -> Export:
    Kind: Jpeg
    Check the boxes at Include...
This will get everything you mention except the Faces data. There is no way to share that on any system.
Note that this information including the dates is written to the IPTC and Exif metadata. So you'll need an app that understands these things as the Finder doesn't - a Photo app for insstance.
There are two kinds of metadata involved when you consider  jpeg or other image file.
One is the file data. This is what the Finder shows. This tells you nothing about the contents of the file, just the File itself.
The problem with File metadata is that it can easily change as the file is moved from place to place or exported, e-mailed, uploaded etc.
Photographs have also got both Exif and IPTC metadata. The date and time that your camera snapped the Photograph is recorded in the Exif metadata. Regardless if what the file date says, this is the actual time recorded by the camera.
Photo applications like iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Picasa, Photoshop etc get their date and time from the Exif metadata.
When you export from iPhoto to the Finder new file is created containing your Photo (and its Exif). The File date is - quite accurately - reported as the date of Export. However, the Photo Date doesn't change.
The problem is that the Finder doesn't work with Exif.
So, your photo has the correct date, and so does the file, but they are different things. To sort on the Photo date you'll need to use a photo app.

  • Can i include external usb drives in Time Machine backups

Can I include external usb drives and sticks in Time Machine backups?
This was the question I searched a week for. My machine is a MBAir with Yosemite. I have a bunch of USB HD and sticks. This is a sharing of what it took to solve. I lost a couple of important document revisions lately because of not having differential backups on them, so wanted to include them in Time Machine.
Yes it can, I found. But it's a wee bit backwards. And apparent inconsistencies drive you crazy. Time Machine is supposed to do this by default, and wants you to tell it what NOT to include. Trouble is, formats create many troubles.
But the USB sticks and HD's you buy are PC formatted. And you'd like to share, as the Apple does with FAT16, FAT32, and exFAT (to overcome the 4G size limit on the others). Even NTFS can be plugged in and be read-only. Turns out you just can't incorporate into TM backups.
Open Time Machine Options, and look at the drives listed in the exclusion window. Drives that you know to be plugged in and registered by Finder, may or not be registered in the exclusion window, and if registered and their icons may be bright or dimmed. Bright will NOT be included. Dimmed are excluded. Normally the operation is to use the or to exclude these drives from your next BU operation. (this instruction is lost the next time in manual mode). So if a drive or stick is shown and is bright it WON'T be backed up. If you it from the window, then it will grey out and WILL be backed up. If it's not there to offer you exclusion, you can browse to such a file or device so you can exclude it. TM's exclusion window will show the PC formats: FAT16, FAT32, and exFAT greyed out (as not included). NTFS is bright looking like it might work, but when    doesn't dim, it disappears, and is ignored in the actual BU.
Sources are supposed to be included in the backup if it isn't shown bright in the exclusion window. In this respect I only use TM manually, and not for programmed BU's, so I cannot speak to that.
If everything you have is formatted for the Apple disc system (Mac OS Extended) then there are no contradictions or partial equivalences. The mounted disc or stick will show in TM exclusions window, and if you it, you'll see it in the Time Machine pile of calendared directories, with all the files. And of course it will do the differential backups for it that we use TM for in the first place. Just remember to prepare the BU by not excluding.
BUT NOW THE VARIABLES. It now depends upon the formats. I use the Paragon NTFS program to permit writing NTFS. (Apple can normally read but not write NTFS). Paragon is lovely because for normal computer use, I can read and write both Apple and PC files and disc formats in Finder (for 3 years now). But Time Machine cannot be reached by Paragon so it's NTFS behaviors are outrageous. Paragon reaches Disk Doctor so you can read, write, format and heal both Apple and PC formats. And this really confused things respecting Time Machine. I literally worked through every variable, from stick to disc to prove what did work, and when false appearances of working showed up.
Respecting that very Time Machine display of Finder windows piled backwards through time there's a confusing bug. When first opened, TM shows NOW as the current setup and works just like a Finder window in present time. And the outboard discs and sticks show as in Finder. BUT working back in time, the left window DOES NOT SHOW THE CONDITIONS AT BACKUP but rather in all left windows shows the present setup. So you need to work from the right hand side dates and times to go back and see when you had that stick or HD plugged in. And then, finally, you will see the files you wanted saved. But if there is a stick on the left than TM doesn't like but Finder likes you'll see it left but nothing will be in the files. Clicking on the pretender just jumps to the root.
My Disk Doctor provisions (with Paragon) show, Mac OS Extended (Journaled), Mac OS Extended (Case Sensitive Journaled), MS-DOS (FAT), exFAT, Windows NT Filesystem, Windows NT Filesystem (compressed). It's a better utility than in Microsoft and I use it for such maintenance.
Bottom line, I like TM very much. 2 years ago I lost my air and TM was able to reconstruct my machine many times in the course of the troubleshooting - all the way from the start to the last without ever missing a beat or a file. So I accept this limitation and make copies to another HD formatted in NTFS when I work on PCs.
Hope's this sorts out being lost in the desert for a few of you.

Storing normal data files on the Time Capsule is unfortunately not as easy as dropping the folder on the Time Capsule.
Open up Macintosh HD on the Mac
Look for the SHARED heading on the left
Click on the Time Capsule icon and a folder named "Data" will appear (unless you have renamed it)
Double click the "Data" folder to mount the drive on the desktop. You may need to enter the device password for the Time Capsule when you do this the first time
Once the drive icon is on the desktop, you can drag data to the icon and drop it there. Double click the icon to open up the drive and see the files

  • Can I include a bean inside a customization project?

    Hi,
I am customizing out-of-the-box Profile (.jsff) pages. I'll have to create a bean which will get binary data from Oracle. I have a project to customize the Profile pages. Can I include the bean inside the project? Or, should I create a separate project, and have the pages referenced to the bean class. How should I go for that?
    Many Thanks

    Hi,
For now, you can change any attributes on user's profile page like department and etc. What's about if I want to create a dynamic drop-down department list for a user to pick? The department list will be generated from a database source. In jdeveloper, you can have various roles. I'm switching back and forth between 'default' and 'customization' roles. In the default role, I'm going to create a javabean to create the dynamic department list. In customization role, I customize the 'look and feel' of the profile page. This is kind of pain in the neck. Am I going to a wrong direction? Is there anyway of getting the work done without switching.
Secondly, on the profile page, I use EL to reference an attribute in a javabean. But, when I load the page, it errors out.

  • How can i turn off faces

i can't turn off faces in iphoto although i had previously, with the new update i guess it cancelled it and now iphoto is trying to identify 12000 faces.. anyone  have instructions?

What ever - we are users just like you - creepy, not creppy, paranoid, not paranoid - we can not change anything - we just help people use it the way it is - that is all this forum is for - users helping other users
    LN
BTW I guess you have no idea how faces works - it does not identify people (yet) it identifies faces and you go in and assign people to the face - if you ignore it then all that Big Brother can see when they scan your computer every night is that you have photos that include people - which of course they already knew because everyone takes pictures of people
