Can I increase flash storage on macbook air??

Is it possible to increase the flash storage on a Macbook Air?  I have a 128GB and am running out of space.

You didn't specify the model of MBA you have, but if it is amongst the last two generations, you can check here.
Some contend it voids the warranty to upgrade your MBA in this manner. It is completely reversable if it becomes a potential issue, but make sure the expertise as shown in the install video is completely within your skill set.

You can upgrade your flash memory if you want, but it's not cheap. You can buy a bigger memory at OWC > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/SSD/OWC/ Look for OWC Aura Pro

Uh, iFixit and the manufacturer of the upgradeable SSD Flash Storage for the 2010-2011 MBA would respectfully disagree. Yes, the volatile memory is not upgradeable, but the storage SSD (NAND Flash) is as upgradeable as it gets.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities

  • Updated osx and flash storage for macbook air and now i can't start up

I updated my macbook air, and now when it restarts I get a circle with a line through it, then the apple, then the screen turns blue, and then it takes me right to the disk utility.  It wont boot my desktop.  Help!

You say you updated the flash storage.  I'm guessing you just recently had it replaced by an Authorized Apple Service Center, perhaps as part of the replacement program.
If that's true, take it back to the Authorized Apple Service Center and have them fix it so the new flash drive boots for you.  They should have done that originally.

  • Can't install Flash on new Macbook Air

I've just got a new Macbook Air - new to this!
I have tried to install Adobe Flash Player with no success, can someone help?
Everytime the download gets to around 50%, it stops and tells me Safari needs closing - however it isn't open.
I've already tried a 'clean install' and rebooting from searching these kind of forums.
Help! (laymans terms please - I'm not that 'techie'!!)

    1.  Install Adobe Flash Player.
        http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
       Download it first.
       The next step is important.
Click Safari in the menubar and select “Quit Safari”.
Follow the prompts and install it.
        Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
    2.  Allow  Plug-ins
        Safari > Preferences > Security
        Internet Plug-ins >  "Allow  plug-ins"
        Enable it.

same thing, its solid state storage.
    distinction without a difference.
this is the SSD "flash storage" in the macbook Air, uses micro SATA
    interface:

  • How can I increase FPS on a Macbook Air when recording a video

    Hello everyone.
I am new to Macs and need some help. I have a very high end HD USB camera that I would like to use to record videos with. I did a view test recordings through Quicktime and was gettin 30fps which is exactly what I wanted. Then I downloaded quicktime broadcaster just to see what it could do and my frames per second got capped at 14. I couldn't figure out how to get the fps back up to 30 so I just decided to factory reset my computer because 30fps is that important to me. After the factory reset the fps are still stuck at 30. I don't know if I need to change a setting or if I need to add a codec or something but I really need to get this figured out.
    Any help is greatlu appreciated.
As a side note I dont have to use quicktime for the recording. If there is another program that is quarunteed to get me 30fps I am not against purchasing it.

As I read your statement it seems to me you're back where you wanted to be - 30fps... In QuickTime  "High" refers to the image quality, not the video frame rate. If you choose "Medium", the image quality will decrease (perhaps imperceptibly) but the frame rate will rise.
There are reasons/limits to choosing the "best" frame rates. Youve omitted several key pices of information for those attempting to provide help.
The make of the Camera and it's FPS limits. The software the camera reccomends for recording, if any.
For most applcations 24 FPS is an industry standard.  Why, or what you expect/desire to accomplish with a higer frame rate is not clear.

  • How can I increase my storage capacity on my macbook air

How can I increase the storage capacity of my macbook air?

Oh I know you were implying archival backup software.  I was just throwing in the "on the cheap"  archive option.
Back when I worked at a large unnamed institution things got archived to the power of 10 at multiple locations, the mere notion of "losing anything" was an impossibility short of a black hole opening up on earth. Even the archival managers thought it was insane redundancy, but thats the way it was.
I work off that same premise myself. I cant lose 20+ years of work.
I coined this term about 11 years ago.
    Decentralized Omnipresent Data (D.O.D.)
    Backing up data to:
    Multiple HD in multiple locations
On multiple servers on multiple continents, private and public websites, anonymous data farms. (very easy actually)
Burned onto archival optical and magnetic storage
Have unclassified data possessed by multiple people in multiples places.
When your data becomes both everywhere and nowhere, accessible to all, destructible by none, cannot be collected together or permanently retrieved under any circumstances, you have Decentralized Omnipresent Data (D.O.D.) protection rivaling that of large governments.

  • How to decrease the storage in macbook air

how to decrease the storage in macbook air ?

you mean decrease all the files filling your Air?
See here for answer about the OTHER which is taking up space:
    http://pondini.org/TM/30.html
    and here:
    http://pondini.org/OSX/DiskSpace.html
See Kappys excellent note on the rest of “other” files taking up your space:
What is "Other" and What Can I Do About It?
In the case of a Macbook Air or Macbook Pro Retina with ‘limited’ storage on the SSD, this distinction becomes more important in that in an ever rapidly increasing file-size world, you keep vital large media files, pics, video, PDF collections, music off your SSD and archived on external storage, for sake of the necessary room for your system to have free space to operate, store future applications and general workspace.  You should never be put in the position of considering “deleting things” on your macbook SSD in order to ‘make space’.
Professionals who create and import very large amounts of data have almost no change in the available space on their computers internal HD because they are constantly archiving data to arrays of external or networked HD.
Or in the case of the consumer this means you keep folders for large imported or created data and you ritually offload and archive this data for safekeeping, not only to safeguard the data in case your macbook has a HD crash, or gets stolen, but importantly in keeping the ‘breathing room’ open for your computer to operate, expand, create files, add applications, for your APPS to create temp files, and for general operation.

  • How do you increase flash storage

I have the latest 2013 version of the MacBook Air. I bought the one with 128 gb and it has 15 gb left. How do you increase flash storage on the MacBook Air?

You cannot.  Your options are to sell your current machine and trade it for a 256GB model, or to purchase and use an external drive, or to clear out lots of space on your existing drive.
