Can i insert a dropdown selection box for a cell

Hi,
I have an exel spreadsheet that contains a dropdown selection box in one cell. allof the other formulae in the sheet work except the drop down. Is this possible in numbers on the ipad?

Hi Paul,
Apple vocabulary for this is pop-up menu. In the Mac version of Numbers, it's a cell format, so if it's supported in the iOS version, I suspect you'll find it in the same place as you'd find other ways to format a cell—number, percentage, text, etc.
I've requested your question be transferred to the iWork for iOS community, where the iPad Numbers experts hang out, and where you'll get a more definitive answer.

Multiple Selection Boxes for Data

Hello all,
I need to create a dashboard that will allow me to drill down by two parameters. For example:
I need to see the country in this example USA and then a second critera would be the states.
So I would want to be able to select USA in one combo box potenially and see the totals and then select a specific state in a second combo box and see those totals.
I would then want to do south america and those countries. So South America and then Brazil, mexico, ect.
Any feedback or ideas.

Cant select boxes for correction

I am working with several textboxes in the same document. Now I cant select any of the boxes for correction. The text cursor is just standing in the left upper corner - blinking. Any tricks for selecting boxes - any help will be highly appriciated.

Hello Frank,
the textboxes are behind the main text area of the page. You can see the main text area by choosing the menu item "View > Show Layout". The big area surrounded by the gray frame in the center of the page. You activate this text area each time you click into it. To select the objects behind the text area, click outside of the area near the page border and drag to one or more textboxes. After releasing the mouse button, all objects inside of the selection frame will be selected. If you want to deselect some textboxes of the actual selection, drag a second time but with the shift key pressed. The one you need to be selected must not be inside the selection frame.
With the shift key you have a negate selection toole. A selected object will be delected and a deselected object will be selected.

How can I reinstate the warning dialog box for entering a secure site?

I would like to reinstate the warning box that tells me when I am entering a secure site. The one that warns when I am leaving a secure site is working just fine. I probably unchecked the box for entering at one time or another but I can't find how to bring it back.

Looks that the Warning Messages dialog for those settings is gone from Tools > Options > Security
You can reset the related <b>security.warn_</b> prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.

I execute a Web Template and enter a value for example a company variable. After this I press the "Check"-Button and get the short text of the company but I want to see the long text.

I changed the text type to long text, but the result is the same.

How can I get a new search box for each new tab?

When I open a new tab, I would like a new, dedicated search box that is owned by it. This would help to keep the context preserved when doing searches on multiple, separate topics. Is there a way to configure this or an add-on to do it?

You can do this by using the default about:home page with the Google search and place it in a new tab.
You can try to reset the prefs that do that to see if it'll reverse the action

Why can't I see the bounding box for objects on the pasteboard?

Adobe CC sucks. Why last week was I able to see the bounding box of objects that I had on the pasteboard in InDesign CC, including objects that didn't contain anything yet, and now suddenly this week I can't see them?
It seems as though every week something inexplicably gets changed around. First Save As had no shortcut, then suddenly the shortcut is back, but it doesn't work.
Get it together Adobe. I don't want to be paying a subscription for a product that feels as though it's still in Beta mode.

Yes thanks, I don't think I was clear in what I wrote. I knew that they could be turned back on, but why did I open InDesign this morning to find my workspace/preferences different than how I left them on Friday?
And I know it isn't a case of my mistakenly turning off the frame edges, because the operator that sits next to me had the exact same thing happen to her copy of InDesign this morning also.
I understand the requirement to update things, but it really does feel as though I'm using software that is still in testing.

Firefox 4 uses a new build-in home page named <b>about:home</b> with a Google search bar on it.
That about:home page only shows some snippets and has a button to restore the previous session if applicable.

Pre-selecting from Spry Data Select Box

I am new here so sorry if this is in the wrong section/format
I am using Two Spry XML Datasets to populate 2 dropdown boxes with vehicle makes and the connected model names (there are other fields but for the sake of clarity I will only show these 2). The XML is dynamically generated by PHP/MySQL and works great for initially creating records. The problem I have is when I want to edit my record and so pre-select the data in the dropdown select box. The first box is easy and works fine but the second box only updates when the first is updated using the 'onchange' and I cannot get it to update on load. I can get it to update 'onclick' or other events but I need it to update the second box when the page loads. Any ideas? I am sure there is a simple solution staring me in the face, but I just can't see it

Sorry for not being clear -
The first Spry Select box populates with the Vehicle Makes and selects the stored make from the DB. The second box is supposed to populate with the corresponding Vehicle Models (corresponding to the Vehicle Make in box one) but it initially only populates with the first makes data (not the selected one) if I add:    onfocus="dsmakes.setCurrentRowNumber(this.selectedIndex);     to the first box it works as it should as soon as it receives focus and the second box updates and selects the correct model.
I have tried adding
Spry.Utils.addLoadListener(InitPage);
     function InitPage() {
       dsmakes.setCurrentRowNumber(makeSelect.selectedIndex);
but I cannot get the second box to update without clicking on the first
It seems there should be s simple solution to this but I cannot see it.

Need help with moving items betwen 2 netui select boxes

Hi,
I have 2 multiple select boxes for possible courses and assigned courses. I need a way to implement move of option items from one box to another using buttons. The user can select courses from one box and move them to another. I am not sure how I would do that with netui select boxes and a pageflow method. If I use javascript, i get all kinds of errors even though I am trying to use the tagid. If validation fails, then the select boxes dont save the updated content.
Please help.
