Can I install a 8 Gb ram on my laptop?

Hi, I wan't more RAM in my laptop, it came with 2 Gb, now it has 3 Gb. But, I would like to get 8 Gb bot i don't know if it is possible with my specifications.
I have a dv6663cl laptop.

The board has 2 slots for RAM, is it possible to put 2 4 GB modules or is it maximun 4 GB at all? and, if I put more, do I have to change it in the BIOS?

4 gigs is the max. You do not need to do anything other than put it in to make it work. If you have a 32 bit version of Windows (most people do) you are wasting your money to put in more than 3 gigs because that is the most the operating system can use.
If you want to use 4 gigs completely you need 64 bit Windows.

Reason I wanna upgrade to SSD is obviously because of improved performance but also that I can probably turn the current built-in HDD into an external device maybe? Shouldn't be any problem. You can replace the 2.5" HDD of your notebook with any 2.5" SSD. Be aware that you need to reinstall Windows unless you have a software to clone the current on the SSD.
With an external USB hdd case you can use the HDD as an external drive. However if you erase the current partitions you will loose the possibility of using the F3 recovery with the HDD reinstalled if the Windows on the SSD gets destroyed by a virus or similar problems.

Start with the first article and clear out any files in the Temp folder. You may need to remove iTunes and its related software and finally make sure that you have the 64-bit version of iTunes downloaded to install.

I've got a Qosmio G30 102 and I wanted to upgrade my RAM to a total of 4GB (currently I've got 2GB installed with specifications of PC2-4300 DDR2 (533MHz)) . So I've been searching for RAM and I wanted to know would it be possible for me to install.

For upgrading RAM on my notebook I have used Kingston DDR2-667 and it works without any problems! :)
So you can use this Kingston module too but I assume that it will only run on 533 MHz speed due the FSB limitation of the CPU. The FSB speed you can check with a hardware information tool like Everest or PC Wizard 2008 for example.
As far as I know the notebook can be upgraded to 4GB maximum RAM.

I have installed CS6 in my PC and registered the product with Adobe. I was doing fine untill my client wanted me to carry my laptop to a meeting to show them designs and make changes real time. That's way too slow. Memory's like under $100 for 16GB. If you're dead set on 8 (not much of an upgrade), it's even less. Buy some Corsair memory from Newegg or Amazon. Works great. Go for the Vengeance type and it'll work fine..

You can however I would not advise this option. It will seem to work for a time and then a periodic kernel panic.

Can't install Solaris 10 Express on my AMD64 Laptop!

I was all excited to try out the latest and greatest Solaris OS and so I downloaded all the ISO's and burned them twice (made a mistake the first time around), and then rebooted my computer with the bios settings set to boot from CD.
At first it seemed to load the installer fine; but then again, I wouldn't really be able to tell since I'm a Pro Windows user, but a Noob in everything else. But it scrolled some very normal linux looking text on the left side of the screen and then gave me four options for how i wanted to install.
Here's where the problem occurs. Regardless of which choice I make the installation crashes and reboots (restarts) my laptop. I've searched the web, and these forums thoroughly looking for an adequate source of community support but it seems that there's not much of a community developed yet...and hence no one able to help me out.
So I have no idea what I'd need to do to get Solaris running. Frankly I don't care if it's running in 32bit or 64bit mode, as long as it runs.
My system:

Thanks for your reply. I was not looking for Athlon support, but indeed wanted to know if it works.
I'm aware that this Solaris Express is still a work (of art) in progress, but before asking Santa (= my wallet) for a new MoBo, I wanted to have this so called gray area demistyfied.
As you say, by default, solaris will boot/install 64 bit, regardless of the type of AMD64 processor used !
Therefore the bootstring earlier reported could have helped someone to get his machine booting, but is in a normal situation not needed by default.
So thanks to Sun and Santa, we might be running X86 64-bit Solaris next year. I started with S10 b48 in the beginning of this year on X86 32 bit, followed by Sparc 64. What will be the next step, Solaris on HP machines or AIX? We will see !
