Can I insall oracle apps 11.5.7 into win2000 professional.
Otherwise there is any restriction is there.Pls advice to me

There are no restrictions that I know of. I've installed it on 2k pro and the installation of the demo DB went fine. Unfortunately, I only have 256M of RAM and from time to time I recieve out of virtual memory or low virtual memory warnings. I do start two services (Oracle Fulfillment and Oracle ICSM) after the system boots. I'm no in the process of troubleshooting the Applications Manager Login. I can log into the Oracle Applications page as user MFG OPERATIONS SERVICES etc, however, I cannot go any further. The screen states "Your session is no longer valid. Please login again."

Yes you can forward requests from your own apache to the iAS. This can be done using mod_proxy. Some hints about how to do this are availlable on this forum.
mod_oc4j is not a standard apache module, and therefore is not availlable when you download apache. There is no apparent reason to use mod_oc4j on a "regular" webserver (unless you want to build your own iAS). Also there might be some licenseing issues with using mod_oc4j module on a standard apache.
You can encrypt data that is passed from a random Apache to you iAS.

Can't find Pages app in iPad downloaded into desktop

I purchased the Page app for work from iTunes while my iPad was syncing. I downloaded it and synced my iPad again but can't find it anywhere in my iPad. Any way to download it again while on my iPad? Or any idea what happened to it>

Just download it again straight from your ipad. Go onto the app store on your ipad and search "pages" click on buy now and enter your password, once it starts downloading it will come up with a text box saying "you have already purchased this app would you like to download it again for free" then just click "yes" this solution is win win as this way if you have already paid then you will be able to download it for free, and if you haven't paid, then you wanted to download it anyway so you still get it on your ipad.

Oracle Apps 11.5.8 Can i Install on Win Xp Machine??

I am new to ERP? I have few doubts regarding Apps!
Can i Install Oracle Apps 11.5.8 on Windows Xp Machine which runs with 1 GB Ram on a 120 GB sata Hard-disk!!!
I am aware of MKS Tool Kit and Gnome - and now is the above version compatible with Windows XP or i need to stick to Windows 2000 Advanced Server??

Hi, GNOME, is a graphical envirorment for platforms as Linux and some Unix, but not for Windows. As part of the installation Oracle E-Business Suite on Windows, you have install MKS Toolkit for Unix command emulation on Windows.
As alternative to MKS Toolkit, exist GYGWIN, a free software with same funcionalities as MKST. Review the Metalink note 302859.1.

Oracle Apps and HTML DB Integration Problems

Hi,
I have integrated Oracle Apps and HTML DB, using custom authentication schema so that HTML DB looks for APPS username and password for validation.
Also, i have created menu, responsiblity, functions, custom application etc, so that user can login from Oracle Apps login screen and then select the responsibility which will redirect to HTML DB Applications page.
My problem is, once the user clicks on the Responsbility and the function(which is nothing but HTML DB Page), it is redirecting to login page and i need to re-enter the apps user name and password again to access HTML DB applications.
Is there any way, can i redirect the user directly into my HTML DB application page, without taking him to login page of HTML DB application and also uses the APPS user name and password which he had entered in the Oracle Apps login page.
I need your help on doing the same. Please respond.

Thanks for the quick reply. I agree with you in terms of validating the session but I haven't been able to get that to work - one of my earlier posts describes the issues I have experienced:
Authentication and SSO (non-Oracle)
I suppose my question is - is there a simple way for the APEX app to validate that there is an active Apps session cookie?
In terms of the encrypted password, what I have been trying to do was make use of the FND_WEB_SEC.VALIDATE_LOGIN method which is described in other posts and the Scott Spendolini presentation on integrating apps.

Oracle.apps.ar.hz.Location.update event still working

Dear All,
I facing a problem, a even was disabled few months back, but still the even sending work flow mails. i have followed this below metalink document

As per the Document, i have disabled the event,, now again the same wf mail coming, what might be the reason,, how to stop this WF

i found another Metalink note *Can the event 'oracle.apps.ar.hz.Location.update' be disabled? [ID 315800.1]*.
According to this note, i have disabled this following two subscriptions
WSH_MAP_LOCATION_REGION_PKG.Rule_Location
hz_crmhk_pkg.update_location_prenow waiting for the Client mail, if the wf is not triggred then no problem otherwise i have log an SR as u said.
more over i have a doubt in that above mentioned metalink note, can u explain me what is TCA information
These functions would not get executed via workflow but the application that uses these will have a way to handle this in the application. Please check with those groups on what >to run in those applications to handle the workflow functions.
It is fine to disable the event or if you do not want to run any of the TCA workflow events then just set the HZ: Execute API Callouts profile option to NO and workflow events will >not be used for when updating TCA information.Regards

Oracle 7.3 Installation Problem on Win2000

Dear all,
Can I install Oracle 7.3 Client on win2000?
I can only install Oracle Server beoz the installer recognize
win2000 as NT server.

Oracle 7.3 will not work on Win2000. I tried this some time ago
and had a multitude of problems. So I now use Oracle8i on
Win2000. 7.3 is not certified for Win2000.

Hi Aasma,
The standard BI Publisher is part of EBS applications.
Most of the EBS reports(R12) are based on BI Publisher.
If you check the responsibility 'XML Publisher Administrator' you will see all the templates used in the application.
Your technical team should already know this.
On the other hand OBIEE would need separate licences.
But for you BI Publisher would do.

i have created message and ran the concurent programme of generate message in 11i, after that i have called that message name into jdeveloper. message is displaying correctly. i am trying to update the message which i have created and again ran the concurent programme. but updated message is not reflected. its shwing old message.
Can't we update the mesages after ceated messages in oracle apps 11i? if so what is the process.

Kindly check in AOL and confirm that the message is changed. Also make sure the Jdeveloper code refers to the message code and the language for which the message text is set correctly. Thereafter delete the myclasses file and run the code again. Updated message should be shown.

How I can set ORG_ID context (for Oracle Apps Views) in ODI designer tool?

Hi All,
I want to get data from apps views (like OE_ORDER_HEADER_V) into our data warehouse detination table using ‘Oracle Data Integrator’ tool.
The issue is that when I reverse Oracle Table or Synonym directly, everything works fine i.e. after 'Interface' execution, I can see how many rows imported into destination table from this source Oracle table/synonym.
But when I use Apps view as a source then 'Interface' executes fine with ‘no error’ but NO rows imports to the destination table.
I believe, the only difference is that I am not able to set Org_Id before executing ODI interface so it is not picking the data.
Please let me know the steps/instructions to set org_id context on apps view then reverse in ODI Designer tool.
Please note that I can set org_id using SQLPlus successfully as given below (and see data using the same Apps view). What to do in ODI designer tool to achieve similar data:

An another possibility is to do the opposite to what I just wrote. Upload the true definition to the database an compare with the one you are not sure about via SQL:
1. Backup the WFT file where the standard/seeded workflow is provided
2. Edit it and change the name of the ITEM_TYPE. For instance, change it from OEOL to OEOL_TMP (cannot exceed 8 characters)
3. Upload it to the database with WFLOAD
4. Compare the design tables for the two if them (WF_ITEM_TYPES, WF_ACTIVITIES, WF_MESSAGES, WF_PROCESS_ACTIVITIES, WF_ITEM_ATTRIBUTES, etc). If the table provides a VERSION column then the query would need to use a WHERE END_DATE is null (so that you get only the active/current version of the object). A select... MINUM select would do the job.
I would do this in test though, to avoid a mistake can cause any issues.
