Can I install a hard drive myself w/out voiding Applecare?

Question

I am thinking of buying a new Powerbook, but I can only afford one with a 60 or 80GB hard drive. I have a 100GB hard drive in an older TiBook that I'd like to install in the new PB, but I need to know if I can do it myself, or would that void the Applecare warranty? Hard drives were a consumer installable part on the TiBook, but are they also consumer installable on the new AlBooks?

Hi, PDE. Here is the pertinent section of the warranty:
This warranty does not apply: (a) to damage caused by use with non-Apple products; (b) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake or other external causes; (c) to damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses described by Apple; (d) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider; (e) to a product or part that has been modified to significantly alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Apple
Note section (e), especially, which can be read as "This warranty does not apply...to a product or part that has been modified...without the written permission of Apple."
Part or product. The part is the HD, and the product is the PowerBook. If the product is modified without Apple's consent, the warranty no longer applies. Apple will only consent to work done by an AASP. If the work was not done by an AASP, and they do not have a record of who has done the work, the warranty will no longer apply. That's pretty clear to me.
