Can I insert a pdf file (Adobe Reader 8) into an Outlook 2007 message body

I don't want to attach it to the e-mail but want it to show up as the body of the e-mail.  Is there a way to do this?
Thank you
Paula

Hello,
As this an Adobe Reader question, I've moved your post over the Reader (as opposed to the Acrobat.com) forums. Good luck!
Michelle
And how is the poster going to find her post again...?

  • Can't open web pdf document: Adobe Reader 10 stops at welcome screen

    I installed Adobe Reader X.
    Now, when I open a pdf file from the web, the browser (either Google Chrome, Opera or Firefox) downloads the file and opens Adobe X.
    Funny, I thought. Up to this date (using Adobe 9) the browser opened the file into a browser window, using the plugin.
    Of course, I went into Reader Edit/Preferences/Internet and checked the "Display PDF in browser" to no avail: instead of opening the pdf inside the browser, the browser launches the Reader X program.
    However, after downloading the pdf and opening Reader X, you find a nice gorram welcome screen.
    As there is no way to close that screen (you have to choose one of the documents opened in the past or pick a document from the disk), Adobe Reader will not open the file I just picked in the browser. It just sits there waiting for me to pick one of the options of this welcoming screen.
    Of course, the page with the files I'm trying to download uses an script or something similar to load them, so I cannot right click on any of the files to download them to a folder and then open them using Reader's "Open file" option.
    The file I'm trying to open is this one: http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DCRTRV19.pdf
    The page where the file resides is this one: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=DCRTRV19&template_id=1&region_id=1&tab=man uals#/manualsTab
    So, how in heaven do I open this file from my browser? (as I said, Opera, Chrome and Firefox all display the same behaviour. I haven't tried IE and I refuse to do it).
    To be sincere, in Firefox the file opened once. I read the first pages and then I made the mistake of indicating to the browser that it should use the Adobe X to open pdf files. (Firefox "offered" that option out of its "own free will").
    Now I have the same problem in Firefox: I see a nice blue bar that indicates the percentage of the file downloaded and, when it reaches 100%, Adobe opens and "freezes" the browser, because Reader sits there at the welcome screen and the browser is waiting for the file to open.
    Of course, the help for plug ins at Firefox and Opera (I haven't checked Chrome) says simply: download Adobe Reader and that's it.
    I frankly hate this behaviour: up to this date Reader has been the source of simplicity, the example of a software that does only what it was made to do, sitting quietly in my PC, churning pdf files without the slightest complain, a veritable jewel among poorly designed software.
    As this unclosable welcome screen seems to me a blatant attempt by Adobe to undercut the many web sites that offer to translate PDFs to Word documents, my only thoughts are: thanks, people at Adobe! You have managed to break the unbreakable.
    Can anyone help me? This day has been a nice one up to this moment...

    Please let me know the following details:
    1. The exact version of Adobe Reader on your system. You can get the same by clicking on Help > About Adobe Reader or getting the same information from the Add/Remove Programs section in the Conrol Panel. If its not the latest version of Reader i.e. 11.0.03, please download the same from: http://get.adobe.com/reader and see if it solves the issue.
    2. Does the issue also happen if you just launch the Reader application alone without launching any PDF.
    3. Are you using any 3rd party plugin for Adobe Reader. If so, please remove the same and see if it solves your problem.
    In case you arent sure regarding the same, please follow the below steps and see if it helps:
         a. Navigate to the Reader installation folder. Usually its C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 11.0
         b. Ensure that Adobe Reader is not running and delete the entire "Reader" folder
         c. Initiate a Repair transaction for Adobe Reader from the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
    4. Try temporarily disabling the Anitivirus software, and see if it solves your issue.

  • Trusted function not reffered in PDF file - Adobe reader.

    Am failry new to Adobe scripting.
    I am trying to generate a jasper report of PDF file format from an online web application
    MY intension is to automatically save the generated report into my user's hard drive location say /C/Sample/sample.pdf
    I have created the trusted function and made it copied to the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\Javascripts
    Trusted function code mySaveAs.js
    var mySaveAs = app.trustedFunction( function(oDoc,cFile)
    app.beginPriv();
    // Ensure path has trailing "/" cPath = cPath.replace(/([^\/])$/, "$1/");
    try{
      oDoc.saveAs(cFile);
    }catch(e){
      app.alert("Error During Save");
    app.endPriv();
    And am invoking the script from the Jasper api which will be a part of the PDF script like below
    exporter.setParameter(JRPdfExporterParameter.PDF_JAVASCRIPT,
         " if(typeof(mySaveAs) == 'function') { " +
         " mySaveAs(this,'/C/Sample/sample.pdf');"+
         " } else { " +
         " app.alert('Missing Save Function\n Please contact forms administrator')" +
    its just Equivalent of
    if(typeof(mySaveAs) == 'function') {
          mySaveAs(this,'/C/Sample/sample.pdf');
    } else {
      app.alert('Missing Save Function\n Please contact forms administrator')}
    but am not able to get the file saved in my client machine.
    Kindly suggest me a better approach or any where if am missing something.
    Am failry new to Adobe scripting.

    Am currently using Adobe reader 11 I am not getting any alert .
    But the same saveAs() works well in XP even with out making it as a trusted function, We have just placed the script inside the PDF itself. But its not working in Windows 7.
    Below code works fine in Win XP
    try
         this.saveAs('/C/Sample/sample.pdf'');
        catch(e)
        { app.alert(e);}

  • I can't open any pdf with Adobe Reader XI, neither online or offline - OS X

    Since I've upgraded to Acrobat Reader XI I'm not able to open any pdf file.
    I can't open any .PDF already existing in my Mac and also can't open anything online throughout browser (I use Safari and Chrome)
    I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader over and over again and it has no improving.
    I've tried to install an older version and still doesn't work.
    All my problems started with the upgrade to Adobe Reader XI.
    As you can imagine I really need to be able to open pdf through browser, that's my biggest concern.
    I'll attach the error message that appears on the screen.

    Hi a.vouga,
    Are you still facing this issue.
    If yes, i would suggest you may create a new user profile and install Reader again and check.
    Regards,
    Ajlan Huda.

  • Why can't I highlight PDFs on Adobe Reader from my PC?

    I understand that if documents don't permit it, you can't highlight. However my friend's with Mac computers can highlight on every PDF document that they try to. Yet if I try to highlight on the exact same document I can't. Why can people with Macs do this and my PC can't? We have the same updated version of Adobe Reader. I'm very confused.

    Thank you for trying to help. We have compared security mode settings and their Macs say that commenting is allowed, while mine says it's not allowed. I'm assuming this is why I can't highlight and they can. But I dont understand why they're different? The files this happens to are PDFs that our college classes assign as reading- so we all go to the same place to access these PDFs and save them, so the security modes shouldn't be different, but they are. Any idea why? Are Macs just enabled to do this for whatever reason and PCs aren't?

This is fixed with kb40558 for our English versions but the students and I can not find where to make the change to Font and Resource Policy" dropdown to "Send for Each Page" in the Chinese version.
    Can someone help - A Chinese language version of the KB or a screen shot of the location where the change is required would be most helpful

  • Can I insert a pdf file that can be downloaded

    I am a teacher who would like to post downloadable pdf files for students to access when they are absent and can't get the homework.  Can this be doen and if so how?

    Don't give a try and put the burden on your visitor.
    If you have pdf files, publish pdf files.
    Create a link to these files and publish the webpage.
    Then your visitor can either right-click and choose save file or click the link to open the pdf in a browserwindow.
    He then can decide to save the pdf.
    Try the offered solutions on a iPad.
    What do I do with the zip file?
    I rather save the pdf in iBooks for further reading.

  • Slow opening of .pdf files - Adobe Reader XI

    I have Adobe Reader XI - when I go to open a .pdf file (small file sizes like 17KB even) - the file takes about 45 seconds to open.  How do I get it to open faster?  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the reader but that didn't work.

    See if you have anything on your system slowing things down. Try turning off your virus protection. If you have no protection, install some and have it look for virus or spyware. Those are the most common things to slow a computer down.

  • Missing component to access (read) a PDF file Adobe reader 8

    When I try to open a PDF file it says there are some missing components to complete the operation and it sends me to the Adobe Web page (Adobe Acrobat plug in Finder) I already asked to the author of the file and followed his installation instructions but the problem remains. If I try to open it in some other computer the error message specifies the component filter/MBAS:ash is missing.

    I am getting the same message, "Filter/MBAS:Ash:", that you posted on Adobeforums.com. Did you find out where to get the missing component? If so, I would appreciate your help.

  • Can I insert an html file as an image into an HTML page?

    The site I'm working on (www.ngospen.com) has PNGs for background art - 10 - 15 kb per image. As the site is intended for settings with low bandwidth, I'd like these background images to be as small as possible.
    When saving for the web, one of the options is Save As HTML file. When I open the file, the artwork appears the same as the PNG (no lost resolution), but it is a much smaller file size (1 - 2 KB).
    Is it possible to insert these HTML files into my HTML pages?
    Thanks!

    Are you meaning that you work with fireworks?
    If so the html and the images you export are flattened images (slices), you have to put those images directly into your html page.
    If you want to save the file (fireworks) as a flattened image you could also goto save as -> flattened png.
    If you save your image from fireworks just as png it contains the layer information etc. etc. from fireworks, that's why you should save them as flattened png, or just export the slices.

  • Why can't I save pdfs in Adobe Reader X (10.1.1)

    I am unable to save copies ofcertain pdfs in Reader X (10.1.1). The pdf (from an academic journal) opens without problem but when I click on the Save a copy icon in the tool bar nothing happens.  I'm told to click Shift+Ctrl+S and then get a "Bad Parameter " message.  If I click on the Print icon there is no problem.  I'm running Windows 7.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    I have searched the net and can not come up with anything else to support my problem.  Like you I have a user on my network who is using Adobe X.  When he downloads and runs certain files he is unable to save them, but can save them as a different file.  Adobe X displays a message along the lines that it has features disabled but if you save the file as a different one they will allow editing.  When this is done, nothing has changed.
    The user can not save files, that other users have no problem saving.  I did a full check, the files are not digitally signed, protected, and have no security measures attached to them at all.  A full reinstall does not help.

  • Can I watermark a PDF with Adobe Reader?

    Embarrassing question.  We have a client who wants a PDF of a document I do not want to give them a PDF copy of.  Is there any way to imprint a see through image of the word "copy" across every single page of the document?  Thanks so much.  Catherine

    You can however use Acrobat and put the watermark.
    The trial version of Acrobat is good for 30 days.
